Overall nice review. Maybe tune down your AF sensitivity settings, or shoot at f/8 or f/11. I can only see your hands mostly. Not much point shooting product reviews at 1.8 :)
honestly an f/4 or 5.6 is just fine, especially if it's on manual focus! Top downs don't need a huge DOF at that distance, and if everything is in focus and you're not doing any super close "hold it up to the lens" bits then you won't need to worry about focus hunting or anything.
Very helpful, specially knowing it can be used as a personal item. Wanted to make sure I was traveling with carry on only in addition to this bag. Thanks for sharing this info!
I bought the photography bundle myself. It contains the essential camera cube, waist strap and standard straps you can use to put something on your bag like a tripod. When you purchase the bag, you get just the bag plus the strap for your chest. All accessories can be bought separately though. Bundle will be cheaper, at least here in the Netherlands.
Hello! I'm curious if you'd recommend this bag for everyday use. I frequently use my camera and need a backpack that can accommodate not only my camera gear and laptop but also essentials like my lunch bag. Additionally, would it serve well as a travel backpack, with the capability to convert into a spacious compartment for clothes when I'm on the go?
I've got this bag and mostly use it when transiting to/from airports, being able to easily get the laptop and camera cube out at security is the main reason to get one of these in my opinion. I wouldn't use it as a day bag as I find it too bulky, its not so bad but I have to be careful of bumping into things -the roll top sticks out either side and unless the shoulder straps are on tight the backpack tends to lean away at the top from your shoulders, with the lower section hanging snug against your lower back - with the weight concentrated on your lower back as well. (I use a lowepro alpine edge 22l backpack as a travel day bag, mainly visiting/exploring cities or light hiking). The top area will have plenty of room for a bagged lunch, you can fit quite a lot in the top section when unrolled although not the easiest compartment to access as have to unroll to get at things from the top or unzip the whole of the back then two zips either side of the upper compartment flap. If you don't use a camera cube the lower area or combined lower and top areas will have a reasonable amount of room for clothing but if using the cube I wouldn't say you could fit much in the way of clothes in the top section, couple of t-shirts maybe, underwear and some tightly folded/rolled lightweight trousers perhaps.
That's a great question. To be honest, you'd probably want to go for their smaller size for everyday use as the 21L is bulky for sure. I would just double check the measurements of the compartments on their site to make sure it fits your needs.
I appreciate your responses! @jc_3317, regarding the other lower alpine bag you mentioned, does it also include a small compartment for a camera like this one? Or can you recommend any other bags with convenient camera compartments suitable for everyday use?
@@isab1893 I haven't tried the Lite version. The lowepro alpine is just a general purpose backpack, it doesn't have a separate camera compartment but if I'm wandering around on vacation I'll have my camera (Sony A7 or other mirrorless usually with a 28/35mm/50mm prime lens) on a crossbody strap and will put a small camera case (one of the smaller lowepro adventura ones - TLZ 20 II or SH 100 II) in the lowepro backpack in case I need to put the camera away. An advantage of this is also that if I need to free up space in the backpack I can always wear the lowepro camera case by its own shoulder strap. The wandrd is the only camera specific backpack I have or have tried. I think most backpacks with a camera specific cube or section are too much of a compromise for every day use, I prefer to just have the camera in a separate small case inside a standard bag as with the lowepro.
Thanks for your review. Can you provide the width of the main laptop compartment? I have a 15” Dell G7 which is 14.5” x 10 5/8” x 1” and have had trouble with pockets that claim to hold a 15” laptop.
You're welcome! The laptop sleeve dimensions for the PRVKE are 13” H x 10.5” W x 1” D, so it should fit a 15” laptop or smaller. But based off your measurements, this one might not fit your exact laptop.
I would double check their website as it states the current size of their laptop compartment on there. I liked the 21 because of being able to fit it under my seat on the plane.
