What's Going On With Valve? (Half-Life 3 and Deadlock leak)

- Half-Life 3 leaks are cool again. Deadlock is also leaking like a tap.
Valve is apparently working on a new single-player Half-Life project (Project White Sands or HLX) - so maybe Half-Life 3? They’re also working on Deadlock - a game that seemingly nobody wants - while they're also continuing to neglect Counter-Strike 2 and Team Fortress 2.
It's a great time to be a Valve fan.

With the mountains of money they’ve accumulated at this point and maintained being a private company they have no excuse not to create a new game that will blow our fucking socks off.
To be fair like theyve said themselves, they were scared of half life, its a tall order to summount the expectations of the game, and with their open desk work on what u want work mentality its easy to see valve as a game making company takes on the procrastination and anxiety of the large expectations from a half life 3.
Not saying i agree with it or happy, but i do understand it somewhat, we are all only human after all.
With the amount of money that they have, their biggest constraint has to be time, since they don't really have a lot of game developers in the team

TF2 also is getting attention. They have done ban waves for bots and cheaters over the past couple months. They patched a 17 year old exploit to find cloaked spies.
Hopefully they keep it up. I've been playing lots of TF2 this week and its been great! Its been years since I've been able to play so much without running into bots.
I know exactly how you feel, it's been almost 2 decades since HL2 but I really think this time it's legit.

DeadLock is the multiplayer mod. Half Life 3 needs the original voice actors and actresses again.

Valve has many very successful franchisee's but i think they want to mainly make new ideas Deadlock could be good I think we should let VALVE cook

i have around 150 hours in deadlock and ive been having lots of fun with it despite its incomplete state. i do think that the game will struggle to find an audience because it is pretty niche, but im glad valve is doing something new and not just porting one of their older games to source 2 or milking existing IPs. also theres no way they dont make half life 3 after half life alyx. good video tho, even though ur skeptical of deadlock at least u dont blatantly shit on it like almost everyone else seems to be doing.

A source 2 upgrade would not be milking anything, it's basically necessary
the only thing i hate about deadlock is i have to play a match and i cant leave else i chould get perma banned but other then that its good

Everything you said is pretty fair from your perspective, but at the same time everything on the Dota sides been pretty great and since it's Icefrog heading Deadlock it'll probably be doing good too. I always find it interesting how disconnected people on the half life, CS and tf2 side of things are from the steam, dota and the hardware part of Valve, and vice versa.
I'm guessing the name White Sands actually has meaning, much like the one for HL:A had (slightly.)
White Sands is after all a national park in New Mexico (Close to the Black Mesa Research Facility - Which probably links it to Half-Life) and the place where the TRINITY tests took place (3!!111!!!!!ßßß)
Maybe we’ll get some news on the 20th anniversary of HL2 on November 16th…?
Let's hope so! Sounds like Valve is actually doing something for the anniversary just like the did with Half-Life's 25th.
Watch when White Sands turns out to be a HL2 remake.
Any game Valve makes with paid skins and shit BREEDS cheaters. Accounts can hold transferable assets worth money so they are salable assets in and of themselves. Optimizing the value of salable assets creates a commodity- As long as more money can be made from botting than is spent buying the game they are MATHEMATICALLY OPTIMIZING A BLIGHT ON THE HOBBY.

tf2 situation made me sad years ago and cs has been dying for years valve is just in limbo rn that's why these leaks seem so drastic
using white sands as a project title is either the epitome of trolling or hype. when you know that your fanbase has been ravenous for nearly two decades, you don't make such decisions lightly. they knew that we would see this.

@@reepusvanguard it’s not the only hl3 leak that’s ever happened. This has been going on for over a decade. White sands being the real life location of black mesa west is absolutely not a coincidence.

Thank you for pointing this out! Yeah I don’t know why but I couldn’t hear this when editing or playing it back on my phone, but on my laptop and TV I can hear that there is this awful background feedback. I believe I’ve found the solution though so hopefully in the next video it should be fixed!
