Great seeing my friend and former bandmate, Waldo Weathers on baritone sax! James Brown shows are always non-stop energy! The hardest working man in show business even at his age! Great show!
You are right. What an amazing festival that was.. hard to believe it was 20 years ago. Still to this day I have not seen a full moon like that Sunday night. The Dead was so much better than Dead and Co. Change my mind. ⚡🚃🇺🇲🐺
I saw James about a year before this show at the Florida Music Harvest in Suwannee Music park. I couldn’t believe all the white people in the band. I am huge JB’s fan from the 60’s and 70’s and there really never white folks in the band. Still was a fun set.
I was a fan of James Brown, but this band was one I wasn’t a fan of. They didn’t possess that element of electricity that the previous bands had. They were good musicians, but this combination didn’t seem to have that JAMES BROWN style or sound. I say this with all due respect.
I completely disagree with you. I’m going to Mr. Brown’s biggest fan since 1968. I saw him over 100 times in concert in this band is just as good as any of his bands.
THE GODFATHER OF SOUL! Still was preforming great and dancing at 70!
I saw THIS band LIVE. They were DYNAMITE!!

JB handpicked those white folks, and he did a damn good job. Those are some soul Brothers.
Homme Astral sur terre
They didn't go to the bridge when they was suppose to on the first song... I wonder how much James dock them for that??? 🤣

The Soul Generals featuring Fred Thomas on bass who appeared on a fair few of his 70's hits.
Watch the fan-shot "Papa Don't Take No Mess" performance from the 2003 show in Italy.
I'll add that this show is badly mixed. It captured none of the groove.

I don't think so, this band was under his control 100% and it was better than the band in the mid-80s even though they had the great Maceo
фанера?
This Band Was NOT As Good As Maceo And The Horny Horns! NO!!
A lot of rehearsal goes into this.
