I agree w prosperity gospel being harmful.
I’m read the Bible a lot and feel it’s important to know ur Bible.
I listen to Micheal Todd a lot.
I don’t think he speaks about prosperity. In fact I have heard him say it’s not easy to Christian. That ur problems will not be solved w Christianity.
I think this is an important point that should be made.
I like his honesty. He speaks of giving ur life to Jesus.

I don’t agree with everything pastor Todd does nor all his doctrine. But I don’t think this is beneficial nor effective overall. It seems like smaller channels use these popular preachers as clout. I’m curious if you have ever reached out to pastor Todd rather than using his name and image as clickbait.
I believe there are more beneficial ways to make believers aware of false teaching without sowing discord.

This video is oozing with legalism and narrow mindedness. You say you out false teachers....Let me call you out. You are saying that whenever you see, "it's God's will for people to become whole, healthy and successful" It's an indication that you have to avoid Mike Todd. So what is the right one? Does that mean the right thing should be... "As part of Christ's work of salvation, it is the Father's will for believers to remain hurt and broken, physically unhealthy and unsuccessful in all areas of life." is that a better way of saying it? Have you ever heard them taking about managing your health and you finances and getting deeper with God so that you can expand God's kingdom in the marketplace? I don't know what your standard of a life in Christ is...but I think you glorify poverty too much. please take off that lens of legalism when you read your bible.

Calling out false teachers is a good thing, yet are you in Christ? The Bible says to work out your salvation 'with fear and trembling.' Can you think of anything more horrendous than to think you are saved, only to face God's wrath on that great and terrible day? Yet, how can you know you are going to heaven?
If you are a Christian doubting your salvation, the most important words in the Bible are when Jesus says, "Whoever believes in Me..." There is nothing like these four words in the entire Bible. It is the dividing line between heaven and hell, between God's favor and His wrath, between eternity in glory or eternal torment. Think - and pray! - dear Christian. Does your life truly fulfill these words of Christ? Are you certain? That is, referring to the Holy Spirit, Jesus said, "Whoever believes in Me shall have rivers of living water bubbling up inside Him." Are you, indeed, seated in the heavenlies with Christ? Do you know Him?
If you wonder if you are saved, do not fear, as the solution is simple. Jesus said, "My Father will give you the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks of Him." Is there anything more certain than the promises of God? If you have asked God, but not received, try thanking the Lord, as if you have already received the Holy Spirit. Get those rivers of life flowing in your life before you stand before Christ and hear those horrific words, "Depart from me; I never KNEW you." Work our your salvation with fear and trembling! Christ died on a Cross so that, just by asking, we may know Him. Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

Sir this is not calling out false teachers. This is basing all tour claim on one sermon illustration that went completely wrong which the man repented and owned up to. So if a pastor makes a mistake on stage he is suddenly a false teacher ? You also based other claim on how he chooses to use his wealth so he’s not allowed to show the world how God has blessed him Just because you don’t agree with his methods does not make one a false teacher. People who are agreeing with you without going and doing their own research they are the sheep being led astray

I agree with everything in the video. Completely agree. But I am nervous for this video series. You are placing yourself in an authoritative position by creating a series like this. This isn’t a bad thing necessarily, but I pray you feel the weight of it. These videos will cause division. I pray the division is good, necessary, and from God. But please, please be careful as you create this series. It’s not hard to create a highlight reel of bad moments from any preacher in the spotlight. A bad moment doesn’t mean someone is a false teacher. A disagreement over tertiary issues doesn’t mean someone is a false teacher.
I trust God has led you to create this series of videos. I just ask along with my brothers and sisters that immense prayer and counsel goes into each takedown. Unity in the Church is one of the most common themes of the New Testament. There are times to disrupt unity, but you must be CERTAIN that your disruption is an edifying act.

I don’t understand how believing that Jesus died so I wouldn’t like a thing on Earth is wrong? His message about vision was revelation that he got from the word and shared and I could agree. When God gives vision, the enemy will try to stop you. Take Joseph for example. His brothers sold him to slavery after God gave him dreams. Michael Todd had also apologized for the incident but has changed many lives for Jesus.

