I think it may have to do with the venue. No one at the Criterion ever mentioned not filming, and there were no searches for phones. With the advent of the smart phone it has become increasingly more difficult to control these sort of things. It seems that some artists have followed the lead of the Greatful Dead who allowed the recording of their live performances.
I tend to absolutely agree. I don’t expect him to relive the energy of the early shows. It would be fine if his solo show was better or as good as Talking Heads. I’m sure he’s enjoying himself, which is very important. It’s just not Talking Heads.
