Ok ....please allow me to complete the infos on that song....... first: one of the rare songs that was performed by all three vocalists. second: one of the rare songs that does not base on an idea of Tuomas. in 1999 Tuomas was asked by his label (Drakkar Records) to write a song about the total eclipse of the sun in 1999. They asked him: Please not longer than 3mins (radio-friendly). Tuomas did it in nearly 4:30mins. third : Total eclipse of the sun occured in 1999 over northern Europe with its peak of 2:23sec in Romania.......once in a lifetime.... That was at the 11th aug 1999 (223rd day of the year).....222 days of light will be desired by a night....... Fun fact: there had been 3 Concorde aircraft in the air who followed the shadow and enlarged the time for the passengers to nearly 15mins. For me personally: I will never forget that magic moment.....seemed the earth stands still...total silence......even the birds were quiet.....magical. Its a magical song with a great solo of Emppu...showing his masterclass ..... Bringing variations of the theme and adding his own notes in full harmony with the theme.....expressing great emotions with quite few notes........simply but perfectly performed....... I saw the total eclipse in France...magical, spiritual. I stood on a hill and saw the dark coming with high speed. It's daytime and it looks like someone dims the light and for minutes it is completely dark. This song is very special to me.

Because that's the amount of time that went by before the eclipse (11th of August was the 223rd day of the year 1999). At that time their german record Label asked to write a song about it. One of the terms was "not longer than 3 minutes", Knowing Tuomas, he made it 4+ But it's also true that everyone has a different view of this song. Usually something they have experienced themselves.
