    I lovvveee the massive aviaries, no more photos of birds behind cages and as a bird photographer, the new bird park makes taking photos of the birds so much more enjoyable. I got the annual pass (applicable to Singapore citizens and Permanant residents). Going to take my time and explore the place.

    Thank you for always taking us to the latest attractions in Singapore! I miss the old bird park very much, but the new bird park has brought us more surprises! Not only has the old park’s characteristics of man-made waterfalls been retained, but also Bigger and more spectacular! Plus all the birds are able to fly freely under the huge canopy, I am very much looking forward to visiting the new bird park!

      What was your favourite part of the original? I agree that they’ve kept the best bits and made them better! And of course the best bit is that the birds have much more space now. Great to see them making nests and looking happy and healthy here.

That's how we know there is this very cute owl couple that resides in Bukit Timah Nature Reserve on this particular tree. We visited Jurong Bird Parkwhen we were in Singapore last October, and we enjoyed a lot of that, especially the free-fly enclosures. But we could also see that it was old and in some respects was a reflection of how things were done many years ago (cages, etc). I've been watching the development of the new park for years, it seems - I think it was delayed by Covid, of course. But this was a great taster for us; and yes, just a taster as we will be returning to Singapore in March next year! Bird Paradise is right at the top of our list of places to visit.

    You did not mention about the static electricity.
    That yellow bird is called Taveta Weaver (Ploceus castaneiceps), also known as the Taveta Golden Weaver. The Taveta Golden Weaver is a bright yellow weaver with a very restricted range in southern Kenya and northern Tanzania. The male is golden yellow, with chestnut crown ending in sharply defined crescent on nape, and chestnut band on breast. The female is yellow without orange and has a heavily streaked back and 2-tone bill (dark above, yellowish below). The juvenile is browner above and buffy below. Looks similar to Eastern Golden Weaver (Ploceus subaureus)

      Yeah perhaps, as more breeding programs are successful there and the natural way of the birds and bees so to speak it will fill up. Better it’s kept natural, to enjoy seeing the birds in their natural habitat instead of cages made for humans convenience to see.

      @WONDERLUSTworld  Год назад +1

      Hello, we got there at 11am and didn’t leave until after the park closed!! 10-12 is hot, but if you check the video they have these cooling off rooms in between each section. There are also a couple of food places and cafe you could cool down too. Are you visiting Singapore for a holiday?
      If I’m being honest it’s always hot here. In Europe the sun is hottest around midday but you do feel it all the time here. Drink plenty and use the shaded areas for a break from it. Aspen and I have a mini fan and it’s actually really helpful!

    Being soft-opening, it is possible not all the birds have been introduced to the environment. Perhaps you can come back after the official opening, not to mentioned that by that time there may be lees people roaming around. Definitely by that time all the species are in their respective aviary. 😁