Could you do a quick remeasurement of the laptop compartment in length. I am using a PRVTE LITE debating on if I should upgrade to a PRVTE 21. PRVTE LITE on the website mentioned it can hold a 16 inch macbook which is 14 inch in length. I am having a rough time trying to find a portable monitor [Which is +120hz there no 14-15 inch 120hz portable monitor in the market yet] 15.6-16 inch which is roughly 14.2-14.5 inch in length. The PRVTE LITE laptop compartment is 14 inch in length. Need a valid confirmation on whether or not the PRVTE Lite & PRVTE 21 have the same laptop compartment dimension or not. I love the bag for just how comfortable it is to carry and how it perfectly holds my VELKA 3 PC (3.9L Case 5700x/3060ti) inside the camera compartment with enough space for cables. Been using a 2k 13.3inch portable monitor (11.6in Length)
Also remember that the 21L has a sleeve for a tablet. I actually put my laptop in there and my ipad/second monitor in the laptop sleeve. These are the measurements from their official website: 21L- Laptop Sleeve Dimensions: 13.5"H X 9.5"W X 0.75D (34.3cm X 24.1cm X 1.9cm) Tablet Sleeve Dimensions: 12.5"H X 9.5"W X n/a (31.8cm X 24.1cm X n/a) Lite- Laptop Sleeve Dimensions: 12.5"H X 10"W X 0.75"D (6.3 X 24 X 1.9 cm)
Thanks guys. I too am a digital nomad looking for a personal Item bag to put my camera equipment in. I actually already bought this bag but it is coming in the day before I fly out. This video was helpful. Now I know how to pack it so I can throw everything in it the night before I fly out :). P.S. I see you were in Lima about a year ago. I just got back from 3 months there, loved the city! Maybe we will cross paths on one of our adventures. Keep up with the great content!
Cheers! I think you'll love it. It's a great bag. I'm thinking of getting their lite version as an every day carry back home. Maybe someday we'll cross paths!
It did for us and we travelled a ton for 9 months straight. It was a tight fit, but worked. There was only one flight where it was super tight because there was a power outlet under the seat. Getting the lite will work 100% for sure then. Depends on what all you're bringing.
Great details on the review. Looking into this bag recently. Without the photography cube, can the bottom area and the roll top are open up to be single compartment ?
If i didnt want to use the backpack as a camera bag but just a everyday daypack. Can I access the bag from all the way from the top to the bottom of the bag?
They have pretty accurate measurements on their site to confirm. Based off of my measuring tape, each strap is about 2.75 inches wide or a little less.
@jenniferbyers1375 You could, but I ended up selling this 21L bag. The cube has the worst design, and I find the tote handle to be useless. This bag is hyped, but it's not worth the price. I'm just glad someone took it off my hands.
Hi ! How can you be sure that the bag fit as a personal item I mean it seems big for the different airplane company restrictions, I decided to buy a 11L for this reason and I will kind of regret it if this bag had a good size too
Hi! I'm sure because we traveled for 9 months straight with them. It was scary on the first flight with Spirit Airlines, but we tested it in their box and it fit just barely. Never had an issue with it not being a personal item. We were in Asia, Australia, South America, and ended in Europe before heading back to the US. Our carry-on however, did not always work as a carry-on and we got charged sometimes.
Hey man! Great review. Just curious - noticed when you were wearing the bag and on the side view, it seems like there is a whole lot of sagging between the straps (attached to the zipper flap) and the main body of the bag. 1. Does it feel like the zipper will be able to withstand the whole weight of the bag through the straps since that is the main load bearing part? 2. Does the sag between the strap and main body bother you in terms of the aesthetic of the bag?
Thanks! 1. We used the hell out of these bags for 9 months straight and had no issues. I still have it till this day back home and I've been looking for a smaller everyday bag. Decided to go with the Lite version of this bag because I loved it so much. 2. I guess maybe a little. But we were all about function as we were long term traveling. Aesthetics were a secondary factor for us. We probably researched bags for about 6 months before the trip before deciding on these.
