I have played Palworld for 60 hours since the recording of this video last week.

Hey Mitch, would you be interested in a breakdown of the Aztec mythological influences that Tlalocmon (a new Digimon) has? Judging by these videos, you're really into Digimon design and lore stuff and I do posts on Mesoamerican history and archeology, and have a big multi-page document on Tlalocmon since it's surprisingly well researched. If so, is there a place I can send that to you at?

If any of you have played through the Kingdom Hearts games, you could totally do one of these for the Heartless, Unversed, or Dream Eaters. Three different monster varieties. If you do heartless specifically and show some of the bosses, bonus points for guessing which Disney villain died to turn into it.
As a massive Kingdom Hearts fan, I approve of this idea

Well, dragon quest did come before pokemon, so thats also a factor (and no i dont mean dragon quest monsters, DQM is a refinement of the monster taming mechanics of DQV. Though if we wanted to be frank, shin megami tensei and cosmic soldier are the earliest examples of the genre, not pokemon)

Blame whoever replaced "slightly" with "much" on Tanzee's wiki page. I have both it and a video of the entire in-game Paldeck pulled up, and the game indeed says "slightly". Not sure why that was changed. Very strange...

No court has decided yet wether Palworld is guilty of plagiarism or not.
But knowing Nintendo they would already have done something if it was plagiarism. Pocket Pair was publicly developing the game for years, it‘s not some secret coming out of nowhere.
This video was recorded two days after Palworld became available on Steam, so it was still a very new topic with a lot of misinformation floating around.
You may be happy to know that we don’t consider the allegations to be true, and are thoroughly enjoying the game.

So fun fact, Warsect's partner ability description is just plain wrong. It does not apply fire damage to your attacks, it makes you more resistant to fire damage. Not sure how that got messed up in translation.

It seems weird, but grass/ground with added fire to your attacks makes Warsect a massive tank vs grass types (while you unload with fire damage). :D
Warsect's ability is actually a typo; it boosts fire *resistance* according to datamined info.

If anything, Warsect looks a lot like a Yokai. I'm thinking Hornaplenty.
1) Water, clearly, and I'm getting the feeling that B is the answer (though it might evolve into A), we'll see if this runs by Digimon logic than would instead make the correct answer C. / So it has chosen violence, then?
2) I'll guess they're creative in the worst ways and call it the Fern type. Well it's not a lemur, which would only make D more likely, but I'll guess B off of a good feeling. / Peace was never an option.
3) Ah, the Goodra who says "Yeeee". I would guess Normal/Poison type because no one would make that face a Dragon, and then I actually think A fits it rather well. / Siiiigh…
4) This beast is a Cosplay type and is actually a Heracross who thinks Umbreon is really cool. As for name, it's not a roach, but I've seen a beetle called a roach before, so I'm going D, but would also accept B. / War…war never changes.
5) This thing is Fluff/Fire type, and it sets itself on fire all the time. If it's not A, I will play this game just to name it A. / Vive la révolution!

I would have had 5 points instead of just 2 if I hadn't changed my answer on Kingpaca and Penking. I did guess Tanzee and Warsect correctly. Kingpaca I changed to Magifluff and Penking I changed to Capengin.

Parody vs Plagiarism can be a fine line. Sure the game rips off other games (mostly Ark). Every shooter ripped off doom and halo, i'm not complaining.
Plus the og Pokemon was quite similar to other JRPGs of the days, I didn't care then, still don't. Games fun af, I have 60 hours.
Personaly I'm with palworld. Palworld is to Pokemon as Evey fps is to doom. Pokemon dos not own the monster catcher genre, games like Coromon, Nexrmon (can't spell that one) and loomin legacy, are also monster catchers (some of which are turn based like Pokemon)Yet there not Pokemon copys. but I do thing some of them are somewhat inspired, but most of the ones Pokemon did (witch you can argue "copyed" dragon quest monsters) palworld based some of the some ones Pokemon based there mons on. (They both have sheep mons, but there not copyed from each other, there both from a "sheep", and Pokemon does not own sheep).

Penking is called Penking because Emperor Penguins exist.
A lot of them are really made to be like pokemon that exist but they really just made green cinderace and said yeah this isn't a copy

NGL, I actually love a *lot* of the Pals more than most Pokemon.
I honestly doubt the vast majority of them ripped off or were inspired by Pokemon. You have to take a step back and remember: There are 1000+ of these bastards, mostly based on real animals. You physically can't find an original design based off of an animal, without it being similar to 5+ Pokemon. Hell, some Pokemon ripped off earlier gen designs (if Gen 5 didn't exist and Palworld had Bouffalant, people would be crying it's a Tauros ripoff).
IMHO, Pals are original enough to be distinctly their own thing. And just because the one that's clearly based on the Egyptian god Anubis, doesn't mean it ripped off the Pokemon based on the Egyptian god Anubis. Pokemon doesn't own Anubis any more than Disney owns the Norse god Loki.
It's a good game, I don't think it's really plagiarizing Pokémon, it feels like a mix between all monster catching games. (Also, Pokémon has plagiarized real animals if you want to think about it, should all of the garbage bag producers of the world rise up against Pokémon?) Iunno, I think if they did, The Pokemon Company would have done something long ago.

I can't wait for people to get past the basic premise (which isn't as special as people like to think) and realize that the game is just average so I can stop having to hear about it every ten minutes.

Its Ark, Ark was huge. This is Ark with less of the bullshit the Ark devs ruined their game with. Its a great game.
If youve ever played the game, you will know its not "Pokemon with Gunz", its "Anime Ark"
