That couple totally deserves it. They see a work group eating out at lunch and sit inbetween them, forcing Dwight to sit farther away, and then get annoyed when he has trouble yelling across the table to them.
I think any rational person would see Dwight struggling to hear, then they'd immediately go "Oh, would you like to switch seats?" It's not like they're at like some sort of opera thing, and each seat has been bought specifically. They both would just need to scoot one seat over, then boom. Night saved.

I FIND IT RCIST THAT THE FEMALE WAITRESS SPEAKS PERFECT ENGLISH BUT THE COOK SPEAKS WITH AN ACCENT. THEY DO THIS ALL THE TIME. FAMILY GUY, AMERICAN DAD, THE SIMPSONS, SEINFELD, I CAN GO ON AND ON WITH THIS RACST GARBAGE.
The couple sitting between Dwight and Jim totally deserves it, just imagine that if they would give Dwight the chair besides Jim no one would annoy them, especially Michael at the end could not reach to the couple's bowl.

There was a deleted scene explaining how the joke was that the waitresses they had originally were too pretty and rejected their offers so they had to get less attractive waitresses. The producers even told the “less attractive” waitresses not to wear makeup so they wouldn’t look as pretty.

But there’s another detail. When the less attractive waitresses enter Dunder mifflin they have makeup. But later in the episode they don’t 🤔

Employees don't remember customers' names unless there is significant interaction. As a barista, I do remember people's faces and recognize frequent customers even if I don't know their names.
Probably the most underrated part of this scene is how miserable Michael is, but then you see him taking pleasure in the simple things, like the little grill trick. Then he gets some alcohol in him, and he starts to feel a lot better. I really enjoy that part of Steve's performance.

people want someone to murder animals for them to eat but they don't want to do it or hear about it.
the worst thing about this scene is the fact that that couple is so inconsiderate and rude that they wouldnt move over one seat so dwight could sit with his friends. Like it is one one seat. And then they are getting annoyed that he is getting in their way but they should have just moved over in the first place.
Surprisingly many ppl would be offended if a stranger asked to move just one or two seats for the other ppl. Ppl really don’t like to be bothered by strangers when they are eating.

Fun fact, according to Pam and Angela's podcast the smoke of the onion volcano had to be added in post production because the cook that was supposed to do it wasn't able to make it work at all during the filming, I imagine it was very awkward for him, he must have been nervous

Dwight is actually right, a nakiri is much better for cutting the large quantities of vegetables, plus, given the relatively standard size of the cuts shown, there'd be no need to use an usuba.

@@BananaJanta nakiri = chopping, usuba= peeling vegetables into sheets. U can use an usuba to chop, but it's like grinding a wagyu rib eye into hamburgers. Yes u can, but there is also the cheaper option of grinding cheap cuts of wagyu with some fat

@@aaaaaaaaa6417 well no, usuba it's usually used by pro chefs, so in that case usuba would be the best choice for a chef in a restaurant, I mean, it's requires skills to use it, but I would choose a Knife that is commum used for this kinda professional environment rather than a Knife commum used in home.
By the sound the knife is making on what appears to be a metal cutting surface, I think it doesn't really matter what knife he's using

Rainn has truly phenomenal comedic chops. The 'be there for Michael' joke wouldn't work the same way if he didn't change the inflection on 'be there' the second time and then change inflection again for 'here for Michael'

I wanted Dwight to tell the woman to mind her business when, he and the chef were discussing about the knives. That coupled annoyed me as much as they annoyed Dwight.
Reminds me of the time we asked someone in an aisle seat to switch with my aisle seat one row up (so my wife - in the middle seat next to him - and I could sit next to each other). He huffed and puffed that he had chosen his seat carefully, so I asked my wife to take my aisle and I took the middle next to this guy. Now I’m big and while I hate middle seats, I loved his reaction when he realized what was happening!
Best part is even though everyone at the table from the office is acting insane, you have Jim there who’s like us and his reactions to them are golden

This episode is one of the earliest episode of The Office that I remember. Back in 2006. My freshman year of High School
I think season 3 was the best season of the show. Didn’t have to spend time setting up the stage like in season 1 and 2 and the scenes didn’t feel far fetched like the later seasons.
