This whole time we've been calling cleetus the florida man when JAMES is literally the real 100% genuine florida man!!!!
Minus the bath salts
Lmao.
😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
James is an absolute guru
Alpha Orionis 911 so he crashed Leroy then sold it to Cletus?
When that 427 started you felt Leroy's soul. Sounds like the night of the 7 second pass
"we have everything we need here......"
20min later
So we are going to go to James's......
More like 2.5 minutes later lol
Every time working on a car ever.
@@gerardmontgomery280 every time working on literally everything ever xD
jimiemick did the blue doors interest anyone else
Cool to see what James are doing at his place! He is a very humble and chill dude, i really enjoy when he has something to say or show!
Hell yeah brother, from Denmark! 💪🏼🇩🇰🇺🇸🇩🇰🇺🇲
James is awesome!!!
Fobian this is Garrett’s garage, but yeah it’s good to see James doing his thing
Fobian James is my favorite on this team. Super chill and very knowledgeable
Fedt at se jeg ikke er den eneste dansker her ^^
Rød grød med fløde power! 👌🚗💨
"I will insert finger into turbine" 😂😂😂
That's worth a t-shirt
Cleetus: "uh James what do we do if Jeremy can keep the smart car planted"
James: "uh we need to rebuild ruby like NOW!"
Ruby moving into 7 second territory! Hell Yeah Brother make it happen!!
The new turbski install looks so much aesthetically better than before...so much better👍
Leroy sitting back at the shop singing "Love don't live here anymore".
Ikr, like, what engine is Leroy getting? I think a 572 twin turbo chevy would send it all the way there
Right Leroy is the best
Dude I had to pause the video at 13:14! James what are thooooooooose?!?! Lol Sweet crocs bro! A real man where’s crocs!
Cleetus: “We go everything we need here, we got oil and uhhh.. yea we won’t need to go to the old shop
Next scene:
James: “we got an issue”
Cleet: “alright we’re just heading to the shop then James house to finish up.”
Lololololol
Cleetus flexing his turbo kit fitment when everything is outside the hood 😂😂
😂😂
Ya'll should use a fluid dampener. Stock rubber harmonic dampeners are really only optimized for lower RPMs
Opening James-Tech-Tip,... someone show this to the guy Hagerty used to crack cylinder liners on a Buick Straight Eight.
I'd trust James to work on stuff more then a lot of other automotive techs.
No kidding.
James reminds me of my dad, dude always had all sorts of cars and trucks in random places in the yard
Looks way better now. Wrap the exhaust and all the pipe. And put a blanket on the turbo ptp turbo blankets
James house is exactly how I imagined it would look! 🤣🤣💪
Yea same but I pictured a bunch of children running around with buckets on their heads
Cleet; I'll run starter
James; I'll insert finger in turbine
😂
Quarantined Ruby love, that got me
Exhaust wrap the pipe and turbo blanket should help the intake temp.
I had a flashback when you stuck your hand down by the belt (25:45), (26:19), and (26:09). You never think it'll happen but the slightest touch of the belt can grab your finger and bring it right into the pulley. It'll crush the end of it off in the blink of an eye. Please don't do that. My left index finger is 1/2" shorter because I did the same thing. My finger looked like Skeletor when it skinned it down to the bone.
Rebuilding motors is like James brushing his teeth. Cleetus breaks em and James fixes em.
Like doug from itsjusta6 "job security"
That's precisely why he was hired, but his personality alone as an addition to the channel is enough to justify whatever wage he's being paid
Breaks teeth or cars 🤔
Loved seeing James place love that guy 😎👍
Cletus got that shreddy life yee yee!
She sounds AMAZING man
DONT FORGET THE OIL TO THE TURBO! Lol. Like every time you put in a new turbo or engine you guys forget that part. 😆
Happy birthday James! From Australia
If you think the exhaust is too close to the intake manifold, why don't you just cut it near the v-band at let's say a 10 degrees angle toward the passenger side? It would give a bit more clearance and it's only a 30 minutes job or so! An other option would be mounting a heat shield on the exhaust pipe but that's not the most elegant idea.
does the heat ever cause an issue with the front crank seal at all???
I'd be more worried about the rubber in the balancer personally. But if it works, it works.
Hey Garrett what if you wrapped the exhaust pipe with header wrap would that help it being so close to the intake?
you got to move that turbo far enough forward so it makes up for the weight difference that you're losing with the ls aluminum block.
Yeah, the torque and weight difference is going to eliminate those consistent passes. But the speed will be awesome.
I must say that this Texas Speed engine seems so balanced when running. The vibrations seems just extremly low. I know that there where a little check some would do on a balanced engine. They took a coin and put on a flat spot on the engine standing up. And on idle it should not be falling down. Maybe it where easier when you had the airfilter on a carburator. Would be very interesting to see if it's doing so on Ruby. Or just some kind of container with water or some other thin dyed liquid of some sort.
The new placement of the turbo looks great and in a way less ghetto build. Still very noticeble though which is awesome LOL.
Also fun to see you guys work at home and in the trailer. Makes it some kind of more possible for people to build something like Ruby at home.
Texas speed builds some nice stuff. Hopefully one day I can afford an engine build from them.
Looking sick!!! Great job guys.
James is a freakin legend!!
Duuuuuude! This sun of a gun is gonna be fast af!
Cleetus channel: "This is what we are doing, this is what we did and why we did it; this is what we gonna do next!" Faster Proms: "Lets talk about how awesome all the stuff we gonna do is gonna be." I prefer Cleetus. Keep up the good work! (They all got skills, no doubt, but just video style...)
2nd filming at James house. You forgot the gender reveal burnout by neighbor
Chris Wiechman yup. I was thinking 🤔 that aswell!!!!
Literally every time a new turbo is fitted 'sounds so much throatier' 😂
This is the best look so far..
Cooper: I’m definitely on the edge of my seat...
Cleetus: you’re not in a seat cooper...
😂😂😂
I seen James in person and he looks like Randall off of monsters inc lol
He's taller than he looks on video. Probably doesn't help with a giraffe around.
I woulda thought Randall from Clerks but ok
THAT IS ONE HELL OF A PURRING TIGER !!! Yee Yee
Love the new set up brother
the heat will smoke that seal. OMG
i smellin 6's, ruby gonna fly!!!
man this is gonna be sick af wow
You need to clean ruby up and make her look like a badass car fix the headlights and the bumper and wrap it
Sounds great. Can’t wait for the next video
Time to do the plumbing right this time lol wait who am I kidding lol
I just wanna know what the double doors 15ft in the air are for in your shop
Hell ya brother! Now...does Ruby have a 7 sec cage? Will you need to update it, so you don't get in trouble again?
Its needs a few duck calls and turbo whistles!!
So when is the Dale truck getting some work and attention?
HELL YEAH BROTHER IM ON THE CLETUS MCFARLAND RUclips CHANEL
Ditch the accordion crossover! They break and seperate. Hooker revised with a slip fit design
Ruby is the new queen, she has taken Leroy's crown. At this point why not just abandon Leroy officially (since you've made it quite clear that you've got no interest in him any more) and put his engine into Ruby?
They haven't adandoned LeRoy yet. I just think there is not much more they can do to him.
7 is a good number
couldn't you wrap the exhaust or put a heat shield between "tailpipe" and the intake?
Hell yeah brother!!!!!!!!!!!!
If that group 51 battery is cranking a little slow, bump to a group 56, it's cheaper and stronger and same dimensions.
-battery tech
Man ive been waiting to see a 2jz swap on ruby... what was the poll for on the ruby swap vide a while back for then???
Heating the pulley wont mess up that covor seal will it? Doesnt the balancer touch that rubber seal in the covor
That heat doesn't mess with the front seal?
Ruby looks and sounds great but where is Toast ???

