-TikTok is ruining the music scene. Maybe this isn’t unpopular but it has to be said. These songs rely on a catchy line and hope people will use them and get viral. Boring.
-Kpop artists work too damn hard and deserve better treatment from their managers and labels.
-Normani needs to change her label. dropping one single and disappearing after it is doing a lot of damage to her longevity.
-Little Mix is one of the most underrated girl groups in history despite them being the most consistent in their performances and vocal abilities.
-Same people who cringed at one direction are now Harry styles sluts.

i agree with literally all of these, especially the one about tiktok, harry styles, and taylor swift.
      - while i don't mind tiktok as a platform for skits and comedy and stuff like that, artists shouldn't have to be depending on it for their songs to chart or get successful.
      - yeah, i watched the blackpink documentary recently and it really made my heart break realizing that a lot of kpop artists like them are probably going through the same things.
      - yes. just yes. she has so much potential, but she isn't using it!!!
      - definitely. the lyrics of their songs aren't excellent, but they're still good, and their vocals are just out of this world.
      - exactly!! but that might have been because his singing and lyricism has really matured since one direction. still doens't change ths facts though, the people who hated on one direction are now stanning harry styles.
      - i stand with this one the most. people keep saying that she uses merch and stuff to promote herself, but there's a reason she got famous that stands out the most, and that is her songwriting ability!! the all too well 10 minute version just proves it, people aren't saying they cried listening to it for nothing. and folklore and evermore mainly focused on her lyricism, and i'm so happy about that, because it just proved to the haters that she didn't get famous for nothing.
glad to see someone that shares so many of my opinions!!

On one hand they’re good for funding your projects and distributing your music, but on the other hand they’re in it for the business, not necessarily the artist, so it’s easy for a record label to just say “we don’t want this song on your album, so it’s not gonna be on the album.” And that can also be detrimental. i completely agree with the Kpop one, and mind you, before I got into it at around 2018 I was one of the people who constantly talked shit about it but these artists are giving us ERAS and MOMENTS like the pop girlies used to do back in the day .. especially the Kpop girls, they really go all out with EVERYTHING from the photoshoots to the concepts to the music videos and the performances, damn, even the physical albums and the packaging is more exciting than what the western girls are giving.. i really recommend getting into it for anyone who misses eras and moments in pop music.

i honestly like where music is at rn, the lack of music videos shows how artists are focusing ONLY on the music and letting the story speak for itself. i also love how many pop artists are trying out experimental folky & indie ballads. i honestly think some of the things from the early 2000s come off as very cheesy nowadays like ed sheeran is still doing music that sounds like it came from that era on his "=" album and that was horrible IMO.

@@saxx9088 i disagree. I think because everyone is making music in their bedrooms, everyone is taking inspiration from everyone else. so much originality is lost because people are just trying to replicate what is already there, from cheesy lyrics to repetitive instrumentals. and the rare occasion of a song being different, they blow up- then everyone starts trying to replicate them and the cycle repeats. i just feel being forced to go in a studio and record live instruments brought songs to life and having such quick access is only making music that would chart or stream well and less of music that is actually unique and personal and original

I think a very unpopular that needs to be talk about is artists denouncing the actions of their fanbase. I think they have a moral responsibility to shame their fans who say/do horrid things in their honor. Like some of these fan bases are actually disgusting. Like we will never know the true story of Jake and Taylor, and it’s really none of our business. And, I wish Taylor would publicly shame some of her fans for attacking Jake and his new love interest. Same for Olivia, she had to know her fans were being unbearable to Josh and she said nothing. It just seems unfair that all their business is out there for people to humiliate and decimate them. I’m not saying it’s their faults, I appreciate them writing for they feel and I know neither of them ever flat out say who their songs are about but they know investigative their fans are. And I think it’s time they speak up about the maltreatment their songs have caused the people on the opposite end of it.

Now people are defending her but like it's still that she isn't succesful, but at least she is HAPPY, so i guess that's what matters the most, but i really hope she'll blow everyone away with next music i have a weird feeling she is coming for next #1:)

i think why we got so much music this year / why its kinda becoming over saturated is because litterally everyone has released an album this year ( if not last year )because we are finally seeing what quarntine inspired for all them. like every major artist that has been slient for years ( cough adele, cough lorde ) dropped something. so it's nice to get music from everyone but i think having litterally every major artist drop this year was almost too much for everyone
