I believe they will be fine. Last year they had those losses to Marshall and Stanford and were able to get to 9 wins with arguably less talent. As long as the same mistakes don’t continue to happen, they will be fine.
The real key is defense. ND has one of the best secondaries out there. Duke qb main threat is his legs. Could be close first half but ND will have their way in the second half.
As a Buckeyes fan, I would like to say 🫡 to ND for a scrappy and hard-fought game. Could've easily gone the other way. ND has to put last week behind them fast Duke doesn't care about what did or didn't happen last week. It's like that in Big Boy College football.

Not much! Mitchell Evans is a starter and had a great game against OSU. They kept mitch out the week before that is why Holden played a lot. Holden had a few big plays against NC state b/c they focused on everyone else more. TE play at ND starts with being a good blocker. That is why kevin baumann fell out of favor some b/c of weak blocking. Kevin hurt for the year so its a moot point now.
I think the 10 men on the field is being talked about too much. Overall the irish made way too many mistakes and didn't make any big plays leading up to that last play of the game. Irish could have had two ints, 1 at the end of the first half which would of been an incredible catch but he had his hands on it and also one to seal the game in the fourth. Offensively there was a lot of miscues. And Sam Hartman is at the center of it. The biggest blunder is Hartman not noticing the play clock running down and freeman using a time out on either the last drive or second last drive for the irish. For a 5th senior that is inexcusable
As you implied Joel, a high profile football program like ND is NOT the ideal place to learn (w/ on the job training) to be a head coach. And yes - ND and their fan base is going to have to expect and accept gaffes like this past Saturday while Freeman is learning his trade. Mind you, ND decided to hire a "ND-man" (Jack Swarbrick) as their AD rather than find an experienced AD back in 2008. It does NOT appear as though Swarbrick learned some of those valuable lessons himself after the first 15 years of his ND tenure. Hopefully Freeman will be a much faster learner that Swarbrick....we'll see.

Notre Dame is the better team on paper but Duke is gonna win, probably comfortably. That game was too physically and emotionally devastating to fully recover from in a week and Duke is definitely good enough to capitalize. It'll be the second year in a row that OSU is going to essentially be responsible for 2 Notre Dame losses
As a Michigan fan I was hoping ND would win. I would of enjoyed giving ohio fans a hard time on RUclips. I believe ND will be fine and probably run the table especially if they beat USC.
The answer is no. They lost the biggest game on the schedule in heart breaking fashion because of what they did wrong and not because of what Ohio state did right. Notre dame will lose 2 more games before the season is over.
