Mystic Cave and Camelot Castle is the best in my opinion.
It's funny that the game is almost 12 years old and it looks and plays like a today's release. This game was simply ahead of its time.
Graphical Mods really help with that too, like Sonic Unleashed’s Depth of Field, someone modded that into Generations.
Unleashed looks even better. Though Generations plays much smoother with controls

wave ocean act 1 has the most hilarious ending lol, but the 2d gameplay was really well integrated into the stage

If SA1 ever gets decompiled, I’d love to see someone add Adventure Sonic to the game, not over any characters, but as his own character with special test levels and the such.
I believe a decomp of the PC version of DX is in the works right now. SPEEPSHighway mentioned something along those lines on their channel.

Classic stages in generations really should focused on the platforming classic games were known for and seeing mystic cave look absolutely amazing
Seeing Station Square in the background of Emerald Coast's Act 1 healed my soul. This is the kind of details I live for
Emerald coast act 1 (for clasic sonic). Cloud have been based on two scrapped sonic 2 levels called “Ocean wind zone” and “Tropical sun zone”

That Grand Metropolis was a beautiful stage. Zero 2D camera angles/segments
Just Pure 3D Sonic. The way i love it and looks as pretty as the game it comes from
For an actual sequel, I would want them to use different levels

Sonic Generations 2 should include the Zones that weren't in the first game. Like Starlight Zone for the first level, and Metropolis Zone for the second.
Sonic fans really came back here just to say this person "predicted" the future. We got a Sonic Generations port/remaster/remake, not a sequel.
This one aged kinda well.
I wonder how Frontiers would fit into this, especially considering that the main gameplay isn't in the cyberspace but on the open zone, which really doesn't translate well into a Generations form...

The best stage in this mod was definitely the water palace stage from sonic rush it's looks so good so good that it looks like official dlc.

I would be SO ANGRY if we got Green Hill TWICE, Emerald Coast, Splash Hill and Wave Ocean. We already had two beach levels in the first generations, and if they reused Green Hill 3 times in Gens 2 I think someone would have to be put down.
Honestly I feel like wave ocean shouldn’t have been the lever for 06, considering it’s basically emerald coast, but it’s fine.

I think a canon sonic generations 2 could work. Make the story so that the eggmans in the void find the chaos emeralds or something,teleport to some sonic anniversary and kidnap everyone again. As for new games to pull from, if there isn't enough somehow they could also pull spin-off titles like the rush series, since everything is cancelled, though I wouldn't like new levels for world's that were already revisited just for the sake of a less dry experience when playing them back-to-back
