Today I learnt something I hadn't seen again in source control. That was very useful because as a rookie I commit projects with api key in GitHub directly and GitHub sends me a warning back. Now I know what I have to do. Thank you again, Mr Lynch.👍

The whole series about version control is very helpful and especially the topic about config files. I didn't know that at all. Thank you very much.

In my .gitconfig it not show the [core] .gitignore_global 😢

I don’t understand. The .gitIgnore_global is in your home directory. You will have to make sure that you are showing dot files.

I never remember what needs to be in ignore file.

So add it once to the global and you are set

To be honest, it is not worth your doing that as you will see very little return and only annoy your users. It is better to spend your time creating and promoting an application that people will want to pay for. I can say this from experience as I initially use to have adds in my apps and saw very little revenue from them if any at all.
