A whiskey tasting challenge sounds like a great time. This special was an absolute joy to watch and it brought back my interest in learning to cook. Wishing you both the best.
I'm so kincho watching this. Sorry for the typo 🙇♂ It was so great seeing your reactions to the video and going more in-depth about what happened behind the scenes as well and what was going through your head at the time. Fantastic video!
Mudan! Great to see you on the tape! Nothing to apologize for - you produced an epic. Hopefully you caught all the compliments and comments I made about the editing, from one aspiring editor (me) to an editing unit like you. I can only imagine how long it took you, because this one took me a full week of doing nothing else! Thank you for watching and commenting. Much love!
It‘s Koji. Thank you very much for amazing edit, we really enjoyed it. “HINOKINCHO LAB” contains KINCHO………it is phenomenal coincidence,it amazed me !!!! Absolutely no need to apologize. I really enjoyed to teach them. I really enjoyed to watch TRASH TASTE with Mac-san. I really enjoyed to read your reaction on comments. How many times you entertain me???? What a TASTY contents TRASH TASTE is !!
In highschool, we had an Engineer who volunteers to be a teacher teaching us Calculus and has the same vibe as Koji-San. I felt really bad that I was like Connor when fucking up even tho he was trying his best to make it easy as possible.
It's really funny to see two levelheaded professional adults go up against the idiotic and childish chaos that is Trash Taste. I'm so glad this was made
I have to put this out there: chef Koji MUST be protected at all costs. He's honestly a national treasure of kindness and chef Mac is such a natural on camera. super witty and fun
There is a huge rivalry between the boys during these events. Their fans call it the anime story where Garnt is the underdog Protagonist, Connor is the overconfident Antagonist and Joey is the surprising Best Friend underdog who pulls a surprising victory when no one expects... So the guys adopted this kind of competition between them to have fun with their roles.
You two definitely weren't just an "expert for the special" both of you added to the special rather just being supplementary, mind my words here you were like the rice to the sushi of Trash Taste
I have to say, Koji san's positivity is all a fresh student of cooking needs. In the beginning of one's training, you have to find all the positive things you can, all the motivation you can. If you focus on the negative, you can list the flaws of your dish for hours before you get to the positives. In the end, it's training and motivation that makes for a good cook. Koji-san embodies this. When I cook my dishes, I look for a single thing or two to improve. If someone told me it's shit all the time, I would just make it for my own tastes.
Where I'm from (Israel) the more well known chefs that got Michelin stars have some aura of arrogance and ego around them. While getting a Michelin star is an amazing accomplishment and they have the right to be proud of it, it was very refreshing seeing someone as humble and so incredibly nice as Koji. Thank you so much for the episode (and the reaction video as well).
Mac: Insightful, hilarious, and a great warm smile. Koji: Literally one of the most humbling and wholesome people on the planet. Trash Taste Boys: A bunch of Monkeys being allowed access to a professional kitchen. Loved this entire special. Wish you both the best in these uncertain times. Also, I would love to see both of you join the boys on an episode of the podcast, and enjoy a good whiskey tasting. Excellent idea, Mac!
I wish this video was more out there and popular. It is nice to see the chefs point of view! Also to Chef Koji, Do not be sad over the fact that you used the word "Kill" it is ok with us and it added a bit of comedy!
i really like the attention to editing! its rare to see someone react to the editing aswell! Mudan is an amazing editor and i get amazed everytime i watch videos he edited. and watching this video i can tell you are someone who really puts love into editing aswell! i hope one day i get as good as you!

Ohh, so glad you guys did this. They couldn't have found better teachers. And Joey did it with the wrong knife, I would have never found out without this video
For the subtitles point, a lot of people don't speak english as their main language and are learning it, so it may be difficult for someone without a lot of experience in the language to understand chef koji english, which is correct but needs improvment as well, so subbing it was the safe play.
I've had a lot of teachers and substitute teachers with heavy accents, so I kind of got used to it, but my friend from Doncaster... sometimes I couldn't understand what she was saying and English is the only language she knows!
It's probably 2-3 years since the Trash Taste Special, is it not? Well, I hope both of you are doing okay, Chef Koji and Chef Mac. I enjoyed the Special episode and it was preeetty preeetty pretty fun, especially seeing the bois learning and cooking, which was very rare to see them do that. Thank you for taking your time to teach them and be in the Special. I'm originally a fan of Connor (CDawgVa) before started watching the other boys, Joey (TheAnimeMan) and Garnt (Gigguk.) I only discovered the other two from Connor when they both officially started Trash Taste podcast years ago. I wish there is gonna be a part two of this Trash Taste Special, but I could only hope. I always wanted to go to Japan ever since I was a little, but due to financial issues till now, the dream has yet to come, but maybe one day. I apologize for the long words and my lack of grammar, since English is my 4th language, and being Southeast Asian, like Garnt. Of course his English is 10x better, hahaha. Sorry for the long messages, a bit of a habit. Please take care of yourselves, Chef Koji and Chef Mac. Maybe one day in the future that I could visit Japan. Thank you.

