@@IndianMilitaryHistoryRespected Sir Greetings for the day! I am Abhimanyu Joon, resident of Vallabh Vidyanagar, District Anand (Gujarat). My grandfather Colonel Baljit Singh, who is the third-generation officer of my family fought for protecting the integrity and sovereignty of the nation during the 1965 Indo-pak war in Sialkot sector, as a member of 3 Madras regiment that constituted 69th Infantry Brigade; 6 Mountain Division. For his active participation in that war, he has been bestowed upon with SAMAR SEVA STAR, RAKSHA MEDAL and SAINYA SEVA MEDAL. I would like to request if you could make an animation video concerning Battle of Maharajke that was fought during 1965 Indo-pak war in Sialkot sector, inside the enemy territory. This battle led to capture of pakistani Rangers' Recruitment cum Training centre deep inside enemy territory and provided a launch pad for Indian tank regiments to launch further attacks further inwards leading some of the fiercest battles such as Battle of Phillora, which was the largest tank battle fought after World War -2 on the Indian subcontinent. Maharajke and its nearby towns and villages such as Phogawal, Kaloi, Phillora, Alhar remained under Indian occupation for 5 months from Sept'65 till Feb'66 when Taskhent pact was formally implemented. However the irony is the above operation of Maharajke led by the constituent units of 69th Infantry Brigade(6 Mountain Div) which included 3 Madras regiment, one of the oldest infantry units of Indian army could not find it due mention in the official war history that was written 20 years after the war by PhD students from JNU at the behest of Indian Defence Ministry. The role of COAS Gen Chaudhary was that he delayed IAF induction by personally briefing pilots at Pathankot without telling them the actual situation on ground. He returned to Delhi and wasted precious 4 hours to brief CAS and get approval. At worse IAF planes bombed Indian Armoured tanks and Tpt company at Chamb as there was no Intell briefing or Army coordination.

I had read that IAF main workhorse was Hawker Hunter a very capable aircraft and in all spec better than sabers but PAF performed better in all encounters. Indian mig 21 all armed with air to air missiles also couldn't mach PAF sabers. IAF lost four aircraft for every one of PAF.
Mig 21 was not inducted by then only supplied. IAF planes were old and legacy AC. IAF was undergoing modernization so retained all old aircrafts. PAF was leaner, had latest modern Ac with AAM and was closely integrated with PA. Also PAF objectives were very clear with offensive as main role to win air battle initially as they knew longer conflict would turn to IAF Favour due numerical factors. That explains the PAF high sortie rates in earlier phase, when IAF was just warming up. No excuse, in war one needs to be prepared.