THIS video is dangerous. Having the balls publicly call out a false teacher is in itself dangerous, but the argument used is baseless and it panders to those who take pleasure in tearing down pastors who are in "elevated" positions. This type of video has NO VALUE in the edification of the church and Costi Hinn wears the badge of "false teacher exposer" with complete disregard for Matthew 18:15-17. Michael Todd is a professing Christian and anyone who has anything against him should go to him, not post a divisive video on RUclips.
I have listened to some teachings by Michael Todd but do not profess to be a Michael Todd follower. Like many other Christians I am wary of pastors with big platforms and my curiosity led me to watch this video, but instead of gaining clarity about Michael Todd's teachings and whether or not I should listen to him, I am left angered at the reckless & divisive behavior of Costi Hinn. Maybe I should make a RUclips video about him and HIS false teaching!
Digressing into the details of the video with the points Costi Hinn makes:
    1. Hinn Says that Michael Todd is funny and a good communicator who preaches to felt needs. This is style not substance. The real question we should be asking is "is the Gospel of Jesus Christ being professed and preached by Michael Todd?"
    2. Hinn ties Todd to Kenneth Hagin with ZERO evidence that Todd actually associates with Hagin. The connection? They are in the same geographic area. That would be like me tying Costi Hinn to the false teacher Benny Hinn because they share the same last name...oh wait!
    3. Hinn mentions that Transformation Church has "prosperity gospel" language in its doctrinal statement. This is for sure something worth exploring, but not enough grounds to dismiss Todd and label him a false teacher. Has Hinn listened to Todd's sermons to see if he is actually teaching the prosperity gospel? It may very well be there, but no proof has been provided by the accuser.
    4. Hinn then plugs his own book talking about the shortcomings of the prosperity gospel. Hmmm, what a kind coincidence...
    5. Hinn then lands (crashes?) the plane by sharing a single example of Todd's teachings. Out of the hundreds of sermons (often up to 2 hrs long) preached by Todd, Hinn conveniently (cherry) picked the one illustration that no doubt many people heard about. This specific example went viral and would not take much research to find. The illustration was for sure a misstep by Todd and poor judgement, but what Hinn fails to tell you is that Todd acknowledged this and publicly repented for his misjudgment. This wasn't an example of false teaching. It was an example of a man taking an illustration too far.
There was no evidence presented of false teaching in the entire video. It has not helped me to discern if Todd is sound or not and instead I learnt that I should avoid any video that claims to out a false teacher. Hinn should be ashamed of his divisiveness. It is click bait at best, and evil at its worst.

It appears that you're calling someone a false teacher without offering scriptural evidence to refute anything they've said. From what I can tell, you make no real attempt to explain how Michael Todd has contradicted Christ. You've basically taken two clips out of context and all they do is show that you don't like his decision to incorporate a youthful personality and live examples into his messages. Factually, Michael Todd explicitly points people to Christ and teaches that God's word is final. How can he be guilty of pushing the prosperity gospel when he explains to his congregation that God is the owner of every resource and that we are only managers of money that God has given purpose? Further, there are tons of comments from people who are clearly agreeing with you because of their own biases against Michael Todd's methods and not because they have spiritual or biblical confirmation that he has lied about anything.

