    Man, some of these exchanges are so fluid. Very cool work. And thanks for the extra editing to add the “hit markers”. I know it’s extra work but it makes it easier to follow.

      @@SellswordArts I think you worry too much about what other people think man, the internet really exposes you to people from all backgrounds and demeanors and there will ALWAYS be people who just seek confrontation for the sake of it, or feel like they need to add something of their own to a conversation... when you've got thousands of people watching, some of them can get pretty nitpicky or nonsensical or just plain rude. I think you make great content and I watch you pretty regularly and I think if people want to go after you for a spelling mistake or want to act like they know fencing better than you do based on anime-level moves, you're much better off just ignoring them and not showing them their words have an effect on you (because this is exactly why trolls do what they do). Even when people aren't trolling, you can drive yourself crazy trying to please everyone and get your points across so that everyone understands them... because there will be people out there always who disagree literally just for the sake of disagreement. Just keep on doing what you love man, it's abundantly clear that you're both passionate and knowledgable and there will always be people who will enjoy watching you for just that reason

      Short-Man rage can take some people by surprise, used to spar with a man who was 5'1" and had decided "If I lose the range game by default, then I just won't play it."
      He preferred dual hand axes, and would just rush up crawl inside your armor with you. I tried using a shield once to keep him at bay, that maniac just peeled it off me like he was a goddamned can opener.

    • @valandil7454
      @valandil7454 2 месяца назад

      In general the only advantage is that you're smaller so harder to hit, but you're right smaller people do have to change the way they fight to make up for their disadvantages in reach and mass.
      Sadly it's not true that larger people are in any way slower, bigger sometimes means faster unless they're carrying excess weight. Computer games get that wrong a lot

    • @Aquilenne
      @Aquilenne 2 месяца назад

      @@GrimDim It's more that shorter people have an easier time having quicker footwork since their natural step size is smaller. Taller people that train to take shorter steps eventually match it though.

    Nice 🤘💀 seems like you were hanging out in fools guard a lot. I would think that a high guard would work better against a taller opponent so you could cover you high line? It clearly works for you, So don't mind me asking but what's the strategy there?

    • @valandil7454
      @valandil7454 2 месяца назад +2

      It looked like his opponent despite being taller prefers a taller standing stance so isn't making as much use of his reach, so even though he's shorter he had a lower wider stance so the longer reach when they closed so fool's guard was a good choice 🙂
      I'm not as athletic as he is either so I prefer a taller standing stance, isn't as tiring but fitter people will have a reach advantage

      @@valandil7454 That makes sense, he went back and forth between long point and fools guard a lot so that would give you more reach.
      Few people are as athletic as David lol. He's a great fencer I didn't mean to sound critical, I was just wondering why tactically would you do that. I think you explained pretty well. Thank you 🤘💀
