Saw it last night. Was walking to the bus after the gig. Someone said to this kid what was his favourite. Amazingly he said this. I said wow I cried when this started. A bloke about my vintage said wow. Me too.
The smallish redhead percussionist is my nephew. When he was a baby I made a mix tape for his mother with this song. He would keep time and was super attuned. And now, look.
@@Squanner Your nephew had a really strong presence! He seems like a very charismatic, talented fellow. You must be so proud, and to think - you and your mixtape had such a positive influence!
David Byrne is an extraordinary artist. What a gift to this world! This song, this performance is par for the course, always breaking ground taking us higher. Make our heart sing and feel alive always. Thank you, Mr. Byrne 💙
Went to this show a couple of nights ago on Broadway. Always been a fan but never seen the live show. Well! it was worth a 35 year wait!!! absolutely amazing, profound, entertaining and not preachy. I went on my own and was up dancing. it was brilliant.
awesome, here it is 2020, and my appreciation for David Byrne goes back to the original not ready for prime time players era of s.n.l., where i first saw a talking heads performance.. as a youngster then, i was impressed with his unusual moves and zoot suits, lol... now i just dig the tunes more than ever before, and feel intimately close to several older songs.. as I'm learning the keyboard, they are exceptionally fun to play along with.. I just found out about his theatre show, and love seeing him barefooted, lol, no wonder his music resonates, lol.. thanks for sharing this!!
thomas red I saw the Heads in a 200 person bar in New Orleans back in 1978 and then 5 more times culminating in th Stop Making Sense tour. Until I saw Byrne on Broadway last week, that had been the best show I ever attended... and I’ve seen them all from Paul McCartney, Springsteen, The Who and Stones to Emerson Lake and Palmer and all the bands you can think of. No one compares to David Byrne with his visuals, perfect sound and sheer joy in performing.
I have seen American Utopia three times live with a fourth time scheduled in January. David B and his brilliant group are priceless artists whose optimism is all too rare during these horrific times. Thank you David and god bless you!
Thanks for great uplifting music like this awesome stage show. Brilliantly revived songs from a great artist. Looked like they had real fun doing this. 😁😁👍
I saw this show in NYC last Sunday (10/24/21) and IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!! SO MUCH BETTER LIVE!!!!!! David Byrne looks really good live!!!! The female guitar player is from Milwaukee WI, my home state, and she was excellent!!!! High praises to all the other current cast members in which most are on this video. I REALLY HOPE that this show can come to the Midwest for I would go again. GO SEE THIS SHOW, so worth the price.
Laughin Lori Because I couldn’t get anyone to join me (and at the time, I couldn’t think of going by myself), I MISSED Stop Making Sense! One of my life’s biggest regrets! I saw him perform in ‘04 as part of Seattle’s Summer Nights On The Pier, and in this show in Seattle’s Paramount Theatre in May ‘18. Both were phenomenal, but I think I’d trade them for the chance to go back and see the show you saw.
I saw the talking heads in leiden holland with u2 as featuring act and tom tom club. Best concert ever. Have seen david in utrecht for his rei momo tour. I love this man
On the 13. December 1980 I've seen in The Munuch Löwenbräukeller. This Time a worked as a writer for the Idiotic Magazine POPCORN. .Prince/ David Bowie and Talking Heads are the best concerts I ever seen …
my mum n dad got their first vhs video recorder and the first video cassete i put in was the stop making sense concert my mate borrowed me so i could test it and show them how to work it happy days 1986 it was chunky toploader to 😂😂
I was lucky to catch Talking Heads before they became known. Not much dancing or showmanship then. Tina Could barely play the bass, Jerry looked nervous. But even then I could tell they’d become one of my favorites. Would love to see a reunion.

Would love to see "The Heads" do a reunion ... will never happen. The closest will be their induction into the RRHOF. David has no desire to reunite, there's also a lot of dislike between band members ... most notably Tina and David. Bummer, this generation should experience them live, together as a single unit as we did.
:)) they are doing the "rotating cross march" at some point though. Admittedly not a swastika though ;) .. just kidding of course. But it made me think.
I love how he gets his daily exercise routine and a show done at the same time. Very efficient time management.
Made my day. Have a nice day boy.
Warrior pose is definitely his thing🎉
You must have had great seats! I cried when he played this song. I never thought I'd get to see it live.
me too

2 of the most perfect songs ever created! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤
I'm so grateful that I got to see this show prior to COVID upending all our lives.
I love this song so much. David brought true musicians together to tell it to us.
"I tried to write one that wasn't corny." You did more than that David. This is my favorite love song.
Same as he ever was, same as he ever was.
Natural talent.
David Morris, you beaut !

