    I thought he did an amazing job. An even better job than Jack, surprisingly.
    He seems like such a great and smart person. Angelina couldn't have casted anyone better than Miyavi!

      I know right. as much as I love Jack's role, Miyavi stole the show for me because he was so intense and aggressive yet you also feel sympathy for him as well it was like you question his motives at every scene. Will he be nice, will he beat up on Louie, where he at...I had all these mixed emotions when I first saw this film. overall this was indeed a great film.

      Jack hardly spoke that’s why he did better.

    I've been watching a lot of Miyavi interviews for his role in Unbroken and I just have to applaud how expressive his answers are and how he delivers them with such confidence and belief. So much love!

    why do you guys piss your pants because miyavi is not 'fully' japanese? he is half japanese half korean BUT WHY DOES THAT EVEN MATTER?! jack oconnell isnt american but he plays an american ... so what? just enjoy the movie or dont watch it if you dont want to.

      It's also rather annoying people mind Miyavi for being half Korean, especially considering the discrimination going in Japan towards Koreans and Chinese people...

    I am full Korean, followed Miyavi's music for years. But, those that believe that he is only Japanese need to learn who he is. He even gave an interview and even spoke in Korean to the Korean fans about how he is half Korean and half Japanese. He is like most Zainichi's that state they are Korean but was raised with Japanese traditions. Don't matter either way, he doesn't care about nationalistic pride like most of you people who aren't even Korean nor Japanese that try to fight on his behalf. I will listen to what he said and how he expressed that being both has its benefits. He is a true human being, gtfo with your cosplay passions and decide to dictate any of our traditions and beliefs based on your opinions about bloodlines.

      Is this true? Like, based in almost all articles about him says that his father is half korean and half japanese and his mother 's japanese... (I dunno If that 's true, by the way)

      he’s more of a 1/4 korean though.
      it’s his father that is half-half. his mum is japanese and his father is half japanese and half korean, i’m pretty sure that won’t make him half korean?

    I'm glad I saw this interview, after watching the film I was so distressed by this character, this is a great interview because Miyavi gives such a good explanation. It's a great movie with great actors and beautifully directed by Angelina Jolie, very intense and I'm also glad to have known Louie's story.

    The guy did a great job in the movie Unbroken, ideal for the part (reminded me of Ryuichi Sakamoto in Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence. also set in a WW2 Jap POW camp) but watching this video he has an unsettling, almost unnerving female beauty in his face. Superb English.

    In my opinion, Miyavi has a kind of typical Japanese face like Kame and the feeling that makes me pretty sured he is the Japanese but not any other Asian country. Actually it was really surprise me that he is the half. In short,Miyavi is Japanese and has deep connection with America &Korea. I think that is the best conclusion.

    Miyavi should be proud of his role (of course not what it portrays) because he helped expose the injustice and atrocities of the Imperialists who once ruled his country. The Japanese themselves in no way don't endorse any form of abuse. Miyavi should be proud of being a Japanese.

    Cmon, shut up you crazy kpop fans! Jpop and jrock was on boom before korean pop culture spread around (copying at first japanese pop) and Miyavi was the goddes of jrock. And he is a very good singer and guitarist. Back then he was super popular with his crazy japanese looks and tatoos. You know nothing about him and trying to relate him to koreans even though he has nothing to do with korea being born and raised in japan and being super popular japanese rocker.
    Now, tell me at least one well known korean rocker as talented as Miyavi?

    • @jamesw6666
      @jamesw6666 7 лет назад +1

      Wow you sound so bitter and you don't know anything. Miyavi has acknowledged that he is half Korean and his father's surname is Lee. Check his instagram account he even writes his name as Miyavi Lee Ishihara. He's proud of his Korean heritage and his Japanese heritage. Also, it's totally incorrect to suggest that Korean popular music copied Japanese popular music. It had a much bigger influence from American pop in the 90s than Japanese music. Sorry to burst your bubble but Japan is obsessed with Korean music and they're the biggest consumers of it in the world now. Korea tends to prefer hip hop, pop, and indie music rather than rock but they've produced far more famous globally known artists than Miyavi so get your facts straight.

    A lot of Koreans born and raised in Japan are not loyal to the nation and people of Japan. That "IS" a big problem. I do not know about Miyavi case.
    However, Koreans show too complicated attitudes towards to Japan and Japanese.
    So Miyavi can be same even though he acts like an inocent Japanese.

    • @xei862
      @xei862 9 лет назад

      how can a korean be japanese? they are two places and he is one person. where he was born is what determines naturalization. Like it or not he's a natural-born japanese. Deny it
