They were originally lovers in the Japanese series, but it was too risqué for young American audiences so they changed them to "cousins". Also, Zoicite was actually a gay man in the Japanese series as well but they changed the character to a female for the American version.
@eviko1 No, they're a confirmed lesbian couple. In the American version, they decided to censor it, and call them 'cousins', but it ended up awkward, because of all their romantic moments. You should watch the subtitled, Japanese version, instead.
Wasn't fish eye gay too but they made him a female in the American show as well? I think that is wrong..... they should have just left it. Besides, Sailor Moon was directed toward teens in Japan. Sorry if this is a year later respond xDD