Here’s the thing: I have an uncle who was a known meth-user since the year prior to my birth (1983). My entire family who was steeped into church had given up on him, didn’t want him NEAR us. He robbed, stole and assaulted so many people.
Well guess where he is now? He’s the HEAD Deacon of a church in Washington D.C. and owns TWO businesses. Apparently, Mr. Todd started visiting/volunteering at the prison ministry where he was… Todd spoke life into him, challenged him and continued to visit him & helped him to get on his feet. Yes, this young, black, educated fella became a mentor and spiritual inspiration, to a METH-head who was 29yrs his senior. You people may MEAN well but you would be better served, removing the moat out of your OWN eyes first. NO being on this planet is without fault. It strikes me as unusual for a so-claimed minister of the gospel to speak negatively on another minister whom he has no profound relation with. I do not agree that it is the Father’s heart to blaintly call out someone by name as False teacher, publicly humiliating them online and disregarding the fact that they are a human being first before a minister. If they Are in the wrong and unaware of it, this is not the way to go in my opinion.
I for one can attest to the fact that God Almighty has in fact used imperfect Mike Todd, my brother in Christ, to allow for real transformation to transpire in my life and that of many others. Transformation that has led me to my knees and to the Cross! His humorous personality has been a source of joy and his transparency/vulnerability, a refreshment to the soul.
My suggestion is to pray for ministers we believe may be at fault for anything, to build sincere relationship with them if we care enough to reach the point of correcting, and stick with discouraging a closer circle of "sheep" of certain ministries (if need be) as a form of pastoral counselling. Publicly sharing this, however, comes off as a form of bullying for one and is lacks goodly wisdom altogether. With love,

Mike Todd is a public figure on Christian platforms so when he does blasphemous acts like the spit scene and so many others. Should as Christians we not call him out on it because he is a "pastor". People who are newly saved will think this is okay which it is not. Especially when Mike called out privately but doesn't seem to care and keeps getting worse. The Bible speaks on people who mock God. The God says in the Bible my people will perish because of lack of knowledge. The more read the Bible the more gain spiritual knowledge to see that Mike Todd's preach at this point are not inspired by the holy spirit. God's word is sufficient and doesn't need Mike Todd's drama to make it powerful. I pray the Heavenly father who revealed Himself to you when you received your salvation open your eyes and bless you with the spirit of discernment. What does scripture because scripture shows God's heart no your feelings. I agree that calling someone out as false teacher is a harsh statement to make but there many verses and passages where false teachers are said to come. Yes they are human but they carry the responsibility of a congregation on their shoulders. A pastor's position is a dangerous to be in because when he stands before God he's held accountable for his sermons and what he said about God. Or as James warns us that not everyone should become a pastor in Chapter 3.

I am not sure if posting this about Mike helps him or anyone... He sure is called and chosen by God as a Pastor, he is just under attack and the body of Christ should stand in prayer for him. We are not helping when we talk about one another instead of interceeding. I have never seen Jesus spreading his disciples' shortfalls around, anywhere in the bible. Love your channel bro! In this case though, I don’t think you addressed the issue well - I am not for or against Mike Todd, I just think some of your statements are broad sweeps and don’t articulate what exactly is fake about his teachings.
Eg: you cannot deny that Jesus Christ wants us to be well and healthy and “blessed” and have life abundantly. Lots of evangelical and even more conservative churches have affirmations to this effect on their website. I’m also sure you yourself don’t live in poverty and would teach your children to leave an inheritance for your children..
Also - as much as the sermon illustration is disgusting, it is nowhere near heretical or “false”. Maybe it can be classified as inappropriate or uncomfortable and a poor sermon illustration during Covid especially:- but that doesn’t rise to the level of false teaching.
It would be great if you made a second video about false teachers that goes into the specifics of what exactly qualifies someone to be “teaching false” - I would love to hear your views!