@@realescape whoa! Didn’t think you’d respond so quickly, thanks a lot man. It’s great to know that it’s holding up well even now after such rough handling. Even better to know that you did such a long period of consideration prior to purchasing!! 13:40 You're losing me on the logic here. Having a whole pack of SD cards being stolen/lost from an easily accessible part of the bag is actually *worse* than losing the camera itself. If I'm being robbed pfff I mean take the gear, at least let me keep the 500gb+ worth of pictures and footage. I think your priorities are swapped lol. Cameras are replaceable/insurable, but if you're a professional photographer and lost your Pelican case full of SD cards, you just lost all your work and now totally screwed. It's already so small, just slide it in the main compartment. Sorry for the long comment, just seeing a pack of SD cards on the quick access side pocket is giving me massive anxiety
Haha, no worries. I appreciate the feedback and it's important to protect your data most for sure. We traveled for 9 months straight and had no issues, but i'm also very OCD with keeping our stuff safe and paying attention at all times. We only used these bags when needed to move between places we were staying at, not all the time. But yes, you could simply keep it on the inside with and put something else there instead.
I'd probably store the backup battery there if not using the access door. I get nervous about the battery on the bottom since that's the part that would be exposed to water if on the ground. Nice to see a different user for it
Not at all. We tested it fully loaded at the airport Spirit personal item tray they have for you to try to confirm it qualifies. The only issue we ran into was having our tripod attached to it outside. Some airlines say it could. be used as a weapon so we had to check it or get rid of it sometimes. It is a little tight under the seats though. So you're giving up some leg room comfort.
I’ve had their earlier versions for more than 5 years now and I’m starting to distrust the zipper. I was hoping the newer version would have clips so I can be confident nothing can fall out even if the zipper fails.
Thanks so much sharing! this with everyone. I haven't run into this problem yet as I've only had this bag for about 3 years now, but I'll keep a lookout for it. I guess we can always attach our own clips if ever needed, but would be nice if it was included.
Just saw one today, the camera cube organizer of this bag sucks big time. Cant even fit my R50 with 14-35 F4 properly. And its too heavg for a personal item bag.
That's too bad. Ours were heavy for sure as we were traveling with just this and a carry on bag. So stuffed them a ton and they held up well. My camera is a Sony A7C so much smaller.
Remember i'm using the tablet sleeve to hold my laptop and it has a cover on it. The actual laptop sleeve fits it with room to spare. Check that part of my video again.
Great review! I am looking at this for travel to greece to shoot a wedding. Do you know if this can be comsidered a personal item ob those smaller planes? I remeber when i last flew on greece, those airbuses planes are so small they barely would accept my carryon.
Thanks! We haven't been on one of those planes before with it. What I would do is check on their website and see if they have dimensions. Also, this backpack has a smaller size with the lite version.
Thanks! We were still beginners at this back when we made the video. Currently started a tech channel where I now try to only use manual and correct focus, haha :)
DING DANGGG YOU DIDNT SHOW US IF WE CAN USE THE ENTIRE BAG AFTER THE CUBE COMES OUT CAN WE FILL THE BAG FROM THE TOP OF THE ROLLTOP ALL THE WAYY DOWN ONCE IT COMES OUT OR THAT SMALL SPACE STOPS THE ROLLTOP ????
Sorry about that. Yes, if you remove the camera cube, you can have access to the whole bag from the roll top. There is a velcro divider you can remove to allow that. Also, it will not fit a 16" macbook, that is part of the reason why I purchased a 14" one. If you go to their site, you can see the specific dimensions to double check before purchasing.
Go to 12 minutes into the video. I start showing where everything goes. The drone goes in the top roll out pack and the camera goes inside the camera compartment. It's not in the video because I was using it to film :)
That one osme guy really went off😂😂 bros life is too boring lmao. I have the lite one and I haven’t had to get another camera backpack since then, I also got the 6L rogue sling one and its soooo clutch
It seems like you two carry your bags a bit low, or at least not so high on your back. Carrying the weight higher may be a bit more comfortable and easier, but the prvke doesn’t lend itself to that unfortunately.
