Guess it's a chain to list where you were in St. Louis during the storm, I was in Holiday Shores (Madison County, Edwardsville) and we got everything in the video, hail, thunder, heavy rain, high winds... yeah.
Winds like that could blow most anything that high profile over. Especially crossing over the Mighty Mississippi. Glad they made it safe. Thanks for the videos!

The southbound Texas Eagle of 3/31 terminated in St. Louis rather than traveling on to Texas through Arkansas, due to storm damage in Little Rock and surrounding areas. As a result, they turned the train around to become the next morning's northbound run for the St. Louis to Chicago portion of the route. Amtrak did likewise with the northbound Texas Eagle when it reached Fort Worth -- they turned it and it became the next day's southbound to San Antonio.
I drove the bus to shuttle all the people from the train to their hotels for the night. They were less than please with Amtrak for the cancellation and there were about 70 people not enough hotel rooms for everyone
@@wills1597 Just what did those people expect Amtrak to do? Drive on through the damage and hope for the best? Just to get them to their destination. Train travel is a safe mode normally, but there can be occasions when caution is the only option.
It's been windy af for like a week here. I'll be back under those two bridges doing another photo shoot tomorrow. maybe i'll take a picture of the train going over lol
I was on Amtrak's Empire Builder from Fargo to Seattle, after passing Havre MT, there was a storm with winds gusting over 60mph the train can go only 20 mph, luckily it was night time, and I was sleeping
Maybe it's time for the government to put up cameras at vulnerable rail crossings that can capture idiots driving around the barrier and catch license plate details, here in my home state of queensland in Australia the state government put some cameras in and caught a lot of idiots & after copping nearly $1000 in fines incursions went down but still happen sadly & same for pedestrians too.
It is a pity you altered the sequence of the events in St Louis. In the correct order we could have seen the deterioration of conditions, the storm and the aftermath. But hey, you can't cure stupidity, that's why!
It’s a great feeling to be on Amtrak when it’s raining… I can go to sleep madd fast lol
I live in North St. Louis County. We got the rain and wind. No hail

Quite the storm.
13:18 God i love that sound.
6:18 that's a damaged railcar carrier....sometimes lettered for QUAX.
Some refer to them as a Rail Ambulance. They get a Workout so it’s Surprising to see it Empty. 👍
@@kens.3729 oh for sure, I see them quite often in yards....they know how often derailments happen lol

Weather happening being on a train crossing a bridge 👀
Why?? Because there is no cure for utter stupidity! ! ! I just hope that no public money is used to treat them if hurt!!
@G Greg
Spending that money on umbrellas & ponchos for Amtraks is more sensible. 😜🙄
Thank heavens the train didn't tip. I wonder how high wind speed needs to be to tip over a coach? ? ?
I was thinking the same thing!
Wow those gates suck

Those points need to have the ballast leveled up very quickly
What happened to the St. Louis cams
