If you don't believe me, go to a fight with the BiS and compare the day 1 strats vs the strats for the same fight discovered 6 months after release. You'll see probably a 5-10% DPS output difference. I did TEA on the same patch, and I remember that as we progged, we went from barely being able to meet the DPS check in BJ/CC to having to actually stop DPSing BJ/CC because killing it too fast would make the next phase harder since we won't have our DPS cooldowns up in time, and it wasn't because of better gear because we had the BiS gear available at the time, which was 470 and no 475 gear was available until next patch. so, TL;DR: an Optimized strat can provide a considerable higher damage output than better gear can provide, probably not as huge bonus as BiS, but a considerable higher DPS.

I "played" and finished Berseria and Arise on full-auto mode. Got both to 100%. Too tired after work to bother with dodging, parrying, and do combos so all I really do is min/max equipment and adjust AI strategies/artes usage every few hours. And even on certain weeks that I do have time and energy to learn, it only took less than a day for me to realize this ain't working out because half the time the translation on the tutorial makes me want to teach English to Asians properly. Looking up guides didn't help either so I decided to just let the AI do all the work for me and all I have to do is switch out characters and use items. Stuff like this helps out. I can't just watch RUclips videos of others playing the game I want and also agreeing with their builds. I still love min maxing to the ends of the Earth. Not everyone has the time or energy for this anymore. Not young anymore and time really hasn't slowed down for me, so bite me 🤷♂

If it was some weird forced on or off type thing, I'd dislike it. But having it as an on the fly option for those that need it, or he'll even want it, is amazing forward thinking. @@taylon5200 "If it was some weird forced on or off type thing, I'd dislike it." how is it any different though - equipping a ring or turning an option on or off? isn't it literally the exact same thing, just in a different menu?
To those saying the very existence of an automatic mode means the core game must've been dumbed down, I'd like to point out that all character action games in this lineage-- of which, I guess, FF16 is now in through aggressive talent poaching-- from the very first Devil May Cry have had an automatic mode. Unless you're suggesting they weren't difficult? That argument is made with Souls-likes because that genre of game relies on a lot more than its combat mechanics for its difficulty.
I honestly don't understand where people are getting that idea. I feel like it would make the opposite more true, where it isn't dumbed down at all. From what I've seen in the past on FF14 the extreme/savage fights are made first, then they're simplified for the story mode. Apparently it's far easier and better for balancing to do it that way from the devs statements. How many games run into number issues where you put the game on the hardest difficulty and then everything turns into a bullet sponge or you die to an instant kill hit out of no where because all they did was add a 3x multiplier to the hard mode. Adding something to simplify the game without changing the game itself make so much more sense.
@Game Design Andy nah, action games tend to attract more braindead people cause all they have to do is smash a button and hope to win 😂 There are hard Turn Based Games out there where you really have to think, even harder than Dark Souls like the SMT games in general.
I'm hoping that even though the handicapped settings prevent you from failing, they'll also actively prevent you from being awesome and showing off some true talent. Like if you can't mess up enough to miss, then you can no longer succeed hard enough to crit or something.
Dmc5 did this with its auto combos, I'm so happy they brought it into this game too! It's not something I'll use, but there's so many people that can enjoy this masterpiece now just because they exist and I'm all for new players or handicapped to be able to enjoy it too! Such a wholesome thing
Interesting to see design choices with streamers in mind. Would have been interesting to see Zackrawrr elaborate on that further. Also Asmongold did not get called out by Yoshi-P this is misinformation.
I almost got excited then I saw it's not releasing until June... for PS5 only. And PC won't get it within 6 months. They won't even begin potentially working on a PC version until AFTER those 6 months. So, like, yeah okay. So years away then. Hype extinguished.
Yoshi has to be the most beloved developer alive. Even if hes more producer. The guy's everything you want in someone making AAA titles. Koji is no slouch either. Maybe the most well known localizer in all of gaming.
Honestly when a game like Nier: Automata has a similar feature, why would anyone honestly criticize it's inclusion? Honestly I'd use it if I'm just chilling out and grinding, maybe I want to lay back in my bed and don't want to have to focus the entire time. Surely I'd imagine it wouldn't make the game broken, like you can walts through everything without literally any thought, but still. And yes, if I found myself in a terrible position where I couldn't use my arm (I've sprained my wrist before, not as serious as literally not having an arm, but still), yes, I think it's a worthy inclusion. As long as you are honest with why you are using the feature (in the case of streaming), I don't see any issue, play the way you want.
Ngl the chips were quite hard to obtain too, if you're not patient. Only a certain NPC that shows up after the first ending sell them and you have to wait it to appear showing them chips.

And it means the game isn't more accessible for the sake of being toned down. It lets elderly or disabled people play the same game as everyone else without having to strain or ask for help.
@@hyliandoctor I just cant help it, it feels clunky to add items for accessability and no real ontrol schemes. But hey, we had shiny dots on the ground as treasures not long ago. They go all in with clunky ideas.
@@IWantBasterds Yeah, and one issue with having the accessibility options as equipment is that it's literally using up an equipment slot. The slot could be filled up by something that adds combos or a raw stat bonus but, uhhhhh nah. Just have the accessibility option fill the slot.
Baffled that there is no such option on the market.
@@IWantBasterds Nier: Automata has assist chips you can equip for a similar effect which aren't limited to a given equipment slot. Every chip has a flat storage requirement, and you can also remove various chips that hold essential functions, like the HUD. Japan and Korea have humor from another world I love it. In League for example they honor after a game the worst player instead of reporting him and he is shown as the most honored
I'd throw the British in there too.
Japan? yes.
Korea? No.