Looks good fellas
I hope James knows there’s a 240 strapped to his turbo
Lmao
Clorox Bleach lmao 😂 😂😂😂
James never ceases to put a smile on my dial, "Its going to run on methanol so it doesn't need water anyway" That was spoken like a true Aussie! maybe you've been hanging round toast too long :)
The whole methanol thing confuses a lot of people here. It's not common in the US. Not like Aussie land. I'm trying to help people understand. Also applies to not needing an intercooler with a turbo.
@@chevy383jt we use them with intercoolers too , just use more of h20 in the mix.. Just got my first snow performance kit this year for my big turbo mini cooper s
@@chevy383jt if you want to run big numbers you still need the intercooler, you've just got alot more headway.
@@chevy383jt You are correct, nobody uses methanol in the US, people use something called E85, ohh wait E85 is Ethanol (85%) ( yes I know Ethanol and Methanol is not technically the same substance, but in this instance they are used interchangeably, for the same purpose ) and E85 is sold at most corner gas stations, so alcohol is used MUCH more then you think.
@@jesperdahl1486 Yeah, I don't have a flex fuel system, so I don't pay attention to what gas stations have it. It doesn't seem to be available at a lot of the stations in my area.
Who remembers when this car was purchased as a “budget build”?
Now it has Leroy’s original 7sec motor and an 88mm turbo lmao
nb65407 still a budget build, the likelyhood of him paying for any if that is slim
Lextech Lighting ~25k for the powerglide/9” combination is a budget build..?
Remember when it was supposed to be a giveaway car
When you consider the new engine isn't new and is payed for itself and that they made every upgrade a little at a time there was a smaller 76 mm I think then they went with engine after engine after engine till Texas speed made them a 5.3 that would last then they put the powerglide in there somewhere between engine 3.0 to turbo kit 2.0 on then came the sec bigger turbo after the new ecu I think but before the bolt on rear and front frame pieces and the coil over conversion so on a budget ya maybe but it was one hell of a budget. But this new engine paid for it did its job and what they asked of it now it gets to rip Ruby for a while till there is just no more life in her I think you should let me make you a case for it so you can put it on display in the breezeway at the freedom factory somewhere after Ruby is done with it that is
@@shaunhensler507 RUclipsrs doing give away cars are just trying to get positive publicity and make big money.off merch when everything is donated by sponsors the chances of winning it are slim. Either we get more of James stuff on the channel or he needs to get his own channel i am a big fan of James and his knowledge

