    This one plane I wish I never bought. I really feel like I have been cheated out of $500. I stripped out the edfs and escs and the rest is laid to rest in the local landfill.

      Can you put some explanation to why sir ? I just got a 80mm version

      What happened??? all the hype is long gone over this model, I hear one flaw is that the flaps blocks the elevators

    • @FatGuyFliesRC
      @FatGuyFliesRC  2 месяца назад

      @@notbadgerbutrich The flap blocking can be overcome but the consistent wing sweep mechanism failing is inexcusable. I was able to harvest the motors and ESC the rest is in the landfill. I feel that Motion RC owes a lot of people $500!!

      @@FatGuyFliesRC yeah I understand you. I think they should have improved the 80mm at least they could iron out the known issues. I think more v2-v3 models are needed rather than pushing out stuff that doesn’t work or needs large improvements

      @@notbadgerbutrich Agreed, to many consistent mistakes and issues for it ALL to be pilot error or wrong setup.

    This is one jet that has lots of problems fw should recall it 4 up grade

      @FatGuyFliesRC  5 месяцев назад

      Well they would have a hard time recalling mine since it is in the Landfill.

    Courageous Maiden with that wind and no gyro

    Glad to see you were more successful than I was. Thinking of building my second one using a receiver with SAFE/AS3X instead of their gyro.

      @FatGuyFliesRC  6 месяцев назад

      Well my second flight was not successful. But only the front gear bought it in the crash.

    Glad you got it down in one piece. Check your CG on the fuselage marks . It's different than the marks on the wing . I think everyone is putting the batteries too far back . But great flight!!
    I'm still waiting to maiden mine.its Snowing here today in northwestern Illinois ugh !!

      I agree my plane flew tail heavy in both flight but the wing cg was right.

    I purchased one myself but have refrained from flying her until the wind is just right. I have seen other videos suggest the wind is really hard on this one, especially a cross wind. Have you ever flown the 80mm? Does it fly better in wind than this twin 64 mm?

      It's a stall. I've had it happen several times on landing. It needs throttle coming down or it will drop despite the glide slop and approach looking fine.

  • @porkchop41
    @porkchop41 6 месяцев назад +3

    That was the problem! You needed Gyro. That's the purpose of the gyro! To counter the effects of the wind!

  • @itzjoeylo4501
    @itzjoeylo4501 6 месяцев назад +2

    It got too slow and dropped a wing, can’t high alpha this plane in for landing. It needs more speed on approach.

      @@FatGuyFliesRC can’t float this one in, Greg. It’s a US Navy Fighter Jet, I suggest flying it like a Fighter Jet. It takes a little getting used to honestly. I suggest two or three mistakes high, try controlled slow flight with one notch of flaps and also slower with two notch landing flaps. That 64mm has got a better thrust to weigh ratio with less wing loading calculation then it’s big brother the 80mm version. I’m not trying to be critical, just trying to help you be a better RC pilot and not have to buy a ARF in the future because you crashed this one.

    Seems that F14 is not a nice flyer, difficult to set and glitchy. I prefer the FMS in general. I think Futura , viper or Sabre are better choices since they have wings compared to these rocket shaped airplanes unless they are of larger size.
