OMG I got so much tidying up to do. I have a mess in all the tunnel seed room, I have stuff coming out of my ears. But its all in hand Tanya. Great episode. Its always good to have a plan. Mine this year is starting to take shape slowly. Great video enjoyed this. Stay in touch :)
thank you tanya and yes, we all have a wee bit of decluttering to accomplish...be it gardens...houses...closets...our thoughts...the new year is a good time to let it go and feel better for it...donating the garden things to a children's school is nice... my yarn stash gets weeded every year and i bring it to the local senior center...good luck to all the lovely greens followers out there...have a great week
January is a great time for ‘spring cleaning’ garden stores, tools, and materials. It’ll set the stage for organized gardening come spring. Have fun tidying :)
Such a timely video for me...I have so much stuff..I try and clear every year but I am just not brutal enough! New year ..new resolve. Loving your scarf.
Thank you :) It’s all too easy to accumulate ‘stuff’ - especially gardening stuff. This is such a good time to go through it too, before spring arrives with all its tasks and excitement.
You are right on. I pretty much try to live by the same methods of keeping things tidy. My secret is to always pick up after your self and put things back into a place where they belong. It does take effort though. Thank you for sharing.
The long distance hiking/backpacking community have a saying; "If you *need* it, then take it; if you only want it, then leave it behind". A lighter pack-load allows for a more enjoyable hike, and increases the odds for completing the trek. We all *want* more; sometimes we can do just as well with less...

Haha. Spent the day sorting my garden lean-to & shed today - using the #konmari method. Got switched on to it by my daughter & have been using it in my house with great effect so far. Not sure everything I have kept sparks joy but have found the concept of gratitude does help to let go of things I no longer need.
I am now decluttering my home. But Garden is my husband's department. Its too cold now below zero temperature to be out gardening. I admire that you can do it despite the weather.
Swiss Homegarden It’s fairly mild here in the winter but recently it’s been unusually warm. 8C on some days so that makes it easier to work outside. Happy indoor-decluttering :)
Wish i lived closer, as a new gardener would love those vegetable books :-) Every year i have clear outs and box it up and try to do a boot sale or give to charity shop. Great video x
We give STACKS of them away at our annual Seed Swap. They’re a danger to clutter though, as much so as cook books. So often we go online to get gardening advice and leave them to collect dust.
Another enjoyable video, Tanya, thank you. I'm finally on the road to actual gardening. I bought 2 types of organic arugula seeds. I have the coco mat hanging pots. Once the weather stabilizes I'll get the soil and sow these babies. I'm so excited! Cheers, Ardith
Great news! If you’re sowing outdoors, google your last frost date and sow after then. I also have a piece on beginner gardening that I think you should read: lovelygreens.com/15-mistakes-beginner-gardeners-allotment/
Sure need to get on with some of these. Have lots of seed, but had few surgeries last year so the cleaning up is a must. Only 1/3 hectare so not huge, but feels it once gets out of hand. Love the vids. Happy New Year. 👍
New year, new tidy garden :) It’s actually a really cleansing and calming exercise. Perfect for getting you back in track after your surgeries. Happy New Year!
I have a hard time getting rid of plastic pots , because I start my seeds indoors . What is your advice on that ? How many is enough to store for this purpose?
Lol, I have had her book in a nightstand drawer for years...something ironic about that. I need to declutter and tidy a shelving unit in mygarage that I used to use for seed starting as I just received a seed order and have no idea if my heat mats and lights still work. Fingers crossed that they do.
I have so must stuff that I have accumulated over time and I can get rid of most of it. Can you please give me the name of the music that is playing at the beginning of the video please. Thanx in advance
I’ll have a look later for you. Start going through the easiest items first: pots, trays, tools, garden furniture and decorations, misc items, seeds, plants not yet planted, plants in situ, anything sentimental
I to am guilty of hoarding things so giving up things Is some times hard of course I have lots of gardening things I could be getting rid of because of the nice days we have had I could be doing that
I DO need to give the garden a good tidy. However, as anyone who's spent a reasonable amount of time in Japan can attest, there is a certain irony in calling it the "Japanese Art of Decluttering"... The average Japanese home or urban area gives new meaning to the term "clutter".

Enjoyed your video Tanya. I like how you interpreted the Marie Kondo method to your garden. Happy Decluttering.

Thanks Tania good timing! I feel motivated to get stuck in and change and tidy my gardens the way I would like to see them.

Seeds are the hardest to part with!!!!those little precious jewels have so much potential and I always seem to find “just one more” that I need.
I know!! So hard :) It’s fun giving or trading them though. And so many more seeds get a chance to grow instead of languishing in our cupboards

That’s been a major lesson for us living in a smaller house and garage. It can get untidy so much quicker if things aren’t put away immediately.
a very useful video , thank you so much ! Happy gardening ! :)

Really great subject for right now! Thanks for the motivation. I realized I really am a hoarder. I'm not giving up on seeds though.

Ugh...I HAVE to tidy up soon...I make baby steps in progress every day though
They say creative minds are expressed in clutter! An artist friend of mine once shared a photo of her attic studio on Facebook. Oh my word 😂

Haha :) They definitely get sorted last then.

I clear it out regularly. I don’t like seeds going to waste so give my extras away at our annual seed swap
Decluttering me by talking nonsense . No thanks.
Obviously not past step one 😂
