Thanks for the tip about cutting the roots back. That was new to me. Also, thanks for making the video quick and not drawing it out for 20 minutes like many RUclipsrs tend to do.

A most enlightening, no nonsense video which, having watched it, enabled me to add anubias plants to my wood. i wouldn't have thought to cut the roots back before gluing the plants on, it made the whole operation so much easier. I bought a breeding pair of Heckel discus in 1965, just before leaving the hobby and selling everything back to my local pet shop. I'm back again and trying to get back to where I left off. I'm now patiently waiting for an order of 8 baby discus from a show breeder in Florida and truly appreciate Gabe's video on aquascaping. I'm ALSO now awaiting my order of 9 anubias, 1 tube of cyanoacrylate and a big chunk of mopani driftwood. Something to do while I wait for my little fishies to arrive ;-) I should add, the new plants and driftwood are for my community tank... the new young discus (1.5 to 2 inchers) are going into a bare 20 gallon nursery tank when they arrive. Gabe, I'm trying to watch all of your vids and have greatly enjoyed and learned from every one of them. Thank you.
Good Day Gabe, Just want to say, merry christmas and happy new year. Thank you very much for all of the information that you share here, it really help me as a beginner. hope you always healthy and happy :) Warm regards from Indonesia.

To make a long story short,I just removed last week mono line - very light- that had ingrown into a Sailfin Plecostomus. It was a hoop made for holding ferns to wood. I cut the line..and pulled the line through the fishes back. Over the months it had grown so fast...the line hard to see on a fish that I only saw a few times in the day. Never again with monofilament.
Nice job Gabe! I didn't know that bout the roots I've been forever trying to cram the long roots into the gravel or sand🙄 worried about killing the plant? Actually sounds good for the plant to get growth🤔 thanks man!,✌🌿🌱🌿
Appreciate the tip Gabe, love your vids only drawback is the insane hunger for Manicotti & Lasagna that automatically occurs. Old Scot / Italian, damn grandkids don't like pasta WTF!
good tips there and cheers and adding more moss there will look really good as well, i like to add java ferns as they are super nice and hardy plants and super easy to grow super huge, thats what i used :D "D
I'm gonna check out the reef glue, but you can use Krazy Glue too (or the generic stuff). It can even be applied underwater in a pinch it doesn't need air to cure, and it's not harmful to fish or plants - but make sure it is the gel kind so that it doesn't run, and try to make the glue spot somewhere that it can't be seen because it can turn white sometimes.

do you ship discus in trinidad
That’s a great video Gabe! I have one question... the plants and roots seem to catch a lot of food in them... is there any good way to avoid this ?
Once you go with gravel this tends to happen. Just use a python suction tube to go lightly around them.

Great video! Do you recommend a way to clean or remove anything harmful on the plants before putting them in aquarium with discus?
Potassium Permanganate bath on a strong level will wipe everything harmful out.
Jack Wattley Discus thanks.
Nitrate can slow the growth of fish?
Will you please take an other video about your filtration system

Maybe it’s the pump up the jam song that is causing them to remove it....
What is the purpose of adding plants to a Discus tank?
Esthetics

Hi Gabe.Does the krill meal cause decolourisation of the fishes and redden their colour ?
Krill meal is very high in protein and contains a lot of carotenoids so it will bring out the red.
Does blue and yellow fish discolor ??
@@discusgunlukleri3145 Blue only if placed in a very light tank. Yellow can turn red that's it. With the wrong food.
