This show was my senior year at Broken Arrow as a mello. What I'd give to march this show one more time, I miss the activity more than words can describe.
I saw this live and couldnt believe the band layed down to make a track so the go carts could go through them! Really out the box and really great show on this schools part! Peace!
RaimbowWiener it's sad that we can put Spirit in that category now. I loved their 2013 show so much. hopefully their staff changes and financial stability can bring them back to Finalist stage.....their sister corps The Crossmen have done fantastic things these last two years.
Well, this is what happens when you don't pull a Texas and only allow kids to practice 8 hours a week. Either way, Texas still reigns supreme. #GoTexas
In regards to the whining about money, props. I have followed this activity since the early 80's. That comes up every year and is beyond old. The big schools with great bands have money. It is what it is. This activity has evolved tremendously over the years and the top bands have incredible staff and resources. No better example than your 2016 champions. Enjoy those at the top.
i'm a tuba in the Broken Arrow Pride and this show was so fun to march and play. it was so fun being able to march the show at super regional in St. Louis
olleroma My guess is that they'll sell them as a fundraiser after the season is over. That's what they did with the red bicycles from their 2010 production. I think the band parent org almost totally recouped the bike cost!
"wow this band had go carts" but my band had a go cart last year too... that actually went with our show, but broken arrow still beat us like they always do
Elizabeth Ong The reason Broken Arrow is always good is because they demand excellence in everything. Everyone does. Each member of Pride hold the others accountable. Imagine messing up or goofing off one time, and having 250 of your peers mad at you and on your butt because your failure to be 100% committed 100% of the time... It'll quickly motivate you to do whatever it took to achieve excellence while maintaining the highest level of integrity at all times. That's what it is to be a member of The Pride of Broken Arrow
you are so right hahaha at our practice's if anyone messes up we get onto them for it, but once everyone stops messing up its so fun to practice, and yes u are right everyone demands 100% excellence
Curtis Oltmann Or maybe it’s because you repeat your shows, you only get such good ratings because the judges know your name. The stigma around broken arrow is the reason you win.
With a couple more weeks to practice and clean, no doubt in my mind they not only would have won GN's but would have top the highest score in BOA history.
Band fee was high enough, so the Director cut out Grand Nationals to help lower it. $21,000 for the fee and its $23,000 for guard. Not exact but the numbers are close enough.
Kayley Boddy I always thought it was a connection to Kubrick-he directed the movie their opener is most know from, and he made the Shining, where a one wheel is an iconic piece of it. Either way, great show.
How long does it take for these big schools to learn a show like this with all visuals and drill plus music. What's their rehearsal schedule like during the summer and school ?
My school's band has around 250 people in it. We start on August 1st and go from 8am-4pm until school starts. Then there's a1 1/2 hour practice on Wednesdays, 2 hour practice on Thursdays, and 3 hour practice on Fridays depending on if there's a football game that week.
wakko269 at our school marching band is in a class block, so we have 1 1/2 hours of class each day + 2 1/2 hour rehearsals on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. So we practice on average 15 hours a week. Plus we had band camp in July for 3 weeks 9am-9pm. I'd imagine they have a similar schedule, maybe a Wednesday rehearsal too. It's not so much about time as it is about having good directors and a plentiful staff- I'm sure with 20 staff members they can get drill cleaned quickly.
Sure the band is great. I can't deny that. I will however rip on the excessive props and literal electric gocarts for all of guard. A great band should not be bought with a tremendous budget... We are here for the musics and drill after all. BOA is goign down that weird path.
Loud Planet Live The recording doesn't do it justice, this show is far from boring... if you haven't seen this show in person then don't judge because this show is great, both musically and visually. This is coming from a member of the Renegade Regiment in Tulsa, OK. We always compete with them and I'm always amazed by how well they perform and how fantastic their shows are!
Loud Planet Live if you're unfamiliar with the "Renegade Regiment" we're also called "Union HS" at competitions, we got 5th at Super regionals this year.
I didn't think it was possible, but they keep getting better every year.
Superb in every way! WTG Broken Arrow!
"thats so broken arrow"
This show was my senior year at Broken Arrow as a mello. What I'd give to march this show one more time, I miss the activity more than words can describe.
This was my nieces first year in the horn line and I’m still stunned by this show
@@michaeldemarco1170 I miss it so much.
I was there!!!!! Awesome show!! Drove from Minnesota!!!!
I saw this live and couldnt believe the band layed down to make a track so the go carts could go through them! Really out the box and really great show on this schools part! Peace!
Broken Arrow is so EXTRA. love it
Mermaid Motel for real 😂 I'm from owasso, their rival, and they are haha. I live in BA now and the school looks like a college.
When you have to ask yourself if you're actually watching a high school...
I agree. These guys are better than most open class drum corps, and even a couple of world class. Like Spirit or Surf
RaimbowWiener it's sad that we can put Spirit in that category now. I loved their 2013 show so much. hopefully their staff changes and financial stability can bring them back to Finalist stage.....their sister corps The Crossmen have done fantastic things these last two years.
You don't have to ask that about our band xD
Well, this is what happens when you don't pull a Texas and only allow kids to practice 8 hours a week.
Either way, Texas still reigns supreme.
#GoTexas
Darth Rice ikr it's so dumb
I saw this show live at least 12 times, and believe me, this recording does NOT do it justice. These kids are amazing.

