***My boat is a 236cc Key Largo Center Console w/ a 200HP Mercury Saltwater Series.
***They no longer make these boats so she's a classic forever and ever.
We try to catch some bait in the key largo bay but quickly give up and move to the key largo patch reefs to get bait and catch some snapper. In 40ft on the reef edge off key largo we quickly found ballyhoo and loaded up on live bait. These ballyhoo are great bait to catch mutton snapper.
I send down a butterflied ballyhoo and quickly we hook up to a mutton snapper. Fish on! What a great start to this fishing episode on the South Florida Fishing Channel. Now it's set in stone that this is a catch and cook.
With one mutton snapper in the ice box we keep fishing and having a great time. We catch some yellowtail snapper and another nice mutton snapper. We also battle a barracuda at one point. They want to catch our fish while we're patch reef fishing!
The bottom fishing at 40ft quickly turns into us going out to 130ft to do some bottom fishing. However while fishing for snapper the current and waves really picked up. So we head back to do a little bit more of patch reef fishing before we get to cook snapper at the lazy lobster in key largo.
The Lazy Lobster will cook your fish. If you catch snapper and looking for a place that will cook snapper then lazy lobster is the perfect place to take your fish! What a great day in the florida keys!
I hope you enjoyed this Mutton Snapper and Lazy Lobster in Key Largo Catch and Cook fishing episode on the South Florida Fishing Channel. I have some awesome fishing videos in production! Please leave a like and comment to show your support. Thank you!

Aw man that "Conservation status" must be a serious blow to a Fishies self esteem when it reads "least concern" haha Sweet intro too!
hah yea I was thinking that when I read that. There's so many snapper in the bay! They show up in the chum slick and scare the pilchards away! lol
Ok but come on It might boost your Subscription status with people seeing your not greedy and taking every fish you get your hands on yeah? Just a thought tho
*Fish gets snatched*
“There’s a barracuda behind the boat!”

Nice video Heiko! I still prefer to cook my own catch. Can’t beat being lazy sometimes and wanting to relax! By the way..... nice Wikipedia entry you added 🤨🤔 I wonder who gave you that idea.... 😂👌🏽
hah I thought you got that idea from me! Because I did it in a few videos ago with the 'slippery dick' fish while fishing with Dan lol
South Florida Fishing Channel
I see 🤔🤔🤔 I suppose great minds think alike 😂👌🏽🤷🏽♂️

Heiko, Great day of fishing and even better way to end the day ;) ... Dolphin are starting to show up, caught 7 keepers this morning in 800ft off Miami. You need to take a trip outside the reef next time and check out the weed patches before you anchor up.
yea, mahi videos coming soon!
Killer videos man. What shoes do you wear on the boat?
They are sperrys
Great video Heiko . I'll be purchasing some of those rigs for sure. Offer local pick up? Love the Lazy Lobster get the conch Lazy style, super good also their ranch dressing is the best I ever had. Whats happening to the parking lot?
not sure, some sort of construction! Yea I can do local pickup!
You Plan A month Before you went fishing and do this Video. @ mahimahiaddiction
Great now I’m hungry lol
Great Vid as always, headed to Cudjoe next week. How deep are you fishing the muttons? I would love for my wife to catch a nice one like you guys did.
anywhere from 40ft to 130ft. Some people get them in 160-180 but I don't have any numbers yet at that depth
Tell the one guy not to step on the live well next time!! LOL
Awesomely made
Nice work putting the Boyz on some fish. They lost some big ones too!
Now that was a great day on and off the water! Showed those guys how to do it in Key Largo! Mahi are finally here!! Let’s go get em”! -Dan
Let's get some tomorrow!
I do have to say The quality of this video is WOW and content is awesome You hit it on the nose this time Thank you
thanks!
Haha you misspelled your own website there at 9:19 - "SouthFloridaFishingChanel.com" lol
Edit: Extra s on misspelled was removed how fitting haha
@Heiko, you and South Florida Fishing Couple should try to connect with a very good Mutton fisherman in the Tavernier/Islamorada area - Luis Rodda. I figured since you guys love fishing for muttons, you could probably help boost his viewer base. He consistently catches very large muttons. Here's one of his latest videos:
ruclips.net/video/Ag0CJYMM0XI/видео.html
My dad and I were getting mangs that size offshore in the gulf on a full moon. Every drop was a bite, it was just a matter of getting them out of the rocks and up to the boat!
yes boooiiiiiiiiiiii's
Is there a reason why you take a beautiful nice live ballyhoo and Butterfly it instead of sending it down a live?
amazing video and editing your really getting pro, next blacktiph and DMFD
thanks Javier! I'm working everyday to get better!
@@SouthFloridaFishingChannel all the hard work will pay off
dying to fish with ya.
Lazy lobster looks great love ur videos been on since 5 k subs
Pie is great!! Lazy lobster added to visit list
I gotta put. Mutton on my bucket list.
I used to work at mariners club.
thats a lot fish right there 😋
Love the vids. Nearly finished watching so if them. You ever come across "large" aquatic species of anything it there? I'm West coast and don't fish but would love to get into it. I know West coast last time I was on a boat we ran into sharks and whales. Just curious. Thanks for the vids keep it up.
yup I have a spearfishing video coming out today! You'll see some sharks =) whales do come by sometimes!
Are you anchored while using the Craig rig or drifting the bottom? And if drifting is your sinker up off the bottom a tad? Thanks
It will work for either or if there's current. Yea I crank it off the bottom just slightly
Another great video upload as always think them socks did a better job than them frozen shrimp last week lol thanks as always bring on the next one
hah yea. And the banana! It must have been the banana lol
Making me miss home more and more 😫You gotta go catch some fish and get them cooked at Arthur’s island kitchen! Right across the street from lazy lobster.
Sounds like I should do that for an upcoming video!
Caught my first mutton today but wasn't keeper. Still happy
It's always great catching a mutton! =)
Dude I love the Lazy Lobster. Their fish dip is out of this world. Not gonna lie, the fish dip at Island Grill can't be topped but it's still shut down from the hurricane Irma damage.
Hey Heiko, Do you ever let any of the big Mutton Snapper go for Conservation purposes The big ones so they can lay some
No there's plenty of mutton snapper out here. We can keep 5 mutton snapper per person.
You had bananas on the the boat. Didn't you have boat trubles? Mystery solved. Lol
lolololol boat troubles happen with or without bananas! Catching fish is the myth not boat issues
I wasn’t hungry, then I watched this. Now I’m starving.
Sorry man juice! =) Cheers!
Eggs or roe
another fun video, Heiko. you are the best!
Thanks Luis! =) YOU ARE THE BEST
You can come by Stuart for a slay ride on your way to pick up your kite surfing equipment lol

