Hey Netflix, just wanted to let you know that ten minutes into the podcast got me sold on watching the show in a single sitting. Super crooks and the trash taste boys were a good investment.
The best part about The Bastard is that he's a thought experiment about superpowers. Like when you sit down and talk about superpowers and how grandiose and kind of nonsensical they become, you eventually arrive at "well what if there's a guy that can just kill you" and that is The Bastard.
Super Crooks is one that has come completely out of nowhere and I’m just loving it. It feels like a fusion of three different worlds and styles put together. Jupiter’s Legacy, Invincible and Carole & Tuesday and it’s wonderful. Also, I like the animation style for both credit sequences, but Sugar is totally my favourite. It’s so smooth and can’t get this song out of my head.😌 BTW, truly the English language version people, it is genuinely really good, of course that is to be expected, as it was probably planned to sink up like this to begin with. I wouldn’t be too bothered if there wasn’t a second season as it ends just soooo well, but if it does continue into where the original source material begins then I hope they stick to some of these characters as it would be sad to have to say goodbye. Finally! I was hoping for an anime podcast to watch/listen to. You'd think there would be one by now given how popular anime is and how everyone has a podcast these days
I've been watching trash taste from the very beginning and let me tell you this; it isn't much of an anime podcast anymore, it's an inside joke by now that they don't watch anime at all
@@ignatoseg4664 They do watch anime it's just that they bring it up rather infrequently because they have anime/manga related channels in which they've discussed anime extensively for years, so prefer to talk about other topics on the podcast such as their shenanigans while living in Japan. I suggest you give it a chance as honestly they're pretty entertaining people (especially together).
Izakaya Studios used to do weekly podcasts where they talked about all the newest anime & episodes that came out that week. Unfortunately their format has changed and now they try to focus on the series as a whole so they episodes don't come out as often, but it's still worth checking out.

When I watched it, I watched it dubbed. And my god it’s definitely the Anime you need to watch it dubbed. The cast for it was great and it made it more immersive since the characters are American and it takes place in America.
Reading the comic after watching the anime was pretty surprising, because it showed how so much of the stuff in the anime was entirely original. 99% of the superhero worldbuilding wasn't present in the comic, and basically the whole first half of the show was original. Even though there wouldn't be any more source material, seeing how incredibly Bones did makes me pretty confident they could do an entire season 2 just on their own. EDIT: The worldbuilding was present in a DIFFERENT comic it turns out. But the story in the first half was entirely original

I actually stopped this video to watch ALL of Super Crooks in one sitting. I loved it actually. Bit slow mid way, but it was good. Ending on a high, Theme song was NUTS. Kasey was hot hahaha 8/10 overall for what the series is.
Those two wrestler bros were definitely my favorites. Like they could be literal gods with their healing ability that makes deadpools seems pathetic, yet they just steal poker chips
Deadpool from the live action movies, yeah. But his regeneration powers there are heavily nerfed. In every other media, Wade heals pretty quickly. Basically Wolverine but even more persistent. And on top of that, he's actually a skilled merc with actual firearms and combat training. However, I also absolutely love the brothers in this show. That race they did at the last episode was funny and had no reason to be animated as superbly as it was. Plus the English VAs did a great job with them.
Pratoreon had that video of him killing civilians leaked that led to a massive court battle where he was acquitted for 200 crimes. Personally I think power got to his head and he devalued human life early in the career.
You've sold me on that show, I stopped watching anime regularly, but I gave it a go and I love it. It really doesn't feel like a typical anime full of typical anime tropes

