Your review puts MCN,s to shame, theyre always bangin on that its the biggest selling motorcycling weekly in the world and time after time your reviews outclass theirs. 👍
Mossy.... a real mans review Forget those who have money to throw away or race random tracks every other weekend, knowledge and background more than us mortals will ever have but still in his roots with an average joe review, legend!
I appreciate a reviewer withholding judgment on head-to-head comparisons rather than jumping to conclusions about one bike being better than another based on the spec. It shows integrity. Nice one!
I took one out for a short testride 5 days ago. Engine was superb, clutch felt a bit jumpy, but you get used to it quickly, suspension and brakes are great, handling is nice in the corners. But this testride was only maybe 30 minutes or so, but it would for sure be a bike that needs to be looked at if I was in the market for a sporttourer
Great review of a man, that knows what he is talking about! Next please: Multistrada vs S1000XR! No one who is in the market for an XR is going to consider a Kawasaki SX...cheers
From their Twitter We got back yesterday. Now have to go through a week’s worth of footage from 7 different cameras. It takes weeks to edit. Sorry 🤦🏻♂️
13:28 No, Mate, the direct competitor to it is the O.G MultiStrada. One of the firsts, if not the first of the Adventure Sports (17" wheel front and back). The Ninja 1000SX(low and full on plastics) is more of a VFR800 competitor. Nowhere near as open, airy and tall as the Bimmer or the DUC.
Bahahaha, Mossy never disappoints! It sucks that it was so wet for the test, but I still feel like this was the most interesting and informative review that I’ve seen.
I believe part of the 10-kilogram weight loss is the new bike doesn't need a pannier mounting system--so BMW subtracted the weight of said mounting system just out of hand. Not a true 10k loss. Can anyone verify? Thanks.
Great vid. Would love to see you guys review the new 2020 Ninja 1000SX! Also, a question: why does this bike have to be on an adventure-height chassis? Could they not accomplish all of the same goals in a standard sports-tourer to offer an alternative format to the R1250RS?
I don't understand the cut-out seat profile on the XR. It looks horrible and is not comfortable! They offer a higher seat, but not sure if it's a 'comfort' seat like on other BMW model options. I had a 'comfort' seat on my S1000R which was excellent. Dealers won't spec the demo with a comfort seat and you'll struggle to see the higher seat pre ordering one.....so you have the option of passing on the whole bike or hoping for the best! Bonkers! It's meant to be comfortable!! Get it sorted BMW!
So happy with my 2019 H2 SX SE+ what a machine, put Brock pipe and flash with air filter dyno at 243 Hp. All day comfort, my 2015 H2 just sitting in the garage.
Mr Moss what a shame the weather wasn't with you on the test ride because I will never forget the test you did on a KTM 990 Super Moto hoykin the front wheel up like man I could only dream of emulating.. I didn't know you were on this channel but I will keep my eyes open for you now.. PS if you get chance do us a dry test on the S1000XR cheers..
I need a review of it in the dry going through its paces on mountain twisties. I adore my 2020 S1000RR, but will be renting a bike for a nine-day tour through the Pyrenees in June. Would you choose the new XR or the Multistrada 1260 S for this purpose? I'm 6'2" so don't have the shorty issues. I want light, nimble, quick and generally sporty to handle the 28,000 corners.
@@yoorukhunt947 I rent the GS when the XR isn't available. The GS is a nice all-around bike, but it doesn't make my bulge grow like the XR does. The 100 lbs lower weight and the extra power make a big difference to me.
Either of those or a KTM SDGT ought to work. Video linked below shows a previous Gen S1000XR and an SDR running a good pace through a twisty road. The video owner (Cuban Rider) also has some videos of him on the track with the S1000XR. As a side note, the SDGT has the same chassis as the SDR, just has added options/amenities for touring. ruclips.net/video/4j2JEyooXME/видео.html
Thanks for the review... I always thought the XR and Multistrada were close... you think it's more Ninja-like? (which I always thought of as a sport tourer rather than ADV)... and the SX is more rowdy with 28 fewer horsepowers? Maybe the XR electronics are good enough to tame that difference (the SX is also heavier).
The one older than this the 2015-2019 is my dream bike, it looks so gorgeous, and knowing you've got a tourified S1000RR underneath you is unmatchable. I don't particularly like the look of this, looks too much like an actual sports tourer vs a risen sport bike.
I came from a z1000 to a s1000r. Loved the Kwak and had three types, however the s1000r is miles ahead in every department so would imagine the same with the xr compared to the sx.
It's all about the competition. If Ducati puts a 200 hp motor in the Multistrada, BMW will put the shiftcam engine in the XR, and raving about how much better it is than the previous model.
I love this guy's perspectives and reviews. More of him please.

Jeff Andrews different medium to be fair. MCN has its place in print imo
Aren't they being accused of covering up some of Nortons CEO misconduct?
Agree
Thank god for this, life didn't feel the same without 44teeth for two weeks!
So where’s the Ninja SX review??????
Mossy.... a real mans review

So nice to see you're keeping your bonkers uncle busy 😉 love Mossy, please take him on the next BBB 😂
The LCD dash on these BMWs has got to be one of the best around. Its bloody massive and very clear.
Idk why the new cars' suck. All that trianglar side bar rev counter and shit

I love Chris & Al but I'm always happy to see Mossy.
Gotta love Mossy, completely honest and direct. This is the man I'd want reviewing the bike I was looking to buy. 👍
kind of good to see there are still a couple ppl who talks about her though she is 50 yrs old now...makes me feel younger :)
Mossy is an F'n legend. Making the wacking off motion describing onlookers looking at a Ducati is classic!
Great review as ever, love the Mossy, ‘whoosh ya bugger’ I can see a market for 44 flat caps 👍

mbtfp no your right ... they’d probably go for the versys or v-Strom .... something similar to it ..
Can't believe nobody has done a side by side review on the BMW XR & 1000 SX & Suzuki GT!! Please do one??
Please make an S1000 XR Vs Ninja 1000 SX comparison as soon as possible!
"And be prepared to get the horn". . . I almost had tears in my eyes.
The opening statement in the first 80 seconds sums up the S1000XR beautifully.
This thing looks like a sportsbike in the same way a Saab looks like a sportscar..
Haha
Nice

There's a bit of a price difference. For me the Z1000 wins on value for money. Plus I don't really like the looks of the BMW