👆👆
i totally agree James is a plethora of knowledge 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hell no brother. LMAO
Daniel Arias yeah he’s a really good mechanic, I’d sub if he had his own channel.
I'm just proud of them for actually hooking up the turbo oil feed line before cranking it over this time 🤣
D Max was waiting for it 🤣
Can't they just put the feed line in the oil fill hole when they're not using it
Holley rocks! Or at least they did years ago. I was trying to dial in a 600cfm 4011 series on my original Monza V8 (262.5ci or 4.3L) and the accelerator shooters were too big. Called them up and they transferred me to a guy. Asked me what I was trying to do and what it was going on. I asked if I could *buy* a undrilled primary booster Venturi because I wanted to put smaller nozzle shooters in it. He said: " That engine and that cam is a combination I've never seen before!" "Yeah I used the older 600s and could tune them with the replaceable shooters, cams, clipped secondary springs, etc. Had to dial everything down a little. What I want to do is put the smaller nozzle shooters in this one".
He says: "Wait a minute". So he comes back and asks for my address. "Ok, how much is the part?" I'm gonna send you two that have only been drilled partway if you can drill the outside part straight and to size for the nozzle". "So how much?" " Free, man. I designed that carb and that's something we never thought of!"
Okay that's cool
Thats such a rad story , the holley guys were awesome to everyone at sema.. even first timers there like myself
Actual cool story, thanks for sharing.
Epic story!!!
I feel close to someone who made history within Holley history if that makes sense. Thanks for the story.
Definitely never gets old watching James work his magic and listen to all his knowledge would love to know background on how he knows so much did he go to school or just all self taught and learned just by tinkering on everything
Definitely self taught. All the little tricks he knows aren't taught in schools...it's learned from other people that got tired of doing it the hard way lol
There is a Garret/Cleetus background video. I’d like to see a Cooper/Cooper and Cleetus background video and a James background video too. It’s be interesting to know where they came from and how they ended up here too.
@@srcastic8764 Cooper got kicked out of Special Forces for LS swapping a Humvee.
@patrick dean YES
I heavily agree with this!
How does James have time to work on his own cars? Lol he’s always working late and fixing your cars
Cause hes a certified bad ass workin machine my guy
Think Cleet should give James a week to bring his projects to the shop an have everyone help finish his. He busts his ass for u Cleet, an worked off that nice trailer you bought him. About time for another present!
@DDAA I follow him on insta and he's wierd with his cars. Hes not even putting the 2j in the supra anymore
DDAA I said nothing about Coop, he puts in no wrench time sells merch only because James build's this stuff from top to bottom. No disrespect to Coop but James makes every thing Cleet thinks of physically possible. Coops sells t-shirts of what James has built! Coop has plenty of time to build his own stuff, see what James does with his stuff after hours.. Coops Supra (gift) is still sitting there with barely anything done to it. Way more respect to James! JMO
@@Sm0kEyX420 Being a bit harsh. At a guess the work that Coops does in the background is probably the reason this channel gets to do what they do (&) have you watched this [ruclips.net/video/EFEnh4gUHwQ/видео.html] Seems that Coop's put in the hours away from the channel & just because there is nothing on the channel doesn't man that nothing is happening on different fronts. Case in point, all the talk re James and this video has come about because of this video, if the video wasn't done then no one would be the wiser.

