Aurobindo was the most prominent leader from Bengal of the Indian National Congress holding radical views of total independence from the British rule. He came to Kolkata and joined politics actively during the first british attempt to divide Bengal in 1905. His revolutionary activities were more covert with his brother Barindranath Ghosh actually helming the leadership role of the Anushilan Samiti which was a revolutionary organization.

I literally regret we are not taught with our history. I visited pondicherry once, I didn't know about arbindo much by that time, I came back read about him, his works. And I regret I could cherish the same while I was there. I so much hate, the earlier govt for the kind of history is taught to us in our school. We are changing it but this process is so slow.

Even before I decolonized my mind recently, I always felt an extreme fascination that our great nation has so many languages. My goal was to learn all Indian languages. Haha.. Not sure if that is possible, but I have restarted again so that my kids see and learn. My education taught me to read and write Devanagari and English scripts. I learnt to read Kannada after my kids had it as their second language. Learning Kannada has helped me read Telugu. I had prior knowledge of both languages but could not read or write. Now I can speak manageable Samskritam. Next in line is Tamil. My keypad has some Indian languages in it for me to practice. I make sure my daughter watches a safe, non toxic Kannada show everyday and I insist that she speak to her kannadiga friends in Kannada. Have started speaking some amount of Samskritam at home. So daughter speaks a bit too and son can understand. Irony is that my own language, Tulu, has stopped using its script. The language is also in the endangered list. I tell my kids to be those few people who can teach these languages back to the nation that may have forgotten its languages, and wants to relearn. Apologize for this big post. I get excited every time I hear people talk about learning multiple Indian languages

One of the things where our people fail is that we focus on religion rather then the nation. There is NOTHING WRONG with loving your Nation. India should learn the lesson that China just displayed the efficacy of, being self sufficient by design. India can, once we give a bit for the nation and all other senses of self pride will lead to us being proud in all senses of life.
A great guest and a great conversation! I hope a lot of Indians, domestic and outside, watch this and smile at what has been given to us, the gift of a nation and the preservation of our culture and history.

Also all revolutionaries always worked together, another dangerous notion for divisive forces. Eg..someone mentioned Rashbihari Bose. Subhaschandra Bose before leaving India consulted with Veer Savarkar in Mumbai who gave him a a letter for Rashbihari Bose who was his associate and friend as the head of the Japanese chapter of the Hindu Mahasabha and founder of the INA. He handed over the INA to Subhaschandra Bose when the latter reached Japan. And what a great decision it was.

What many do not realize is that Chatrapati Shivaji maharaj remained in public memory thanks to Lokmanya Tilak who along with Ganesh chaturthi ( another massive festival in Maharashtra)started the public celebration of Shiva jayanti, the birthday celebration of Shivaji Maharaj. He would have and has almost suffered that same fate of anonymity in our British and Marxist textbooks. It’s the love of the people that keeps him alive. Wonder if Lokmanya Tilak,a great man himself and the leader of the revolutionary movement before 1920 (Bal,Pal,Lal trio),who was imprisoned for 6 years in Burma for sedition,is even mentioned in textbooks anymore. Coincidentally he was sent to prison out of the country for writing against kudiram Bose’s hanging and asking for complete self rule in his own publication.

You ignore the fact that after the Sepoy rebellion of 1857, the British were looking to place their own mole inside India’s freedom struggle who would ensure that resistance stayed mild and peaceful - something they could easily manage. They chose a man of mediocre merit who was disconnected from India and had worked under their command (medical corps of British army in South Africa) and whose obedience and loyalty was proven. They sent him as a decoy wooden duck into India in 1915 and by 1921 Gandhi had formed a pact with the Muslim Moplah rioters from Kerala who had proclaimed loyalty to the Khalifa in Turkey! The British had killed two birds with one stone! They had their own men in disguise in shape of disciples around Gandhi (C.F. Andrews, Madam Cama). It was for this reason Congress hated the violent revolutionaries. Gandhi refused to step in to save Bhagat Singh. He also turned against Bose. You will notice a pattern form the time he stepped into India till he was shot dead - he was a loyal mole of the Brits. QED

They won't tell Bhagat singh was a communist, they won't tell savarkar was an anti caste atheist. They only cherry pick things that suit their agenda. But it's equally wrong if not more wrong to erase the revolutionary history of India.

