I will defintley be referring to this at some point in the future again Chris!!! I learned alot first time watching it through. Ive never messed with carbs except for cleaning my weedeater carb a time or two with 50/50 success rate 😂 these carbs have alot of small parts,so to speak. Hoing you have good luck with them. Excited to see how they work for you seeing how its the same carbs on my wifes motor we bought!

I guess it will be back up to a 280Z once you get those carbs back on it! 😂 My sister had a 280Z when we were teenagers. Very cool car!

      I’m going to start calling a 280Z with carbs a 270Z or a 280C

just saw this post. its basically a slide carb, like on motorcycles. they kinda suck because they wont put much for the L28. needle profiling is needed. also, you gotta take off the fuel bowl everytime u need to raise or lower the needle for "jet" adjustments--there are no jets, its just the needle. they're fine for just cruising around but definitely not for performance. dual 32/36 webers are way better. ive had both and now am na-t with a single 45mm dcoe draw thru setup. i'm going to attempt to build a dual dcoe setup next...

Way back when a friend of mine had a triumph TR4 with SU carburetors the little thing on the top had a little oil in it for dampning on how that slide picked up and fell down I think FYI.

So that carb is kinda like a hybrid between a car and a bike carb. Never seen anything like that before!

Well you attacked it, and came out alive. The dual 240Z carbs from 69-72, are dead simple, I have them on both my L-28 motors I put in my 280z and 240Z restomods.
Your in Texas, keep your eyes open for a set of 240z early cars. Yep yep I know some people are price gouging the hell out of these parts. But you will meet Texas Z club members with spares, they wouldnt , gouge you, because your a brother in the Z community. Even as a Z internet community on face book groups, somebody will release a set from their stash.
You know by now the dash pot dip stick is a dampener so the piston won't fly up on heavy throttle opening and cause an air gulp of lag, in power. Just use mystery oil or auto trans fluid/ a light oil.
Not synthetic oil as it will just shoot out the pin hole at the top.
At least those carbs are very cheap to buy as parts donor's
One last tip, when screwing down the air chamber dome. Tighten it like a head , criss crossing between the three screws. Always check the piston moves up with your finger and falls down . It's easy to tighten one screw and the piston gets jammed in the up position.
Man I just went thru the videos of your I've watched and forgot to like about 70%,
that's not like me, but I feel better now every Z vid ,got the thumbs up! This thing, will be scurrying ,around soon enough !

This z has a complex carb, clearly not keto friendly