You know the funny thing about Praetorian is that if you know about Roman history his name is SUPER accurate to his character. The Praetorian guard were notoriously brutal, corrupt, and ineffective. They were essentially the mafia of Rome.
Gladiator kicks Praetorian's ass in that last fight because at that point the power blocking machines were back on so it was just a straight up fight without powers. Praetorian has more and better powers than Gladiator, but Gladiator is better trained when it comes to more traditional strength and fighting abilities.
To Netflix: Pay these guys to watch and discuss anime and do these lost episodes and I will watch the anime they watched. Idgaf if it doesn't interest me at first. These boys will convince me one way or the other. lol Good job Netflix.
praetorian was pretty cool at first but honestly later on he just felt like he had plot armor, i get his power is based on luck but still just felt very plot convenient
I'd love to be a fly on the wall when The Bois learn that this is an off-shoot of Jupiter's Legacy, where almost all of their how/when/where/why about the superpowers are answered.
I actually watched the first couple of minutes of this and wasn't sure if I should continue but if the trash taste Bois are talking about it then I'll probably give it a go now.
Fun fact: the zombies in Pittsburg is a reference to the original 1978 Dawn of the Dead by George Romero where the city is beset by zombies and the survivors hold up in the Monroeville Mall which is the mall in the anime. It’s known as the first zombie movie of the modern era and you can tell because it only uses the slow unending zombie army. Also the Pulp Fiction reference with the bathroom scene.
I definitely feel that they wrapped it up pretty nicely. If anything, we could touch on different parts of that world. Hell, a remake of Jupiter's Legacy would be alright. But yeah, I think it'd just sour the great ending Super Crooks already has.
That's why I agree with the bois when they said it doesn't have to be the Super Crooks themselves. It felt like there's a lot more material you could dig into. But yeah, it all depends on Mark Millar.
Casey was one of the overpowered characters. Along with Praetorian, Gladiator for raw power and experience, The Bastard, Immortal brothers and etc. from Utopian
I dont know whether to feel good or bad about this. Because, of course, every time there is an sponsor that also means there is a control to what things you can say or do, and I feel like one of the main good points of Trash Taste is the sincerity of the bois takes. So, talking about Super Crooks (in this case), they might give not completely genuine opinions. Still, it depends on the clauses of the contract, and it could let them just say whatever. I just kinda got mixed feelings. Im still curious tho.
Fair argument but we also have to understand that even on a regular trash taste episode they might not necessarily bash Netflix and other services like Crunchyroll (except for that ex-arm joke) because they get sponsored frequently. So it might not be too different from usual, they can always talk shit about them outside this episode lmao.
@@MerriemWeebster thats also true, but I feel like here they might have notoriously less room to just be the regular trash taste here. Lke, even tho they were collabing with Netflix, they still kinda shited on Record of Ragnarok, and was fine. But, maybe, if the episode had been a direct sponsor, like this one, they wouldn't have said those things. Again, I guess it all depends on the contract, of wich we dont know the content, so Im just wondering.
I wish they dove into more of where Johnny got his powers from like is his dad a superhero or villain and I wanted to see him grow up as a kid dealing with all that instead of a time skip that pasted his childhood.
This show sounds like I would really enjoy it. I also really loved the character Gentle Criminal from MHA who tried to become a hero, messed up really bad and therefore was never allowed to be one again so he turned into a villain instead. I‘d love to see more like this 😊
Check out Incorruptible and Irredemeble Is two comics about a superhero deciding to dominate and pacify the world and a supervillain who tries to stop it.
Alot of the reasons why the backstories of the heroes are not shown is because this is the Animatrix of Jupiter's Legacy (another Netflix show/comic book) you learn more about the heroes in that one like Walter who they mention in one of the episode when they went into the heist inside the base... Basically if you know what Walters power you know why that's the perfect time to do the job just like how they planned it.

When he shocks everyone in that pool I ugly laughed so hard
The crossover all of us wanted but never expected, finally we see the bois talking about anime
Ya know this is like Squid game and this says a lot of society, money makes them do stuff they would never do.
Connor is best for this kind of promotion. Garnt lets his criticism stand in the way of a good promotion
I actually watched the first couple of minutes of this and wasn't sure if I should continue but if the trash taste Bois are talking about it then I'll probably give it a go now.
They'd definitely be happy to hear that THE "sexy man voice" VA Jonah Scott is voicing the main character in the English dub
I was really hoping for an episode talking about the bait and switch with the other Netflix “show” Cowboy Bebop
They adapted the whole comic. It's a short comic. I don't think Mark Millar is planning a sequel.
Looks like I'm doing laundry early this week boys!
I like how gigguk compared the similarities between panty and stocking and cartoons, the the last air bender and anime.
Either way, i think we all can still enjoy it
It's not that big of a deal dude, it's just a single episode where they talk about anime, why are people so touchy on everything
@@xero2621 i didnt say its a big deal, I just said I had mixed feelings at the idea lol. All good.
I had to go binge the anime and come back to watching for peak viewing experience. It's really was a really fantastic watch!
oh wow an actual anime episode from an Anime Podcast
I wish they dove into more of where Johnny got his powers from like is his dad a superhero or villain and I wanted to see him grow up as a kid dealing with all that instead of a time skip that pasted his childhood.
This show sounds like I would really enjoy it. I also really loved the character Gentle Criminal from MHA who tried to become a hero, messed up really bad and therefore was never allowed to be one again so he turned into a villain instead. I‘d love to see more like this 😊
Check out
Incorruptible and Irredemeble
Is two comics about a superhero deciding to dominate and pacify the world and a supervillain who tries to stop it.
watched 28 minutes of this video, went out and watched the anime and came back for the second half so I won't get spoiled
A Free Trash Taste episode from Netflix. Hell YEAH!
It was a good series. But what’s crazy is the comic was only a 4 issue miniseries. They adapted everything and more. The first ten episodes were all original.
For me it's one of those few anime where i feel you need to watch it english