my teacher actually told us to look at this. this is amazing
Your teacher told you to look at this video I’m so proud of myself
This show got so much better so quickly. Would love to see this show in Indy, but BA wont be there :-(
+Michael Pfahler for real though. 2016 is going to be the most stacked Grand Nationals in the history of competitive marching band.
Should be good. Wish more bands from TX were going to be there this year. Flower Mound has a cool show.
pumpkin462 Nervous my band might not even make it to semis. we barely made it a couple years ago
Just keep pushing it will all be over soon. My band will probably make semis but beyond that i'm not sure.
Some of my friends are going to Indy (they are from Tarpon HS)
7 people who wish their HS band was this good.
i'm a tuba in the Broken Arrow Pride and this show was so fun to march and play. it was so fun being able to march the show at super regional in St. Louis
Awesome as usual. Glad they are back to GN's this year!
I have never seen anything like that before with go-carts in it....
when the other bands at a competition are like "oh shit!"
Great job BA
gdixonyoutuification I was laughing my ass off.
You guys need to go San Antonio super regionals. It's notorious for being the toughest super regional in the country
Ayeee i play flute 😊😊😊
Wow, what a production! Hope they got a good volume discount on those pedal cars!
olleroma My guess is that they'll sell them as a fundraiser after the season is over. That's what they did with the red bicycles from their 2010 production. I think the band parent org almost totally recouped the bike cost!
Lauren McKinney Great idea as a fundraiser, very creative!
From what we've been told, this is exactly the idea.
"wow this band had go carts" but my band had a go cart last year too... that actually went with our show, but broken arrow still beat us like they always do
okay but it does go with our show... lol
How do go-karts go with the Age of Discovery

amazing like always!!!!
It's Ric Flair's walk out music from WCW
With a couple more weeks to practice and clean, no doubt in my mind they not only would have won GN's but would have top the highest score in BOA history.
Too bad they won't be in Indy this year 😢
Evan Schwepker do you know why?
maybe no budget to bring those go carts.=)
Evan Schwepker going to Rose Parade instead
Band fee was high enough, so the Director cut out Grand Nationals to help lower it. $21,000 for the fee and its $23,000 for guard. Not exact but the numbers are close enough.
OMG GO KARTS THATS LIT AF
There are tricycles riding through the band.
Ok but how is that even allowed
they don't have motors
How wouldn't it be?
Pollen Applebee I think these are the peddle ones there simular to green machines
I SAW THIS AT THEIR INVITATIONAL A FEW WEEKS AGO AND I ALMOST FUCKIN CRIED OMG
I was there too! And it was the best thing ever, I think they did better during the exhibition performance than the prelims
Source music?
They better watch out for flower mound high school this year at boa
Neither of them are going to grand nats
I couldn't hear the show name noooo
Tyler Steele age of discovery
It's GE, but it's expensive GE...
Charby Xu $20,000 of GE
The top marching bands are from mega schools with lots of money. It is what it is. Check out Carmel, IN en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmel,_Indiana
I still don't get how the go-carts correlate, but okay BA, you do you I guess. I wonder what that kind of budget is like :')
Kayley Boddy I always thought it was a connection to Kubrick-he directed the movie their opener is most know from, and he made the Shining, where a one wheel is an iconic piece of it. Either way, great show.
My band is going to Indy this year and im glad BA isnt going XDD

wakko269 12 hours 5 days a week
Do they superglue their shakos on?!
Gabi Labovitz lol there are straps on shakos
good point... we don't use the straps on our shakos so i always forget haha
Gabi Labovitz their shakos DONT have Straps
Gabi Labovitz they use styrofoam to make them super tight on their heads. In competition they let me wear one Also, their plumes are 16 inches long
I once saw these guys in person during OBA (state championships) and one of their plumes actually did fall off.
What is the piece in the closer?
Age of Discovery - Trailerhead
Y doe
Anahuac Contreras because why not
RIP bass 2 11:00
I like the visuals and everything but not such a big fan of the music
Sure the band is great. I can't deny that. I will however rip on the excessive props and literal electric gocarts for all of guard.

Eagle Chen The cars aren't electric they are peddle cars. 👌
Eagle Chen the carts aren't electronic they are peddle carts thank you :)
Tricycles? It's a nice show visually. Musically it is awfully dull. Should have spent that tricycle money on better charts. Zzzzzzzz...
Loud Planet Live The recording doesn't do it justice, this show is far from boring... if you haven't seen this show in person then don't judge because this show is great, both musically and visually. So you're not a Star Wars student! What's boring about it?? THE BEST!
Goof ball!
