My dad found a Griswold on his property years ago and said “here you like old stuff take this rusty pan off my hands”. I restored it and once I could see the logo I researched and fell down a rabbit hole. It’s my favorite pan but huge I think 13 inches? So I’ve gotten other cast irons but nothing as nice as the Gris. I love when I get to use it.
Nice collection of Griswolds and knowledgeable video. I need to find a griswold! Just bought an old wagner ware #9 grill pan in perfect shape. I’ll keep hunting around for more treasure 👍🏼
Thanks for all of the information and especially the dates. As I cook with a smooth top stove (soon to be induction), I only collect the smooth bottom pieces. Only one piece is SBL, a No. 9 Griddle, because that was the only reasonably priced one I could find.
You ain't lying Rick D. C.I. Chris,,, this is very VERRRRY VALUABLE much needed info. I got stuff & I like dating is more of my hobby. Da bigg reveal. THANKKKK YOU!!!
They also made great aluminium oval roasting pans. I've got one I inherited from my grandmother I am guessing was from the 1920's. Not quite as heavy as cast iron but I've made many an amazing pot roast in it!
Wow finally someone that loves cast iron more than me 😁. Very interesting thank you. I’m going to check what mine says that I got when visiting NW Arkansas in an antique shop in the middle of nowhere where in the Ozarks. Something I will keep with me forever. Just had a look at it. Do you know what it could be, no name looks like a mountain printed with a S running through it.
I inherited several first gen small logo. I actually like the smaller logo the big ones are a little goudy for me. All Griswold are excellent. Cant complain about my ancestors choice. #10#9#8 flat gridle circular gridle. #3
@@cast_iron_chris Nooo, dont do that. It's just so many with either, Lodge, BSR, Modern, I think only you got Griswolds covered. Mudbrooker likes Wagners. He does good content. Don't go out on a limb. Just luv your descriptions & tutorials on pans.
I'm just real green on emailing & stuff lol. Rick D Stumbaugh had been working wit me. I be wanting to know but he makes me put in da work. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Haaaate electronics.
I’d like to see more videos like this showing the other brands as well! Great stuff!