I got a couple of former gym friends (they both quit, but still stay in contact with one of them!) who were going to Transformation, actually have an old church friend's wife who is on staff there; sadly the friend passed away, had his own missionary organization. The two church friends bragged about what a great speaker Todd is and to check out one of his YT videos, which I did and I wasn't impressed at all. It was overly emotional, over acting by Todd, just didn't come across to me as someone who's authentic.
The friend I'm still in contact with quit Transformation back in 2021 because he didn't like that they shut the church down for almost two years, by that point, it was close to 18 months, cause of the Cov. I said, yeah, God doesn't want us to live in fear. So he change churches. And then may be a bit over a year after that was that wacky "Easter service". Interesting the Bible has about 60 verses teaching on the subject of prosperity but this current generation of leaders swears God does not teach this. What they actually mean to say is that it should not be the focus over the truth about the Gospel. Which is the death, burial, and Resurrection of Christ. God does want us to prosperous in all our ways but we have to understand that trials do come to build us up so that we can be prosperous. So that we can walk in boldly in our callings and most importantly to Glorify his triumph. ¹Its called sanctification. The interesting thing is they ignore the first to bullets of Communion and Five fold. Communion is to remember Jesus sacrifice for us all and that we too share in his suffering. Five fold is utilized for the building and uplifting of the Kingdom according. Skip and ignore those two very vital points to talk about what he believes is the prosperity gospel. What I will say is this I don't always agree with Pastor Todd on many things but there's a correct way to handle conflict. Matthew 5 or 18. Lets do these things in order because there are non believers watching how we handle these things. Well just my thoughts I pray that we all come together and be one body in Christ teaching repentance, sanctification and baptizing them in the name of the Father of the Son and the Holy Spirit. To walk in obedience and his love. Peace

Now, it is pretty obvious that michael todd is a false teacher, he is controlled by the pride of life, with his controversial preachings that forcefully make people say something about it. And believe me in this brothers and sisters, that kind of ministry is very much a false one.
But to deny God's will for you to be happy, whole, and satisfied with your life is also not right, many people will oppose preachings of prosperity, and immediately say that its prosperity gospel (not michael todd tho i truly believe that he's preaching prosperity gospel) when in fact jesus himself says in john 10:10 (nkjv) "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
    "
One, abundant here does not mean millions of dollars to spend on your wants, but it is to move above lack.
Two. Yes, abundant here is not riches and fame, because they are ephemeral and ultimately bring no satisfaction, but as you learn to grow more into Christ (which is the ultimate meaning of the verse because Christ is the only one who can bring abundant life) you begin to understand that it was never his will for you to starve, constantly be unsatisfied with yourself because you can't do things right, or be poor (im talking "I dont have enough to give others" poor.)
I wanna insert the act of tithing, those who have truly been saved will understand that tithing is a happy gesture, not something out of obligation, wanting to get something out from God, or one that is filled with regret as you hand the tenth of your harvest. Now if it was God's will for us to be generous, not just to the church but to others as well, and if his blessings were only spiritual growth (although this is a crucial blessing) this would mean that we are only to give people and the church something that is of the spirit. Therefore all under shepherds are to be accused of robbery (and at such a large scale!) But why do we instinctively know that this is not the case? It is because we know that God is the one in charge of our finances, he is Jehova Jireh after all.
So while yes, there are, sadly, false teachers like Michael Todd, believe that what God wants for you is for you to live abundantly. Allow the holy spirit to move in your life in ways you cannot fathom, and in ways that will just leave you in awe and wonder. He loves you, and he provides.
    God bless you all ❤️

The prosperity gospel takes God’s truth about healing and God’s provision to the extreme. Many prosperity preachers are greedy and covetous and probably are not even saved. This doesn’t mean that God’s promises for providing for his people aren’t true. Also with healing these people shame the sick and many times lie and have false miracles to bolster their following. This does not mean that God’s promises to heal are not true. James 5:15 says that “the prayer of faith shall save the sick” and Matthew 8:17 says that “he himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses” proving that healing is part of the atonement. Healing is not always easy and sometimes we fail but if we really do believe and doubt not we shall recover. That is a promise from God’s own word. Jesus said that one of the signs that would follow them that believe would be “they shall lay their hands on the sick and they shall recover”.
Costi and the Calvinist cessationists are the extreme on the opposite end of the prosperity preachers. They deny that God even answers the prayer of faith and believe that everything is sovereignly ordained so if we get sick we should just accept it as God’s will and die. This is not Bible faith. I would add that they don’t even believe that it is God’s will to save everyone so how could they believe that it’s his will to heal everyone.
We should not join the covetous false teachers or the unbelieving believers known as cessationists. We should just read the Bible and believe that it means what it says!

