Yup. And they said turn 1 or 2 selvala and that was a turn 2. Way better than 6 card hand. Bad players are just bad.
I was thinking the same thing. Im not gonna be rude to players, its easy to miss under pressure of recording but I think that first hand was by far the best of the first 3 shown.
I paused the video and took straight to the comments because that hand was definitely keepable as it had early ramp and card draw

yeah! I have seen him go to 2.
It really shouldnt be. I don't think there's ever been a "pontus go to 3" tha i disagree'd with. All this says is that people are way to conservative in mulls when mulls are like 40% off the whole game.
A good 3 is still leagues better than a bad 5
Honestly as someone who is probably too conservative and keep a lot of decent 5s and 6s where I have some spells to play but not a very solid plan it's nice to see someone not afraid to go below 5.
I think Selvala could have won game two if Phyrexian Soul Gorger was played before tapping Selvala, it gives +3 mana and an extra card

I would recommend Great Oak Guardian for the Selvala deck. Could have won on her last turn if she did. play the turn as she did dropping the regal, evolution it away for the great oak, untaps all your creatures plus makes them bigger, thus making more mana with selvala. gives you enough mana to drop mantle, equip it and activate selvala, activate mantle, infinite mana. Make your entire team infinitly big, swing for win. 1 at Mons, 1 at pontus, and 2 at rhetoric as he had a blocker.
if im not mistaken sabertooth wins the game on the spot if she tutors it instead of regal ... she has 9 mana at the start of the round (land, priest for 3, selvala for 5)...sabertooth cast leaves her with 5 mana left, bouncing mystic, tapping selvala again for 5 gives more than enought mana to loop Wirewood Symbiote and selvala for inf mana, then casting Phyrexian Soulgorger to draw her whole deck...there is no need to even use evolution :D

Great video. If Francisco reveals a land when you explore, how do you restart the combo? Do you simply wait to untap Agatha's and remove another creature?
More or less that. It is a sad moment when it happens.
Yes, but there are some ways to optimize. The biggest thing is that you can, if fransico doesnt have summoning sickness, also attack someone for an extra explore trigger. That way you have 3 reveals to find the nonland
If you have 4 extra mana you can use the other ability on Hangarback but obviously that's not ideal. I'm working on a mono black list where the mana needs aren't as tight, so I can play more colorless lands, and I've been enjoying forge of Heroes and animal sanctuary as ways to give Francisco an extra +1/+1. Forge of heroes is obviously ideal where it only costs 1 mana to give +1/+1. Sensei's Divining Top is also insanely good in the deck where you can just tap it to put it on top before comboing

It’s frustrating watching Selvala throw games she 100% should have won on her final turn and made Infinite mana.
There's an Ulamog in Emilys Deck so milling out with brain freeze doesnt kill her...or am i missing something?
If you are talking about game 1 he also just has thassa oracle in his decklist so he can win via that as well.

I hate when this happens in a tournament, you can just do nothing and pick up a win, ugh. But good game!

Where does the J/I come from? Linguistically/etymology-wise Codie seems to come from "codex" which would be Latin or Germanic inspired, leading to the need for an additional letter to produce the necessary sound.
Would really love to get your source on that one though, since it's a created world by WotC and they sometimes have interesting approaches to localization. Example: Gisela being just Sela in the german version.

Selvala and mono green is not viable in the actual cedh meta...sad but true. Wanna play selvala, etc? Go to highpower where people do not adnaus at your face, but even though we see combo and great cards
