    Health anxiety is a long journey. I’ve had it for over 12 years now and I’ve completely lost it obsessing over so many things. It’s a very painful and taxing experience and I’m sorry that you have to endure it. The birth of my first child brought back a fear of HIV that had been gone for over 4 years. It instantly came back, out of absolutely nowhere and for no reason at all. No instigating situations or anything. It happens. But please know that you’re not alone in this and that you have the strength to endure. One foot in front of the other until your walk is done. Keep going.

    I totally understand. Thank you for being open and honest. I’ve had health anxiety for as long as I can remember, but this year has just been one thing after another and way more intense than ever. I’ll think I’m good and then something as tiny as a dot on my skin will set me off into another panic attack. I’ll try and reason with myself and remind myself that my “symptoms” are probably stress related and to replace the negative thoughts, but it feels like a daily uphill battle. It’s really exhausting. However, I’m thankful for people like you who understand and show me I’m not alone. Best wishes to you and anyone else struggling right now.

    Yeah I’ve been dealing with strong twitches for a few days. All Over my body arm, leg, neck etc... and of course I convinced myself that I may have ALS! Then I remembered that I have had this for about 4 years now.. and I rewatched some Of your videos and then told myself I don’t have the muscle weakness! Still
    I have anxiety about what could be wrong with me then. I do have health anxiety unfortunately.. I didn’t even know this was a thing until I watched your videos. I haven’t been to a doctor because I never thought anything of it until it start happen more and more frequently. Granted I have been laid off from my job because of corona virus... and the watching the news and hearing all the stories... I don’t even know! I have just crazy anxiety and it’s hard for me to express that to family or friends. I just keep it all locked inside and try to figure out a way to deal with it on my own.

So back to Neurologist more tests etc and now I have CIDP.

    Your videos are so helpful for all of us BFS sufferers. I think it’s just the fact that this benign body sensation is even associated to that horrible 3 letter word (I can’t even say it) is why we are so anxious over this. Curious, have you gotten an EMG to calm your fears? I got an EMG after over a month of twitching and debilitating anxiety, fearful of the worst. It came back clean, but I still got a BFS diagnosis. I was relieved for a day, but the anxiety is still there bc the symptom is still there. Why can’t we accept what our doctors say? Someone on another post said it so true....Illness anxiety is a soul sucking disorder that robs us of life. It’s just so hard to battle. Glad you are in a better place!

    Hey I’m a 16 yr old with muscle twitches and involuntary jerk movements. As well literally everywhere in my body cracks and freaks and pops. If I twist my wrist over and over it cracks and cracks. If I bend my elbow it cracks and cracks. These symptoms along with muscle twitching and myoclonic jerks have been with me for about a month now and yesterday I started having blurred vision. As well my legs are stiff and i literally loose balance but not enough to fall. I can’t see a doctor Bc I don’t live in an advanced country. All of these symptoms for a month. I jump back and forth from Oestroporosis to MS to Oestreoarthritis to Parkinson’s disease. Ofc at first I thought it was ALS but I have no weakness and I usually check by lifting up my 6yr old brother and he’s not getting any heavy😂 I hope i get better soon. Raine Hilbero Raine Hilbero I’m fine now bro. I got sick Bc all I did was stay in bed 24hrs a day other than getting out bed to go eat food. The food I was getting was non nutritional. It was just plain rice. And at night I would just eat bread with milk. Lack of minerals and lack of muscle usage caused me to be sick and I also never went out in the sun for months straight. I decided to change my lifestyle habits by eating oranges, mangoes bananas, scrambled eggs, and boiled eggs. Cabbage and spinach in the mornings as well. I’m fine now. I don’t have any problems now all I have is the bone cracking still. I caused myself to get sick. The blurred vision was caused by putting too much oil on my face. The myoclonic twitching/Jerks left me but now they are back Bc I’m starting to get lazy again. But I suggest u start working out, jogging, drinking more water, fruits vegetables, go out in the sun but not too much Bc it may cause radiation which will lead to skin cancer. You’ll be fine. I thought I was going to have 1 of those disease 90%. Here I am. Perfectly fine. I was over reacting. At one point I thought I had ALS 95%. That was 4 months ago. If I had ALS a lot of things would’ve been harder to do today. It’s just anxiety. But you should see a doctor and buy some vitamins

      Its actually even less than that for under 30. 0.5/100,000 would be around 1500 people under 30 in the USA. However, if you look at the age distribution in the USA, only 5000 diagnoses are made per year and only ~1% of these are under 30, so were looking at 50 people out of a population of 330,000,000. Not to mention, majority of cases under 30 are familial cases. The odds are infinitesimal for people under 30 without familial predisposition.

    I Have a awful health anxiety and OCD (male 28) and I'm im the bulbar Als rabbit hole .. I read about it and after a week I have started to slurre many words, No one have heard it when they speak to me, but! I have it recorded when I do slurre, so I really are slurring my words. I also started stuttering.
    After the first slurre I got so hyperaware of my speech. I have never had any problems with my speech, my speech is my biggest gift in my life so when something is off with it, I know for sure something is really wrong. During this time, I also remember my tongue feeling fatigue. I do not slurre all the time it's coming and going.
    I’ve also developed in the last 2-3 days a scalloped tounge and burning sensation on my tounge (never had this before), fasiculations all over my body, mostly on my left buttcheek, it also feels like I have lost the coordination of my tounge and my tounge is always touching my teeth while I’m speaking, I never had braces and I have straight teeth. And today I have bit my tounge like 15 times meanwhile I'm speaking ..

    So to my question, is this the bulbar onset of ALS? Because how can it be possible for me to slurre my words for 17 days with just hyperawareness and health anxiety, it should not be possible right?

    • @63Jax
      @63Jax 6 месяцев назад +1

      Usually it starts with slurred speech, like your drunk, choking on liquids mostly, but being ok with solid food, tongue twiches and short of breath. But all those symptoms don't mean ALS, it can be lots of other issues, ALS being the most rare. Just go for an EMG, skip all other doctors and go directly for neurologist who does EMG, that's what i did anyways. If u go to your family doctor, he will send u to another, then another and so on, just go directly to neurologist for an EMG, even if u have to pay for it. Many blessings 🙏🙏🙏

      Cherelle I had the tingling burning and electrical sensation fof 3 years and it didn't really bother me to much. A year ago the twitching started and it's hell , like you I became aware of MND and life was changed ... would love to erase that thought from my mind .. thanks for the videos

    I'm stuck in a cycle too. I've been pretty good lately. But my anxiety over my face (seems to be my fairly new obsession) has been keeping me in a cycle of anxiety and obsessing the last few weeks.

    Does your health anxiety ever go onto your partner instead of it being about you being afraid that you have an illness? Like now that I’m good and much better with my own health anxiety now I worry about my husbands small symptoms