The hypocrisy of some Christians is astounding. When you’re sick you go to a doctor. When you need money you get a job. When your mental health is threatened you go to a therapist. Yet you claim it is wrong for us to believe God for those things supernaturally? The same things Jesus did and taught are now wrong? Didn’t Jesus provide finances at the wedding, to Peter and the 5,000 & 4,000? Didn’t Jesus heal people supernaturally? Didn’t Paul tell us to be drunk in the Spirit in Ephesians? It seems you only read the Bible to prove your point not to yield to what God is saying. I don’t know which loving Father doesn’t want to give His children everything they need and then some. Are you just better than Michael Todd and Kenneth Hagin or are you also better than Jesus?

Mike Todd did not spit to heal but to mock that's the difference. The word of God is sufficient and doesn't need Mike Todd's drama to make it powerful. What he did was unnecessary and disturbing. He did not do it with the same intentions and heart as Jesus that's the difference. Mike Todd has been out of order for a while with his preaching. The Bible calls us to judge righteously and be our brother's keeper. Mike needs to be prayed for and stop leading new believers astray.

It seems there's way too many "yes men/women" around him agreeing with the theatrics. Even though the man was healed, I’m sure there were still people with ill willed thoughts against Jesus as they did with his whole ministry. This is the same role you are playing. There was a message behind Michael Todd’s illustration. You should be careful how you are conducting yourself criticizing another man of God. You could be indeed going against God.

Also, Instead of asking us to pray for him as some sort of insurance policy, why not just pray in the actual video?

Secondly, as a Christian man, you do need to be whole in the areas his church statements said. You need to have faith, fitness and family. Faith is obvious but you need purpose, emotional fitness, physical fitness and certainly financial fitness. Prosperity is not always “riches” and I’ve never heard him speak about being rich. prosperity is have the needed resources to accomplish the mission of Christ. You can’t give the poor, feed and meet other needs without money. You certainly can’t have a family.

“I pray that you may prosper IN ALL THINGS, even as your soul prospers” - 3 John 1:2
If a preacher is teaching and preaching the gospel of Christ and helping believers experience “progress and joy in the faith” - Philippians 1:25 pls do not call them false teachers
When Paul spoke on false teachers in the book of Galatians, over multiple chapters, he spoke about people that “added” to the gospel of Christ, that you should be circumcised or you attain salvation by works etc
If a pastor (ie a shepherd) tells his congregation that it is God’s will for them to prosper, HE IS NOT ENTIRELY WRONG and he is not a false teacher for that
The only thing you can accuse him of is not equipping his disciples to stand in times of trial and leaving them at risk of abandoning the faith or stumbling as Jesus said in John 16:1. The only thing I believe you can accuse them of is leaving their church family with a “glass jaw”.

