I love the manga and I really appreciate that the new anime has been following it faithfully. But I loved the ending to the 90s anime more. Season 5 was so fun, especially with the sailor starlights. Season 2 and 5 are my favourite arcs for sure.

Worth noting that the personality, style and design of Haruka & Michiru/Sailors Uranus & Neptune as well as their relationship dynamic is based on the codified image of the crossdressed actresses from the famous Takarazuka theatre troupe, a long-lived musical theatre institution and school that has served as a refuge for lesbians, butches, NGC & artistic females for many decades.

i loved the lesbian relationship in sailor moon. but I loathed how the English dub kept shoehorning in that they were "cousins" it made it so weird

Sailor Moon is perfect. Have you ever seen the anime Strawberry Panic? It’s a little more adult than Sailor Moon. It takes place at an all girls boarding school, there are no male characters, and everyone’s love interest is female. I’d love to see you review it if it sparks your interest.

I have a Mandela effect going on with Sailor Uranus and Neptune, in the Latin-American version of the anime, back in the 90s, my child brain thought I heard they were cousins, I thought it was so weird for cousins to be so romantic to each other.
I realized my mistake until I spoke to my sister and she confirmed the anime didn’t say that, it was probably my mom who told me that, being a homophobic catholic Mexican mom in the 90s 🤷‍♀️

The United States version did dub them ad cousins so maybe some location proximity going on?

I was hoping to also hear about Mars and Venus possibly crushing on each other they’re my favorite ship!! I do like Usagi w Rei also.someone did say what u said that they had an antogonistic relationship and Mars and Venus less antagonistic relationship lol they also shipped Usagi w Mina cause they act alike and stuff but they look like twins cause Mina us like a decoy in case they try to kidnap Usagi etc.but there’s countless of pics of Rei and Mina looking like they have a crush on each other sexy poses even like Rei putting her hand on Mina’s waist ! And the stares that they had was sexy .and the pic u put up there with them saying they don’t need men u got a problem with that ? Lol Rei .and one of my favorites them on a bike it’s a manga art pic Rei is cradling her head and they just look like a cute couple ! Naoko said in that pic they look appealing ! They do!

I love Sailor Moon! I watched the anime in the 90s and read the manga a long time ago. It is just wonderful and beautiful. Have you seen the new anime adaptation? It has two seasons if I'm not mistaken, and it is really good.

The cringe part about Chibiusa's crush on Mamorou isn't that she's a 900 yr old child, it's that Mamorou is her father and having a rivalry with one's mother for the affection of one's father would eliminate one from existence if one went back in time to before one was conceived.
I think in Japanese culture the daughter having a crush on her father was seen more as the father being the desired archetype for the daughter's future husband therefore that was why the Chibiusa-Marmoru pseudo pairing is in the story.

I'm late to this, but I recommend continuing with the 90's anime. The S and Stars series in particular are very queer and very dramatic so what's not to love.

Kamikaze Girls review when? (the Japanese light novel/movie, the manga isn't as good)
Also, do watch, read or maybe review some Asuka-gumi, which is incredibly feministic as well as sapphic.

Do you really need to mention your sexuality ?

Well as someone who is specifically looking to follow someone of the same sexuality it does help. Peace
