I know it’s been said a lot but this is hands down the best boss fight in the entire series for multiple reasons 1st the music absolutely slaps from beginning to end 2nd intimidation factor is to the max, from the sounds it makes before striking, to the cold unchanging face to how it yanks itself out of the ground to chase you right down to the childish maniacal laugh it makes after defeating it 3rd while difficult it’s also fun and incredible satisfying to use the whip to yank off it’s arms then it being so powerful you have to use it’s own weapon against it as the only way to his weak spot 11/10 literally have a save file locked on this fight just so I could re-battle him whenever I felt like
If this had BOTW's engine you'd not only be able to keep those swords but you could flurry rush him too if you timed his attacks right. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Anyway, this is one of my favorite boss fights in Skyward Sword.
Man just had an urge to come watch this fight. The fight itself really isnt even that hard but the the VIBE, the sound design and aethetics are just so epic! And it's a good use of a new item you get. Just seeing Link run up those stairs really brought me back, obviously it's not as objectively 'grand' as Botw/Totk but the emotion was there in SS. You actually cared about finding Zelda, that Ballad of the Goddess really plucks the feels
main reason why botw felt a lil disappointing for me ,,, the bosses were just copy n paste;;; different ways to fight sure but they all felt samey lmao
you realise this came out YEARS before botw right?? You realise zelda bosses were always awesome until botw right? Wtf do you mean the "new standard"? Botw is the one that ruined the already established standard. Have a look at Twilight Princess bosses for example.
botw bosses are fine, if a little unmemorable due to all looking similar. there wasn't really a balance between puzzle solving and combat, older zelda games tend to lean harder into the former, while botw (and totk to a lesser extent) add the latter. like, koloktos is a cool looking boss, but it's also extremely easy and doesn't have much substance
Imagine if when it did this 3:25, instead of having legs it would run round on all of its arms like a spider. (BTW I know spiders have 8 legs and this would have 6 legs)
This was first Zelda that we own. Mostly my sister play this game and I was there to support her. I always love this boss. Just imagine if this boss was in Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom.
Fun fact the laughter after this bosses death scene is actually the same as the laughter you here from the statues splatoon 1 Splatfest museum D'fonsceno
Well, this Link is a knight student who long before the start at his adventures already has been through lots of training, lifting heavy weights and such.
Try walking around him in one direction the whole time don’t sprint it’s not needed and then wait for him to try and smack you with his hands and then get as many arms off as possible. Do repeatedly and you should win good luck!
5:21 Message for Koloktos Koloktos, that was HARDLY fair! That obviously couldn’t be avoided! I shall now use the BAN hammer on you! You’ll be banned from attacks happening immediately after cutscenes for fairness reasons. By The Way, your boss fight is fun, that’s why I’m not banning you entirely.
I wish it were that easy I have to run around for like 10 mins before he ever throws one are down then run around some more then maybe if he feels like throwing one down he might
That is because it is. It is freed from the malice that was placed into it. It is not an evil being but having that taken away, well yep. I mea there is a video on koloktos on here. Cannot recall the exact one that goes over yhe Buddhist themes in the Cistern. Nintendo actually surprised me on this stage
After playing through this part, I gotta say… koloktos is… Okay I guess. Nothing really special… just a cool fight. Definitely overrated as hell though.
The one part of Skyward Sword that everyone can agree on that's one of the best.
Regardless of how you feel about the game, this boss fight is one of the best in the franchise. SO epic! Thanks for the comment!

Koloktos has got to be one of the best Zelda bosses. Heck, even one of my favourite bosses in all of gaming in general.
the ancient cistern is awesome too

You do realize ss has a boss rush mode where you can rematch any boss right?

With the creepy face and the giggling? I'm turning the game off. 🤣
When the robot started to walk I thought "holy sh1t!!!".
It was at that moment that I realized that it's going to take me a long time to defeat him.
This whole dungeon gives me Bayonetta's vibes. So cool
How so ?
@@momo-rt9ko i agree quite an odd perspective. Although bayonetta is fantastic
I know right. Especially this boss
Maybe it's the boss design, as well as the creative way to take it down.
everything is better with Bayonetta 👍

I just beat him with Wiimote and nunchuck! One of the few truly satisfying moments of the game.
Even if you don't like Skyward Sword's controls, you've gotta admit the soundtrack's absolutely kickin'.

Hands down the hardest boss in the game. Even Demise (with the Hylian shield) is miles easier
With Wii controls the hardest boss is the first one, just for how unreliable the controls are
Reminds me of a souls boss.
Link was actually badass picking that sword up and chopping the legs off then just wild firing at the chest! What is he like 16? Dude strong af!

So much of Skyward Sword is a chore to play through. But when the game decides to be good, it delivers the highest highs in the entire franchise
The death scene has traumatized me since this day
It will return...
Am I the only one that cut off all his hands before his legs? I remember he had a special attack when you cut off all his arms.
so weird, the weak point of the boss isnt a giant unique eye in the head like every fucking boss of the game
“The sound it makes when it attacks‼️”
The sound it makes when it fucking DIES???
Is nobody going to talk about how Ghirahim waited in that room to wait for link to come and say he’s busy, what.
The best and hardest boss, even more than Denise.
Yeah no, demise is way harder. To me, the final Ghirahim fight takes it as the hardest.