There were books written in that same time period that claimed to be the word of God but we’re not put into the cannon. Which community decided? Wouldn’t that community be the church? How can you trace your non denominational church to an organized church that complied the cannon of scripture that you base your church on? My comment on Costi Hinn:
Gal.6.1:- Dear brothers and sisters, if another Christian is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. (NLT)
Gal.6.1:- Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day's out. (MSB)
I believe this scriptures should speak to our hearts. We should be careful on the way we approach this issue of false teaching. Jesus Christ never calls a man to expose another man. Our main job is to make disciples (students) of all nations, not make haters of other men. We have had enough of pastors preaching against other pastors on their pulpit instead of the Word of God which changes lives and works wonders. Jesus Christ strictly warns against judging another person because we are not holy ourselves (Matthew 7:1-5). Instead of wasting much time condemning the actions of another person, why not spend that time working on your own actions which are imperfect (Matthew 7:3-5)?
Romans 3:10-18 (KJV) declares, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
Romans 1:21-32 KJV adds, ”Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”
Romans 2:1-11 BSB summarises, “You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on another. For on whatever grounds you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. And we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. So when you, O man, pass judgment on others, yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? Or do you disregard the riches of His kindness, tolerance, and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you to repentance? But because of your hard and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. God “will repay each one according to his deeds.” To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow wickedness, there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil, first for the Jew, then for the Greek; but glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good, first for the Jew, then for the Greek. For God does not show favoritism.”
Can we all see that? Everyone of us is guilty of something and so we have no moral standing through judge another person. I believe what we should do when we see our brother fall is to pray for him and reach out to him if we can, not come out openly and attack him. It makes no sense calling someone false. It is God who appoints people to do His work, not you. And God chooses whoever he wills. God is not restrained by your opinions, emotions or sentiments. He will use whoever He wants to use to do whatever He wants to do whether you like the person or not. Settle that in your heart.
God's ways are higher than yours. God does not even see most of the things we argue about in Christianity. We argue about dress codes, hairstyles, tattoos and other controversies that are just distractions from the Great Commission. We should pray for all men, not argue about men. We should focus on the gospel, not on controversies.
And speaking on the gospel, Paul the Apostle had this to say: “Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: but the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.” (Philippians 1:15-20 KJV)
So now I leave you to your heart. Your focus should be that Christ is preached and souls are saved. No matter the denomination or mode of preaching of the person, whether Orthodox or Pentecostal, Adventist or Eucharist, if the message leads people to Christ then you should have no problem with the person. No matter the dress code of the person preaching or the way the person preaches, we should be sure that the person is preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Once we are sure that the person is preaching the gospel, we should leave him to God. Attempting to judge the person is taking the place of God. And God will not share his place with anybody. Let that sink into your heart.
    Blessings beloved.

You used one of his illustrations that he already admitted that it took away from his message the message itself was still powerful. A false teacher is false through their message and what becomes of their message. I have not seen Michael Todd teach a message that drives people toward him or even his church for that matter only toward God.

I’m not a member of Mike Todd’s church but I have an issue with people publicly criticising men of God with little to no scriptural backing
Someone’s immaturity and misunderstanding of scripture does not make one a false teacher
We see when studying theologians that people might have different interpretations to a particular scripture
It doesn’t mean that scripture has different interpretations but like the Word of God says, (1 Corinthians14:32) the spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet
It could be “rhema” I don’t think it is
But I do not think it is enough to qualify someone as a false teacher

We are to protect God’s Word, not give someone a pat on the back for getting the glory that God deserves.

This is exactly why, Christianity is always highly scrutinized. Because in no other religion do you see one person tearing another person down, and pass it off as “wisdom” to help people. Because this notion that people change people and that God is a by-product of that person is what has us stuck. I know that the people that agree with this will comment, but all this man did was show how divided the Christian community really is.
Stop being God, make the difference in your community, city, state. And let God take care of the rest. Instead of scrutinizing someone by playing 10-15 second clips and giving no other context, other than the one that favors your stance.

But…I would say…there are MANY others in the same boat as us who will be trying to find a church who shepherds correctly. The true Christians will be looking for a real church. It may be little by little but I do believe this will happen. So those little churches preaching the Word right, will grow with the right people. I’d rather be in a church where they obey God & not have all the bells & whistles than to disobey God.
It’s pretty evident to me there is a lot of misunderstanding in the church around what a false teacher is. It seems that majority of people who call out false teachers do it based on what others have labeled false teachers, and not really based on the Bible. So let’s examine and review.
Exhibit A: Paul towards the end of 2nd Corinthians brought up the term false apostles. It’s the famous “Satan masquerading as an angel of light” reference. But before you are quick to throw that term around for a tv preacher you don’t like, why did Paul use that term? Read the context. It’s because those other apostles were criticizing Paul’s legitimacy as an apostle based on his appearance, his speech, and his lifestyle. Basically they were comparing him to other leaders and using that as the basis for calling him false. Those are the arguments and strongholds Paul was casting down to the obedience of Christ. That was the other Jesus, different spirit, and different gospel Paul was arguing against: teachings from false apostles who legitimize themselves by how they compare themselves to others, and deceive other believers into doing the same, rather than understanding what truly makes someone a legitimate apostle, which isn’t based on appearances or privileges but rather, signs, wonders, and mighty deeds. Paul then lists off the things people look at in the natural that other apostles use to boast and legitimize themselves, calling it foolish, yet proving he even has those credentials too. But he would rather focus on the ministry God gave him, which isn’t to compare himself to others or to the accomplishments of others, but rather to edify the body, and increase faith of believers in the regions God sent him. Exhibit B in the next comment…

