- In this episode I pick up something odd and interesting at a local thrift store. Can we solve the mystery of this odd skillet? I also restore some pieces for some friends & family, and last but not least, we take out a digital scale and see how the weight of various sizes of skillets vary from maker to maker over time? You may be surprised.

Much love and appreciation to all of you who have supported this!
Dang I love skillets with heat rings. It gives them a little more appealing look to me. Some might say more character. I just got a #8 arched Sidney high up and got home and found a crack. No worries it will still cook well. Only paid $30, which is too much for a cracked one but not that much for an oldie. I didn't have a light, and it passed the ping test.
I have a 3-notch Lodge I use on a glass-top stove most mornings without a problem. And induction wouldn't have a problem either, they work as long as the pan is within 1/4 inch or so.
love your shows !
I've got 5 more episodes already done - they'll be released every thursday at around 3-4pm CST
The Griswold skillet griddles fetch a pretty penny if they are clean and flat.

Why oh why do people have to use grinders on cast iron.
Bought the $12 cast iron pan and passed on a $300 valued copper pan to the right. 😄
How are people supposed to know?