As I felt in their trash taste special, l felt the boys hit the jack pot with such positive and generous judging. Expected firm, stern but fair judges. I got to see "The boys" fortunate cooking lessons from the warmest and kind, amazing chefs in their craft.
Chef Koji's charming and wholesome personality really compliments Chef Mac's "British" humor. These guys are such a great duo. They should do more collabs together.
Mac is such an appreciative and attentive person. He notices both the small and great things that people do and gives them importance. Together with Koji, they are such nice and humble people. Cheers guys.
I love the boys but you guys were the special sauce for that episode. The chemistry was SO GOOD. I hope you guys have a chance to work with trash taste again in the future!
This was fantastic, loved watching it all again with a new perspective. Koji is too pure for this world, and "Mac's" has that fantastic British sense of humour. Would love to see Mac and Koji's reactions to their various Trash Taste views on Food! (Chicken, Rice, Bread, Pizza and Pizza Crust)
Man this is so wholesome, I hope they have either of them as a guest, there's so much they could talk about when it comes to being a Michelin star chef
It’s an exaggeration but to think that Joey was talking about how it felt like he was using a metal stick compared to Koji….BUT IT TURNS OUT BY USUING THE WRONG KNIFE HE ACTUALLY MANAGED TO PREPARE SASHIMI WITH AN ACTUAL METAL STICK
To chef Koji, your English is pretty good! The subtitles are mostly for people who dont speak very good english, so a very different accent might be hard for them! But I could understand it perfectly without them! 🙏🏻
Tbh... I saw that episode from @Trashtaste but after seeing this video, where the most greatest chefs in japan re watching the video and seeing it all over fully.... REALLY LOVE YOU GUYS SOOOOOOOOO MUCH. I really wanna come to japan and the first thing I wanna do is really come to your restaurant and have all of your greatest dishes and also visit chef Koji's restaurant Hinokicho Labo 😆😆😆😆😍😍😍
This is such a fantastic video, those two chefs were lovely in the Trash Taste special and it's a joy to watch them react to the parts they missed back then. Thanks for taking the time to do this!

Really interesting seeing someone react to something they appeared in... and laugh at the people involved. It was a nice watch. Side Note: Most likely Garnt heard of Hattori Hanzo from Quinten Tarantino's film 'Kill Bill', where the protagonist gets her hands on such a sword.
@@MactionPlanet I noticed, but since you mentioned you thought it was from an anime they may or may not have seen I felt the need to mention. Also not everyone has seen Kill Bill (which is such sacrilege - doubt I'm using the word correctly) XD
I loved Chef Koji but Chef Mac was my favourite. You could see the boys getting nervous when they entered and Chef Mac's Banter helped them to relax and actually have fun.
This was so fun to watch! I loved both of your personalities in the Trash Taste special and watching this reaction made me even more of a fan. I would love to see both of you back sometime for a cooking special part 2!
My main critique is that I did not see this delightful video sooner! I saw this five days from upload! Five days without viewing this wholesome duo and their brilliant responses! Congrats Chef Koji and Mac! I hope this video continues to gain further traction. I'll be sure to stop by when I return to Japan one day, but hold the tarantula!
Seeing the chefs watch the trash taste crew mess around in the kitchen was absolutely the best part. Watching these experienced pros who have spent so much time in the kitchen see the trio fumble around was just so good
The thing I really liked about this special wether intentional or not that you gave the boys "native", dishes joey got sashimi, conner got fish and garnt got a Thai dish, I think that makes it funnier
It's very nice to see these kinds of videos once in a while, while you're studying for an exam. It's very relaxing and definitely helps the mood in stressful times, Thank you!
This was so wholesome. You guys did great in the Trash Taste special. You were a big part of what made it such an amazing watch. Here is hoping You'll get all the recognition You deserve and then some.
I'm amazed by how funny and entertaining this video was! Especially the wow counter really made me laugh a lot XD I would love to see you two back on trash taste in the future :)
Very fun video! the dollar signs that they used to censor the fish were not because you need to pay to see it, but because they might lose monetization on the video if they show it. it was the limited ads symbol from youtube
Thank you! I didn't want it to be a waste of anyone's time, so I spent a long time cutting it together to weave the narratives together. Glad your enjoyed it!
It's always gut wrenching at times to watch some people that have probably never touched the same tools as you pick them up and achieve something you can't do in ignorance while you're like "why is he not a chef?" There are masters that would kill for those hands.

I’m so happy you clarified the curb reference at 14:23 I knew it was when I first heard it but I wasn’t sure lol
I hope Cdawg, Joey, and Garnt react to this and make a reacting loop to the special
14:49 Mac highkey roasting them like stop... they are alredy dead X'D

She says that she wants to hate it, but can't.
Sounds like the clue - she WAS bias. That's why she gave him same as Garnt's "it's bad, 6"
Just watched this immediately after watching the original ! Time consuming but both videos worth the time
Glad it was worth it!
Very fun video! the dollar signs that they used to censor the fish were not because you need to pay to see it, but because they might lose monetization on the video if they show it. it was the limited ads symbol from youtube
Mac: Shoutout to the editing team
Mudan: Team
You guys are so fun. I’m glad you enjoyed your time with them and gave us your reaction to the video. A good laugh
Moree content from these two absolute units yessss pleasee
thank you RUclips for doing your job and recommending this to me
One of the best reaction videos ever I have seen. So fun to see your reaction to the special and what happened behind the scenes.
Just so you know, its not an editing team, its just an editor.
The editor is an absolute machine
Mudan is indeed - shout out to Editor Dan too!
This is the most wholesome video I've ever seen, thanks for making this trash taste special possible, wish only the best for both of you!
Thank you!
