- Is this new Darth Vader animatronic from Home Depot the Chosen One? I this it is pretty amazing, but not perfect. That said, if you are a Star Wars fan, this is a no brainer.

I wonder if you could bend his hand down a tad to make light saber fit under the ceiling better. Usually those hand connections are just metal rods that hook on and can easily be bent if needed.
Modding for this should be insane. A quality light saber, hack what he says mode, new speaker, some tweaks to clothes, high end helmet, and... yeah can get pricey but if it ever goes on sale/clearance lookout!
I am sure we will see a ton of mods for him, and as long as you do a little at a time then it won't be too bad. I could easily see him being a $1,000 prop when all is said and done. It's a great starting point though and he does look cool enough to put out as is. The kids (especially adult kids like me) are going to love seeing him this year. Thanks for watching!

Funny. I dont know how many times i say i dont have the room for something than get it anyway. Well, I really, really, really dont have the room for this thing!!!! And its killing me. Thankfully i prob would not find one anyway. HA
Hahaha. I know the feeling. The boxes are filling up my basement (and I keep wanting to leave the really cool ones like Darth Vader up in our house.) When a prop is hard to find and you come across it though, it makes it that much harder to say no. Clearly I need to work on my will power. Thanks for watching!
Just had UPS drop off the box today, luckily no damage, as is often the case. All within the box was good, no helmet issue, so, guess it depends how it is packed, saw another video and that person did not have that issue either. Yes, they should pack it like the 12 footers where the head is in a box of its own. Fun video and he will be a hit out of the front porch for pictures at Halloween or in the driveway on non-rainy days.
Glad to hear your Vader came in perfect condition. Maybe the way my box was stored or shipped the contents shifted, causing my helmet warp. I agree that his helmet should have been in its own box, but at least it was fixable. Glad you were able to get this awesome prop. He will definitely be a hit at your house this year!
Wow! He looks really good. I’d actually love to have him as an all year round display piece. I hope you watched at least one of the movies after you put this guy together 😂

That is a great idea for the lightsaber, I might have to try that. I agree, change this from holiday to just Star Wars and all these props get 10x better. You would think Lucasfilm would have learned from the Star Wars Holiday Special. Thanks for watching!

I wonder if you could just replace the lightsaber given, with better looking one and have it fit in his hand. Love your skits btw! Hope to get this guy when he re stocks sometime.
If you love Star Wars definitely try to grab him. I would love to just switch this one out with a better lightsaber but:
A. I don't think you could get it in his hand, so you would have to make a new hand
B. I don't think the motors could handle too much extra weight
That said, it might not be an impossible task if you hand a good Vader glove and a light enough lightsaber. I would love to give him one of the new Theory Sabers, they look pretty sweet.

Now use the hair dryer and fix the brow area of the helmet. it should sit almost flush to the eyes. There shouldn't be a large gap like that.
Great observation, you are definitely correct! Unfortunately, no amount of heat gun is going to fix that. They actually intentionally (though incorrectly) made it that distance, there are spacers set to the top front and both sides. It wouldn't be easy, but if you could cut the spacers I think you could find a way to reattach it yourself a bit closer. The side spacers wouldn't be bad to cut, but the front one is thicker and sits higher above the head, that would be tough. I didn't feel anything in the back. Probably easier to find a better helmet (that isn't too heavy) and find a way to attach that instead.
Where did you buy this off of?
This is an animatronic from Home Depot. They released a few early for May 4th, but will be restocking and selling online again either in July or August. There will be a Stormtrooper coming out this year as well.

@@adirocco2079 I think the link will be down until they get more stock in towards the end of the summer. That's what Home Depot usually does. To get good info about props coming out and being stocked join the Home Depot Halloween Decorating Fanatics 2024 Lowe’s Party City Spirit 🎃 Facebook group. That community does a great job informing each other when there is news.
you me lost as soon as I saw the flashlight they were trying to call a lightsaber. disappointing.
Lightsaber is definitely the most disappointing part. It is too small and just a cheap LED light. Find a way to switch it out with a new Theory Saber, then we'd be in business. Thanks for watching!

Agreed! They always place the stickers in the worst spot too. I never thought stickers would cause me so much pain/rage when I got older, lol. Thanks for agreeing with me, now I don't feel as crazy.

Definitely agree. This Vader needs to hit the gym, his arms and legs are a little thin. Nothing a bunch of plastic bags can't fix. I wonder if my speaker is worse than other people's speakers, I can't imagine they intentionally sent out props with such a terrible speaker. Also easy to fix, but we shouldn't have to.
A quick fix would be a small a Bluetooth … one you can stream the sound from any one of internet sound cloud… from a cellphone and Wi-Fi
But where? After market is up to double or triple what you said you paid…
@@adirocco2079 Don't buy for more than $300 right now. Home Depot will definitely be getting more in this summer. Yoda was even available in stores last year, so I don't think Darth Vader will be too hard to find in the future.
@@adirocco2079 Great idea for a quick fix. Once he sounds better and has better sayings he will be a much better prop (and he is already pretty cool to begin with.) Thanks for sharing your idea!