I am 58 now. I never knew how cool he is my younger years!! I love him!!
saw him in Melbourne and it remains one of the top 5 shows of the hundreds and hundreds I've seen. really phenomenal
I just cant stop watching these clips, extraordinary, don’t think i realised what a genius he is. Wonderful 👏
One of the most amazing and impressive shows I've seen in my whole life. Re-watching now gives me shivers and tears in my eyes. Thanks for the upload!

It is fantastic that you were able to see the Heads 6 times. They, along with Pink Floyd are probably the top two bands I wish I could have seen live.
I am so excited, I've been a fan for forty years!
I have seen American Utopia three times live with a fourth time scheduled in January. David B and his brilliant group are priceless artists whose optimism is all too rare during these horrific times. Thank you David and god bless you!
Saw it on Sky Arts. BRILLIANT!!!
I really enjoy this group ..I wish they would make new álbum,2022
UNBELIEVABLE. FANTASTIC! HITS ME BETWEEN THE EYES. BEYOND BELIEF! THIS IS THE ULTIMATE ROCK FOR ME. ONCE IN A LIFETIME. L I F E EXPLAINED!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for great uplifting music like this awesome stage show. Brilliantly revived songs from a great artist. Looked like they had real fun doing this. 😁😁👍
We are bringing this back...Same as it ever was~~~
It's impressive for a man of his age to do performance art that is so physical.
After all these years...same as it ever was...same as it ever was. ....and the days go by once in a lifetime...#sameasiteverwas
He's brilliant!. Composer, lyricist, performer, etc.

I saw the Stop Making Sense tour and this is bringing back all the vibes. Wish I could see this show. Thanks for sharing!💖

The show in NYC runs until Jan 2020 ❤️ : there’s still time to see it . Satellite Radio was buzzing about it today
Loved my live Melbourne journey with these guys. David Byrne is a treat. The ginger at the back keeps drawing me though. Fabulous performer
Seen every concert from '77 to present (pre covid-19)

David Byrne would make an interesting president.
So sad that he can’t run. Born in Scotland

Show pra ver e ouvir... Oportunidade de ouvir este ícone e suas performances, muito booom!!!
I bet the two amazing pro dancers were in awe of David’s moves !
I would have given my right arm to have witnessed this....!
Fantastic!
Do you make model airplanes?
Maestro por siempre...
He has immense presence.
Just love it!!!
The big David Byrne. 😍

Love this!

I really enjoyed his book on urban design and transportation - "The Bicycle Diaries."
Used to see him in NYC all the time on that bike of his.
Fans of SMS have to admit this a strange departure, but I’d still be in awe if I were this close to David.
Eu fui!!! Muito bom!!! Obrigada por postar!
my mum n dad got their first vhs video recorder and the first video cassete i put in was the stop making sense concert my mate borrowed me so i could test it and show them how to work it happy days 1986 it was chunky toploader to 😂😂

Lyrics
( Home )
This Must Be The Place
( Naive Melody )
Talking Heads
Home is where I want to be
Pick me up and turn me round
I feel numb, born with a weak heart
I guess I must be having fun
The less we say about it the better
Make it up as we go along
Feet on the ground
Head in the sky
It's ok I know nothing's wrong... nothing
Hi yo I got plenty of time
Hi yo you got light in your eyes
And you're standing here beside me
I love the passing of time
Never for money
Always for love
Cover up + say goodnight... say goodnight
...
Home, is where I want to be
But I guess I'm already there
I come home, she lifted up her wings
Guess that this must be the place
I can't tell one from another
Did I find you, or you find me?
There was a time before we were born
If someone asks, this where I'll be where I'll be
Hi yo we drift in and out
Hi yo sing into my mouth
Out of all those kinds of people
You got a face with a view
I'm just an animal looking for a home
Share the same space for a minute or two
And you love me till my heart stops
Love me till I'm dead
Eyes that light up, eyes look through you
Cover up the blank spots
Hit me on the head ah ooh

So cool - he didn't even need to wear shoes..!
Augusto ❤gatão
Byrne has invented dance tai chi!
Not fascism. Fascism is when you have orange skin, small hands and wear oversize ties. This is ART!
:)) they are doing the "rotating cross march" at some point though. Admittedly not a swastika though ;) .. just kidding of course. But it made me think.
Not fascism, fascists don’t have bare feet! Glorious art!
I think of them as wearing boots, Anne Hall.
There she goes Dont look Back..walking on down the Road...
Fuckin weird. I love it.
I think he was doing his version of the funky chicken.
My partner is a ginger!
this turned into a night of talking heads. stop making sense follow by True Stories..........still wonderful.after all these years.
o baixista é o Marcelo do Real Madrid! :D

ALAS,we all must travel life's dwindling road...is it me or has he lost a lil' snarkiness?
Eu fui....

David looks like his heart isn't in it anymore.