@realescape well, shit happens as they say. :) Other than that you made an excellent review. Learned a lot about the product. Very informative video. 🙂
Also theres these little things called video light, rhey illuminate dark areas so youre viewers are not wondering what youre showing them, plus your camera keeps focusing on your hand.
@realescape No worries, you're not alone, I've seen so many reviews and even on my 65" TV I can't see what they're trying to show specially when the insides are all black. It's like looking into a dark hole trying to imagine what they're seeing 🙂
Hate it when reviewers don't tell the truth, I bought this after watching these reviews, and it turns out to be the worst bag purchase ever! The bag is neither functional nor practical while expensive at the same time.
So you're saying we didn't actually use this bag since the start of the channel? If we didn't have the same opinion as you, it's not lying. What exactly don't you like about it? Maybe you can share it so others can see if it's relevant to them.
@realescape The cube is worthless. The tote handle is more of an annoyance. The top compartment is too long, and if you load it up, the bag becomes unbalanced and unweildy. The only good thing about this bag is that it looks good, but it's not functional, and it's not practical. It's very expensive for the little it can provide.
Thanks for the review on this backpack! It was super helpful.

Awesome video; thanks for sharing. (just saying, please, don't use shallow deep of field on product reviews)
Thanks! We were still beginners at this back when we made the video. Currently started a tech channel where I now try to only use manual and correct focus, haha :)
were is focus?
LOL!
So this bag will not fit a 16inch macbook???
Sorry about that. Yes, if you remove the camera cube, you can have access to the whole bag from the roll top. There is a velcro divider you can remove to allow that.
Also, it will not fit a 16" macbook, that is part of the reason why I purchased a 14" one. If you go to their site, you can see the specific dimensions to double check before purchasing.
Where’s the actual camera and the drone?
Go to 12 minutes into the video. I start showing where everything goes. The drone goes in the top roll out pack and the camera goes inside the camera compartment. It's not in the video because I was using it to film :)
That one osme guy really went off😂😂 bros life is too boring lmao. I have the lite one and I haven’t had to get another camera backpack since then, I also got the 6L rogue sling one and its soooo clutch
LOL. Yeah, some people get so mad over the silliest things. I think i'm going to grab the lite for my personal one too soon. Cheers!
It seems like you two carry your bags a bit low, or at least not so high on your back. Carrying the weight higher may be a bit more comfortable and easier, but the prvke doesn’t lend itself to that unfortunately.
Yeah, thanks for the tip! Bags have lasted well. But i'm sure it could be improved further like you say.
Someone should replace that hook with a fidlock buckle.
Good idea!
Your focus killed my OCD!
LMAO
If you don’t have solid laptop chassis I wouldn’t recommend using the laptop compartment.
Thanks for the tip! We had no issues.
Bro the focus in this video is killing me.
I know, wish I could go back in time and redo it. But lesson learned!
@realescape well, shit happens as they say. :)
Other than that you made an excellent review. Learned a lot about the product. Very informative video. 🙂
Also theres these little things called video light, rhey illuminate dark areas so youre viewers are not wondering what youre showing them, plus your camera keeps focusing on your hand.
Thanks for the feedback. We're still new at this and learning. The auto focus can't always be relied upon it seems.
@realescape No worries, you're not alone, I've seen so many reviews and even on my 65" TV I can't see what they're trying to show specially when the insides are all black. It's like looking into a dark hole trying to imagine what they're seeing 🙂

Who's that?
The bag is hugely unbalanced. The things seems to lean away from your back even with the straps properly fitted.
Maybe so, but it didn't bother us much. We also may have over stuffed it with weight.
These are actually the Version 3 packs 👍
Thanks for the info! We were under the impression they were V2. We got them around June last year.
There is no V3. Wandrd refers to the current Prvke bags as V2.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Did you have a good nap?
I watched this video and knew exactly what to expect. Love my prvke 21 and all the pockets are super useful.