Britain has a history of being occupied by foreign invaders.
It was a part of Roman empire.
It was occupied by the Anglo Saxons (English) and Jutes who are Germans and not the natives of Britain.
The Scots and Irish aka Celts are the natives of Britain.
The Celtic Scots and Irish never got along with German Anglo Saxons aka English. This divide exists to this day.
Britain was also invaded and occupied by the Vikings and Normans who razed villages to the ground.

vikings were trying to stop christianization of europe - -that why they invaded britain. actually they were just returning the islands to its native state.

1947, was not "independence", but, a transfer of power from the British to the allies of the British in the subcontinent.
This is why the transfer of power from the British was peaceful when Indians and Pakistanis were butchering one another.
Those who were helping the British colonize India, replaced the British after 1947.
Which is why the governance structure of loot, exploitation and extraction was carried on by those who took over from the British.
This is the root cause of things remaining pretty much the same in both India and Pakistan 78 years after exit of the British.
India could have remained united and truly gained independence if 1946 cabinet mission plan of strong autonomous states was implemented.
Centralized rule in a subcontinent like India is basically continuation of colonial rule where power and wealth are concentrated in the hands of extremely few while vast majority live in abject poverty the type not even visible in many African countries today.

And wtf is bombay, it's MUMBAI.
On one side we are giving lessons on independence movement and on other hand still using names given by colonizers, Mumbai is named after our goddess Mumba Aai, but northy's still using distorted names. Most of the freedom fighters are from Maharashtra but merging with Bharat, seems like bad decision for we Maharashtrians. Hope so, northy's government comprehends this issue soon, else there'll be soon Maharashtra seperation movement in few years.

Who tf said Bose was facist? What kind of people are you inviting on your show now? Anything for views? Had hai bhai tumse bhi. Netaji was thrown out? A man like Netaji, who once beat his college professor with his own shoe at a young age, could be thrown out of a political party without making a statement? The issue with your RSS-inspired fan fiction is that it would fit your narrative if Netaji despised Gandhi and Nehru. But in reality, he had nothing but respect and admiration and most importantly LOVE for Gandhi. A fearless leader like Netaji, if he had any grievances with Gandhi, would have confronted him directly and shot him with his own hands. Even after forming the Azad Hind Fauj, his respect and LOVE yes love for Gandhiji remained unwavering. You can’t rewrite history to fit your agenda. It’s sad to see Doscast becoming a propaganda channel views ke liye kitna giroge dost? Sab yaad rakha jayega is baat ko yaad rakhna tum bhi.

@@SB-rn4nc It's a calculated strategy by RSS ideologues to appropriate our national heroes and equate them with their own, like Savarkar. Their figures, like Savarkar and Golwalkar, played no significant role in the freedom movement inke khud ke heroes ki to koi aukaat hai nahi to humare heroes ko apne gire hue Savarkar etc ke level tak neeche kheench kar la rahe hai.. Netaji was never considered a fascist, but now they're attempting to recast him as a right-wing figure, disliked by the left. Just look at how Doscast placed Netaji's AI-generated image next to Savarkar, as if they belong in the same league as if Savarkar has any AUKAAT to be next to OUR Netaji.

@@chaitanyaatre574 That's a blatant falsehood. Communists and EVERYONE in West Bengal respected and admired S.C. Bose, making your claim baseless and without any credible source..just as unfounded as the rumor about Sonia Gandhi being a bar dancer. What I do know is that it was an RSS vicharak who assassinated Gandhi, and it was the RSS that called for the boycott of the Quit India Movement and the freedom struggle. I'm also well aware of how low they go to spread their propaganda, from Nehru being HIV positive, to Sonia being a bar dancer, to Gandhi being a womanizer, and to the lie that Netaji hated Gandhi. Your assertion is just one of the countless lies Sanghis have been propagating for generations. Repeating the same lie for decades doesn't make it true; it remains a lie, plain and simple.