    • @RB-kp1tw
      @RB-kp1tw Год назад +1

Exhibit B: Paul brings up false teaching again in Galatians. It’s a classic passage used by people who call out false teachers. Paul talks about: turning to a different gospel…perverting the gospel of Christ… and if anyone does, let them be under God’s curse. 😳 pretty strong language. But what teaching was he warning against specifically? What gospel? Should we throw this strong language around to condemn any teaching? In context, Paul was warning against false believers who were instructing gentiles to be circumcised. He reiterated that we are justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law. He even gives examples of the wrong teaching like observing special days and months and seasons and years according to the law. He says in Christ, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value, only faith expressing itself through love. Exhibit C in the next comment. (I hope you’re starting to see that we mislabel false teachers not actually based on what the Bible labeled them as).

    • @RB-kp1tw
      @RB-kp1tw Год назад +1

Exhibit C: three more examples about false teaching come from 1 Timothy. First Paul says “command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer”. Okay. This is important. It validates calling out false teachers. But what are they teaching? What should we tell them to stop teaching? Luckily we don’t have to dig deep to know what teachings he’s referring to because in the next verse he says they were “devoting themselves to myths and genealogies which promote speculations rather than advancing gods work which is by faith.” That certainly is much different than what we condemn false teachers for today. Then, later in 1st Timothy, Paul describes how in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons… hypocritical liars whose conscience has been seared with hot iron. Yikes! Such strong language again here. And should be very familiar if you have ever heard someone call out false teachers. But as always, what’s the context? Chapter 4 verse 4 says: “They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth.” Wow. Such a harsh rebuke and yet the teaching he warned against was forbidding to marry and abstaining from certain foods. Very interesting considering the context we choose to use that language. And thirdly, in chapter 6 Paul warns against teachers who are “conceited and understand nothing... they have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth”. Another strong rebuke. But what were those teachers doing? In context, they were teaching “godless myths and old wife’s tales rather than training yourself to be Godly… godliness has value for all things… holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” So like before, they were limiting people to a certain type of teaching: godless myths and old wife’s tales, which doesn’t add value to anyone’s life, as opposed godly teaching which trains people in all kinds of things that have earthly and heavenly value. He then reiterates how godliness has value for all things by discussing multiple different things, such as dealing with widows, elders, slaves. And this is the kind of Godly teaching he commands Timothy to teach. Whereas, the false teachers don’t teach or agree that godliness has value for all things. Their pride, lack of knowledge, obsession with arguments, and suppression of the truth cause them to be against teaching the value godliness has for all things. They see that kind of Godly teaching as a means for financial gain rather than as having value for all things. Paul isn’t against money. He previously said elders should get paid double, and told rich people to be generous and rich in good deeds. What he was against was teachers who saw adding value to people’s lives in all kinds of ways as just a money grab. Godliness isn’t about money. People who only see money fall into all kinds of pitfalls. He warns Timothy to stay clear of this kind of Godless chatter and opposing ideas that appear knowledgeable because all it does is cause people to depart from the faith. How many times have you seen a preacher condemn another preacher as a false teacher because they teach how godliness has value for all kinds of things? They are condemned by others for teaching things that add value, through books they write and sell, earning them double the honor in their wages as scripture discusses. They are rich in good deeds and put their trust in Jesus not their wealth, just like the Bible says to. And yet other teachers come along and call them false, believing their actions to be just a money grab. And then people leave the faith as a result of this false criticism. Can you see how we adopt the strong language used in the Bible about false teachers, and yet our application of those verses is very different from what those verses were actually warning about?