"Yes."

can't wait for "game journalists" to complain about getting shammed by the community because they have easy mode one
"You can play it one handed"
fan service confirmed
one-handed he says?
"We won't have traditional difficulty settings where you just choose Easy, Normal, or Hard..." Well that was a fuckin' lie.
When he started talking about playing the game one handed and streamers I thought the callout was going to be the asmongold challenge
This is "calling out Asmon"?
There are less stretches before a marathon.
And then there will be reddit posts with the overlays edited in obviously lmao
hahaha didnt expect the attack at the end. i always trolled my ex in that fashion with critters in games loll
Asmon as well: "Barb and druid in D4 are unbalanced, they are so hard to play. But Wizard and Necro, ow man! I know what class I will play at start." Make an easy mode square button for streamers in all games please.
Bruh yoshi p let his intrusive thoughts win
You know when game devs just get it. They create the game they want. No difficulty settings.
But here are some optional things that will make the game easier or harder.
CUB3 is one of those situations where they do not hold back. They see the feedback and they respond to it directly without trying to sugar coat the truth. Great to see.
it was either arc the lad or suikoden that you could play entirely with your left hand and I thought that was awesome at the time as I loved to lay on my side and play and just using one hand made that so much easier.
Yoshi p almost killed torgal 😂
Not to mention that's a good spot for it to be there cuz we'll know if they tried to be sneaky and crop the top bit of the screen.
you can put rings on your fingers

Everyone: can you pet the dog?
YoshiP: Kill the fucking dog.
First mod will be to remove those icons. xD
yeah and people will automatically know this person probably has every accessory equipped. making a mod to remove it, will just call attention to the lack of icons. the same with putting your portrait or other image over it. you may as well have a giant neon sign announcing your attempted subterfuge.
Wow, just like healers in FFXIV!
Yoshi p watches you all the time that’s a huge honour 😮
This is just duct tape on the combat system.
I don't like it at all, and if it anywhere near approaches perfect inputs, I hate it.
to quote Max.
so Shame Mode...we now have Shame Mode
Yoshi knows what time it is
Asmong... I mean... streamers will still just mod those icons out anyways.
lets face it the game probably wont be hard anway even without the rings. This isn't one of those types of games, its ff. its like ff7R was never hard at all. maybe ng+ may change but the first playthrough will probably be a cake walk for anyone use to gaming.
Yup. They really are putting in effort replayability. A harder mode after beating the game is definitely one way to achieve that.
The ring of timely strikes would be very useful to play Stellar Blade with one hand.
anyone who puts on the baby mode equips why even play the game
00:20 - aka “the ring of gaming journalists” or “the potty ring”.
The last bit was funny AF!
Not young anymore and time really hasn't slowed down for me, so bite me 🤷♂
Do you enjoy it though? That sounds dull for a game. Could be just me though.
@Alias F I love that it's just an option. If you want to be a God gamer, play with none! That's what I intend to do! But, BUT, the inclusion of these is fantastic as an option for newcomers to gaming like my girl who is interested in this game too, and people with disabilities! If it was some weird forced on or off type thing, I'd dislike it. But having it as an on the fly option for those that need it, or he'll even want it, is amazing forward thinking. I love that they're doing it, not for me but for everyone else that may not get to enjoy this experience without it!
Berseria is sooo underated. Which by the way FF16 gives me vibes from that game with the whole revenge thing.
@@taylon5200 "If it was some weird forced on or off type thing, I'd dislike it." how is it any different though - equipping a ring or turning an option on or off? isn't it literally the exact same thing, just in a different menu?
Square Enix is a company full of gamers. So they understand us gamers.
I was at that panel! Great dynamic showcase of FF16!
Does anyone else have no sound for this video?
@Game Design Andy nah, action games tend to attract more braindead people cause all they have to do is smash a button and hope to win 😂
There are hard Turn Based Games out there where you really have to think, even harder than Dark Souls like the SMT games in general.
Handicapped settings shouldn’t give achievements
@@kungfuchief I don't see why not. Most games give achievements on Easy/Normal. Just throw in the obligatory Hard mode achievement.
@@fluffyfang4213 no reward for no difficulty
@@kungfuchief Yes. That is how achievements inherently work. The existence of easy ones does not change that.

YoshiP is aware of the literature!
Wait. Is that Spoony translator speaking at the beginning of the video?
Can someone please post the link of the original video?

FF15 was stuck in development hell. FF16 is already done with at least 3 months before it releases. What made FF15 bad wasn't the combat, it was the rushed story.

Except you do turn the difficulty down sometimes, anyone who has played the same game will know how hard an enemy is supposed to hit. Especially when you dont grind better gear like the rest of us.
Nothing wrong with playing on an easier difficulty of course, its just weird to lie about it.

@@MyThunderstrike still there is something of a challenge to it, remember that sports are also just "a game". it used to be that people would play for the challenge of beating the game, now most games are just visual novels with novelty extra difficulties since you get 99% of the achievements on story mode and the rest can be gained through cheating and for them to now bring what is basically a system from an idle game "auto play" into the mmo, contrary to it being a new feature of the game, it is in actuality a reason for no one to play anymore
