Angela's grandfather in law must be looking down from heaven - and just bursting with pride. She has taken his lessons so far and shares them so willingly with others.
I love to watch your videos. You give me confidence to actually attempt a quilt for my first grandchild. I'm appreciative that you share your knowledge with us, and I was very surprised to hear your father in law taught you! 🙂 that's special!
This is the hardest part for me & the most daunting, and the reason I put off the quilting! Of course we all want our quilts to look as beautiful as yours, I know I need a lot more practice! Thanks Angela!
Your skills are incredible... DUH, we already know this! But it bears repeating!! Thank goodness that your are just as skilled in articulating and teaching your skills to us!! Well done, YOU!
I just finished my first pieced quilt top, I feel lost. I'm nowhere near doing the amazing work you do, but I am inspired. Thank you!! Quiting brings me joy
You said something profound here "the best way to finish a quilt is to start it". So my question and big ask for the next video is, how to organise yourself and the space (not all of us have a studio like you do) to keep quilting and not to come up with excuses to put it off.
I just don't know how you guide the fabric so effortlessly! I have the silicone sheet, I use gloves with little dots, I fixed my free motion foot (apparently I could make it looser so it glides along the fabric. (who knew?) My FM looks so choppy and sloppy and I don't know how to fix it! I have a Janome 7700, so it should be able to do it. Do different FM feet make a difference? I've been using one with a big clear circular piece the size of a quarter.
Another great video - you've inspired me to practice free motion quilting after watching your videos - you make it look easy and fun. I've also purchased your ruler and am practicing with them as well. I find there are a lot of half square triangles in quilting - can you please do a video on the best way to quilt those? Thanks.
Awesome video! Before I even think about my nine patch quilt, I’ve got a a question; have you got any tips for this situation; When I am free motion quilting (I am trying it on a quite big scrap piece of fabric cuz it’s my first), I don’t have enough space on my sewing machine surface to move around the fabric as much as I would like to manipulate the quilt sandwich better. Looking at your machine, I see that it’s depth is big and (and also it has a wide area reaching far to the right of the machine to give you more space) is great for moving the quilt sandwich around freely. Do you have any tip that you can share with me on this matter? 😊
do you ever sleep? how do you have time for all of this quilting?! 3 kids .. oh yeah and you just wrote another book in that free time between videos ... you are amazing!
Could you tell me where you found that letter organizer? I’ve looked everywhere I could think with no luck. Thank you for all your tips! You’re so talented.
I would love to see your take on a Lone Star quilt! I need to finish one from my grandmother and I want to do something interesting but still honor the pattern. What's your take?
I love your quilting! You are so talented. However, I don’t like heavy quilting on my quilts. I think it makes them too stiff and heavy, not soft and snuggly. Do you do quilting that is not so heavy?
How do I keep my quilt from getting too stiff when using the machine quilting. Due to carpal tunnel issues, I can no longer do the hand-quilting I love to do... and feel. So soft.
unfortunaly I only have a small sewing machine (Pfaff Passport 2.0) ... so I don't have much space to lay down the quilt evenly. My biggest problems are wrinkles and the moving of the different layers, no matter how much I pinned them together ... it makes me nuts. Is there in any case, a way to prevent that?
Thank you Angela, you are just the best :-p I have a star quilt that I made using the binding tool. It’s been sitting because I can’t figure out how to quilt it! Have you ever quilted one? Or quilted a Lone Star 💫 quilt?
I was having the same problem, found out my machine didn't like a certain kind of thread, changed to Aurifil and it worked fine, and not as much lint, either!

I love the way you are willing to share and teach, Thank you! You take the fear away...

You clearly have a lot of talent and experience. Just look at all of that quilting with the different designs in such small spaces! You go girl!!

Thanks for continuing with another Challenge! I had a ball with the first one. I cannot wait to participate in this one too.
I love nine patch quilts too. I made one for my sone in his favorite colors when he moved far from home. Thanks for your Quilt Shows. You are awesome!

Lol, let's just say that I drink a lot of caffeine!

Thought provoking. TFS! 💕

Same, feels like cardboard so changed my quilting style. Not all of us can hang them on walls
I have read it has more to do with the batting one uses. Some make it stiffer.

Blew my mind Angela thanks
Any ideas for quilting a herringbone quilt?
I have a problem on how to quilt a queen size 8 point star, what would you suggest? Thank you Lynda
Where can I find the pattern and fabric that was used for the quilt you are sitting next to?
That was a lot of info. Thank you.
Thanks so much! I am so glad you found it helpful!
what is the quilt that angela layed on the chair behind her called? got some jelly rolls to use up and looks like it would be a joy to free motion :)

Starfire Hi have you tried either spray basting before pinning or using fusable batting ?
I love the quilt (with the navy) behind you....what is the name of that?
Scrambled Plus sign. I wasn’t patient enough to finish watching before I asked the question....oops
Where can you get the pattern on that "Camo" Quilt?!
Thank you Angela, you are just the best :-p I have a star quilt that I made using the binding tool. It’s been sitting because I can’t figure out how to quilt it! Have you ever quilted one? Or quilted a Lone Star 💫 quilt?

Great tips!!
Where can i find the Camo quilt pattern?
It's in the book, " Nine-patch Revolution" here's a link to it: quilting-is-my-therapy.myshopify.com/search?q=nine-patch
I love doing free motion but I have a problem on how to quilt without breaking thread, any tips ?
I was having the same problem, found out my machine didn't like a certain kind of thread, changed to Aurifil and it worked fine, and not as much lint, either!
Ethan's for this video !!
I loved that I could just purchase the book without having to have log in information for the site, there are soooooo many websites and passwords 😣
I give... I bought your First set of rulers, no luck for me. Anyone want them?
I love your tutorial s though.