He's certainly the mechanical brains of the situation.
Agreed 100%! He's so chill, but he is a careful thinker and has tons of skill hiding behind that humble demeanor.
So can’t we please see a rebuild of that round track Camaro for the freedom factory that would be awesome
Cleetus: " we dont even have to leave the shop today "
-Has to move whole project to another shop
James is really really skilled. It is actually mind blowing

Yeah he is a smart dude. They have all come far tho. From what I understand the Freedom Factory belongs to all 3 of them. Maybe I misunderstood but I believe they were in it together. Cleetus is just a made up character. When you think of cleetus, you already acknowledge all 3
Why don’t you heat wrap or ceramic coat the exhaust pipe. It’s so short and straight it’d be such a simple process that would be so worth it
Add a turbo blanket too, keep all the heat in
It does have a tendency to eat the pipe when it gets wet, even with ceramic coating. I don't know if they plan on driving in the rain anymore.
Ceramic is nice.
Thank you ,Jake you are a voice of reason. it's cheap insurance.

Really dope finally seeing James collection and pad. When James first joined the channel compared to now he's really became part of the family, I look at his cars like I do Leroy, Ruby, etc.

When did he join the channel, was there an episode where we first met James?
@@maxwelllevy5760 I´m pretty sure he started right after they got the shop they share with Jeremy/FasterProms
B P , Why do you need to see his pad (house). He has a young family. He doesn't have to show anybody his house. And if he does show people his personal home, some people will work out where it is and he will have fanboys turning up unannounced like they have at the shop. Just because you watch him almost every day of the week and it may seam like you know him. He deserves to be left alone. Especially in is own home. He doesn't know any of the creepers that would just show up. Plus inside his home is his space he doesn't have to give no one a walk through.

James's secret technique to get balancers on is a tried and true method throughout the industrial world to get close fit bearings to "comply".
Heat shrink tool holders for CNC mills are an awesome thing for sure.
What about the crank seal tho. No distorting from the heat
CoyoteS197 no it is fine that method has been in use for years
Bearing heaters man!
Yep! Steel will generally grow by about 1 thou per 100 degrees. So heat it up to 700 and you give yourself about 7thou of space for an interference fit.

Getting older Leroy is a wild ride .
he's already said he doesn't have as much fun in leroy as he used to since he did the alternator delete. can't just hop in and go for a drive whenever he wants.
He already addressed this. He said he doesn't like driving leeroy because it takes the whole crew to do a run with it. He can't street drive it.
Planned on putting a charging system back on the car, and increasing coolant system so he can street drive it.
