No one is ever really ready for "no one but you" or " mother love"... doesn't Matter. They are so good, I listen and cry.
This definitely isn't what I think you're thinking of - this was written for Highlander (about the immortal character), and you've done the live performance already (one of my favorites!) It was before Freddie's diagnosis and not about him at all, though it definitely took on a whole new meaning after his death. Fans came to the gate of his house in London after his passing was announced and left flowers and cards and played Queen music, and this was one of the songs. The tribute song the rest of the band wrote for Freddie is "No One But You (Only the Good Die Young)", and THAT is certainly a tear-jerker, particularly if you watch the official video. The other super-hard one to watch is "These Are the Days of Our Lives" (the same title as the documentary you've started, yes), which is Freddie's last appearance on video and one of the last songs he was able to record. "Mother Love" was the final song, actually - he wasn't able to finish it. He left the studio because he was too tired to continue, said he would come back to finish, but never did. Brian sings the last verse.
You are not yet ready for "Only the Good Die Young". Don't watch that one until you have viewed almost all of Queen and have gotten to know much more about Queen and Freddie. The same with "Mother Love" which was the very last song that Freddie ever sang. They are both beautiful songs but you are not ready for them yet.

“Mother love” was his last tape recording, but he couldn’t finish... was Brian who sang the last verses.
“These are the days of our lives”, was his last video, which he finished looking us directly into the eyes, and saying “I still love you”.
And “A Winter’s Tale," was the last song Freddie wrote, whose official video shows Freddie's handwriting.
This song was inspired by the beauty of winter at the Lac Leman (or Geneva), in Montreux, Switzerland .., where he was recording and stayed until three weeks before he returned to London ... to die, on November 24, 1991.
“The hardest track to record was probably 'A Winters Tale' for emotional and technical reasons. The singing was done over two weeks, every two days some rest for Freddie and then waiting for him to be well enough to come and sing a little bit more again.”

No One But You is the song you're thinking of! This one's definitely a tearjerker because (like many of Queen's songs) it could perfectly apply to Freddie even though it was made years earlier. But No One But You makes it look like child's play, to be honest. It's a gorgeous song and should absolutely be listened to, but having tissues on hand is a non-negotiable for it. It's the most touching tribute I've ever heard though and is perfect for a good cry.
Also, major condolences and love to all those in the Off Tap Life fam who have recently lost people (and doggos, of course) they love. ❤️
Yes we've done this before, but the live version. The song you're thinking of is No one But You (Only the Good Die Young), and honestly, I don't think you're anywhere near ready for it. It's a real heartbreaker and was the last appearance of John. Many boxes of tissues will be required.

Me too!! I love this song and the video is better because of Brian and Freddie singing. The candles and the Children's Choir make it even more beautiful. I don't know how much the children are singing in the video but just the sign of them, is so peaceful.
I already knew the song when I went to see the movie Highlander because I had already bought the album. I loved listening to it on the LP - yes, LP - but nothing compared to listening to it during one of the most exciting scenes in the film. YOU NEED TO SEE HIGHLANDER !!!!

Brian's voice is so beautiful. And so is the song, & this official version. I've read that it is the #5 most requested funeral song. But the live one you did before was sung with such passion by Freddie. Both require a box of tissues close to hand, but for the other two that people have mentioned here, you might need a big bandana, or a dishtowel, to soak up the tears.
Not knowing why you’re crying when you think about Freddie’s death is truth. Nothing can explain the injustice of it. I grieve daily. Makes me cry regularly. Never felt so strongly about anyone I’ve never met before, ever. Crazy really. No words can explain the pain.
You probably played the live at Wembley version. On a good note, let's all give it up with how beautifully Brian May and Freddie Mercury sang this song... a big hand for how hot Freddie Mercury looked in this suit. SNAZZY!!

After the end of the movie Bohemian Rhapsody,they rolled the credits and played this song and The Show Must Go On...immediately started crying...I had tucked these away and forgot how beautiful both songs were❤...Always R.I.P. Freddie

First I want to say to Karen, Phoebe and Steven how sorry I am for the loss of your family members. I hope I don't offend anyone but I have always considered pets family members.
After going back and rewatching the reaction; well actually it's like watching for the first time because I get so involved in the chat I miss alot of Faith's reaction; I became very aware of how real Faith is. Anyway I want to thank you Faith for always be real and being honest in your comments and being real in showing your emotions. I think that it's one of the things that makes your reactions stand out from all the others. People trust you because of that honesty. There's no pretense. It's just you being you.
When you hear Freddie sing like he does in this song his loss becomes even more heartbreaking. What an amazing talent and human being (I think he was human, not sure sometimes) we lost in his passing. There will never be another. But I'm so glad we still get to have him on video and have access to all the music he made with Queen and his amazing solo work. Long live the Legend in our hearts.

As others have advised, you’re confusing it with ‘No one but you’ written by Brian with some help from Roger and recorded years after Freddie’s death. Brian didn’t sing at Freddie’s funeral
The powerful song is likely 'The Show Must Go On', which features as the final track on the final album 'Innuendo' while Freddie was alive. Freddie performs for the track, whilst very ill, by downing vodka and singing it in one single live take. It was released after his death as a single. The lyrics of it are very powerful.

The Song was recorded by Freddie in 1986. They used in the "Highlander" film. also in Tribute COncert for Freddie (sung by Seal) and in the "Bohemian Rahpsody" film when freddie discover that he has AIDS.

The movie was about immortals, who lived for hundreds of years, and was a massive hit. The only way they could die was to cut off their heads. . It is set mostly in the present and you see the hero’s long life through flashbacks. Thus the song WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER.

For the movie Highlander, about immortal men who battle throughout history to become the last one standing-The winner receives The Gift. This was made at least four to five years before Freddie died, at at least a year to two years before he became noticeably ill to the public at large. Freddie died in 91. Who wants to live forever was released in 86. It's alleged Freddie knew he had aids as early as 82. He didn't inform the rest of the band until Just before live aid in 85. The song was written by Brian for the movie highlander. Brian has come out and denied that he wrote the song as a song about Freddie and aids.
However, in hindsight it is an incredibley poignant song and could easily lead one to believe it was written by Brian for his very close and dear friend.
No One But You is the one you are talking about. It makes me cry every single time. This one is sad as well.

The movie was sad because the lead character was in mortal and he fell in love with a woman who was not..Sadly, this man stayed with her for life and when she was old and up until the day she died.
