Indian Navy and Airforce Contribution should be also recognized by Indians sadly people when talk about Armed Forces mostly people thought about Indian Army only who fought on Ground Level. Which is Wrong Perception of Armed Forces.

It was Geneal JN Chowdhury who was the real hero of 65 war. Previously he won other two pivotal battles of independent India, Hyderabad and Goa liberation. However biased Congress and the Punjabi lobby instead made Harbaksh Singh the hero. 😢

The 1971 war is so interesting to me as an example of naval combat between WW2 and the Falklands. It is interesting to see how Khyber was sunk where a missile armed ship like the County class would have survived.

Col Thapa deserved a Gallantry award. To fight for so long and keep troops motivated is just hard to believe. An impossible task.

The true story behind the fall of Avdiivka, a frontline town since the orginal russian invasion in 2014: For 2 years, the 110th mechanised brigade defended the town. In the fall of 2023, the russians launched a massive assault (with, as far as I remember, over a hundred personnel), which was repelled. The russians continued to press, slowly gaining ground at a very high cost. The focus on the frontline quickly shited to Avdiivka. More units were rushed in to defend it and help the 110th, which was present in the south eastern and eastern parts of the town. The 47th mechanised brigade too was brought to action, and halted russian advances near the Teracon north east of Avdiivka and the neighboring villages like Stepove. In the end, the russians captured the teracon but could not capture Stepove until they took Avdiivka itself. The russians tried to encircle Avdiivka, but failed. So they had to go for a full frontal assault. The major development in my opinion came with the fall of Zenit, a heavily fortified Soviet era bunker south west of Avdiivka. The Ukrainians could not all get out in time, and the ones who could not escape were murdered by the russian occupiers. The next major development which occurred soon afterward was the fall of a south western block of the city (I think known as Cookeria). The russians infiltrated behind Ukrainian positions through unblocked sewers and captured that part of the town. The defense of Avdiivka was becoming more and more difficult. From what I can remember, the russians advanced to the river and from the north of the city, forcing a Ukrainian withdrawal. The withdrawal was not carried out in time though, and the russians were threatening the last dirt road available to Ukraine to withdraw. The 3rd Assault Brigade, brought from the Bakhmut direction along with the Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC) somehow defended the road using everything they had, and the withdrawal was complete, with heavy losses however. Also, Mike Johnson, speaker of the US House of Representatives refused to bring the Ukraine aid bill to the vote, which is no surprise considering he is a part of the MAGA circus. This lead to a shortage of weapons, which further worsened the situation.