Hey man! I don't do charters but I know people that do. Maybe we can hop on one
@@SouthFloridaFishingChannel That would be great! My step dad has camper. We where looking to camp out there for a week! That would be awesome. If we can link up to rent one of your friends charters.
I went to one of those florida fishimg spots in key largo today and found a spot in 7 ft of water and killed the mangro snapper today. All around 14 in

Good video. U do a good job. Keep up good work!
Dude... the socks rock!!
heh, yea they are fun =) Cheers!
Do you ever pitch into the mangroves around the dock at your house?
a little bit but not so much. There's some nice snapper here but I feed them so they are becoming more like pets haha. If I get skunked fishing offshore maybe i'll go for em!
Awesome!!!
Square grouper ..lol!! That looked like a very cool fishing trip with a great bunch of friends. Your videos continue being awesome and entertaining, love how your channels has grown. Weiter so Heiko! Hope I make it to South Florida on day. And if you ever feel like chasing big Peacock Bass, Payara and some other mean toothy fish down here in the Amazon just get in touch!
yea man! We will have to plan something because that sounds epic!
The happy dance haha😂
happy dance!!!
On no not a banana🍌🍌🍌
I'm bananas!!!
Love the video man
Thanks Jeremy! 772 yewww!!!!
awesome vid heiko
Thanks Shane =)
I wish you would show that you do put some of the smaller fish back. Seems like you keep all the fish so I'm not sure if you keep all of them or throw some back.???
9/10 times if it's a legal fish i'll keep it. I'm fishing for dinner! The smaller fish in this video were not kept and I do film like 4-5 fish being thrown back in this video
@@SouthFloridaFishingChannel Thank you for responding. I love your videos because they are so interesting and I recommend you to all of my friends so you will get more followers.
Awesome! You are a super sub! Thanks Victroria!!! =)
Yeeewww all the way man 👍
Where exactly to you catch pilchards?
Well it's always different. Sometimes on the flats, sometimes they are deeper in the channels. Sometimes they are ocean side near land
Thanks

Hey Heiko, that Barracuda is the best thing on the boat to eat. You ought to try it sometime
just wait =) few days I have something coming out I think you'll like!
Watch out for Ciguatera risk though!
@@JohnJohn-bp5ci You are right especially large reef fish Barracuda, Grouper, Red Snapper, Spanish Mackerel and so on thanks
Andre Patterson, you are right. I remember reading an article many years ago when I lived in Florida that said people got sick from eating hog fish from the dry tortugas. I'm not sure how common the disease is now or what % of people get it in a year, but while I was growing up, they use to say not to eat any barracuda's past 5 lbs because of the potential being there. I have friends who enjoyed eating barracuda and never got sick. I always heard it was good tasting. 😊
Continue to fish and reel em in
I got the first like and view.
those highlights at the beggining and intro is amazing
I hope you have logged all your time on the water and you are applying for your Captains License. My brother from California and I will be in Key Largo in August and would love to ride with you.
Of course if you invited us, no license would be needed. Thanks for your great videos. I especially like that you will show the area on a map, tell us what speed you are trolling and the depth of the water. Really appreciate it. Thanks.
just hit me up before you come down and i'll see where i'm at. This is going to be a busy year!
@@SouthFloridaFishingChannel So you guys don't keep 'cudas? All slime aside, once you get them clean they're really good...assuming they're like California 'cudas. No one targets them here either, but good eats none the less.
@@SouthFloridaFishingChannel Will do, thanks.
@@mcrume "like California 'cudas". HaHa , Everybody knows. that like "Florida Man", we have "Florida 'Cudas" .....Krazy Good! Eat the small ones. See ya soon.
@@markcrume So I just watched Heiko's Barracuda catch and cook...and found from the comments why barracuda IS a different gig in FL: cigaterra poison. Parrot fish eat coral with the poison, cudas eat the parrot fish, you eat the cuda.... we're a bit short on both coral and parrot fish here, so....ours eat anchovies and sardines!
Great video Heiko. You got to chill. Do more collaborations. Pick someone from a different environment. Andy's Fishing come to mind. Anyway, great job.
I'm very disappointed in this video go back and do what you used to do last year I'm a little bit disappoint and I live in South Florida and I know what's it's all about show more not just 10 minutes fishing
