    I think this looks awesome. And I’ll tell you right now, I actually wish the GM did this to the Corvette. My 2017 Grand Sport can be such a pain in the ass to get out of because you literally have to open the door wide open just to get out of it... in tight parking stalls I am literally crawling out of the damn thing because you can hardly get out of the car unless you open the door almost all the way. But you can’t open the door all the way or you’re going to smack into the vehicle sitting next to you! With the Lambo scissor doors it would be a lot easier to get in and out of the Vette. I wanted to get this package put on my car years ago but I don’t know anybody in town who could install this. I am in Edmonton Alberta Canada so...

      Hey Cory, you definitely nailed it! Being 6'3" it's a major pain trying to get in and out for me too! I enjoyed the extra leg room that the scissor doors provided, but unfortunately being an aftermarket product & install, it just doesn't have all of the bugs worked out (at least in my application) and yeah finding an installer was a challenge, and finding one that knows what they're doing with this kit is even harder. 😕

    Hi there. Nice Corvette! The problems that you are having can all be fixed. They are due to improper installation. If you reach out to us we can help you. We do at least 1 C7 Corvette every week here in house. Every one that we do leaves with the doors operating perfectly. Can problems be caused by not operating them properly, of course, but that's user error, not the product's fault.

      Thanks @verticaldoorsincusa! Honestly, I have to say I love the way your guy's product made my car look and it seems to be built well, but as should be expected by people who get this done to their car, it's a modification that may need upkeep. Up here in Northern CA for example, the weather changes too much between seasons and I could definitely tell that the air shock would need to be adjusted as the avg. temps. fluctuated or it would be annoying to close the door. I would agree though that my initial problems were due to an inexperienced installer, not the product itself. Just gotta keep expectations in line with the realities of the modification. :)

    The car is beautiful, love the color and wheels. The doors do look cool & exotic when both open. Mods are not for Vette owner, which is the goal of the mod, to make it unique and better in your eyes. I am interested to hear what your installer did differently that hopefully prevents the problems Mike of SS717 had with his lambo doors on his Z06 no longer closing. Anyway, have fun with the car and door mod. Thanks for sharing.

      Zillel ben thanks for watching! :) Yeah, I'll make another video going more in depth with how the install needed to be changed and some issues we encountered and am still having :/ (Hint: Mike was right, it ruins your car, BUT it does look cool, just not for a dd)

      1Brain4Wheels yeah just about how it performs for you on a daily, like is it annoying at all, take away from the practicality of the car etc.

    Like it,makes sense in tight parking spaces.its easy to go overboard on mods.red calipers& heritage fender stripes.

    • @1Brain4Wheels
      @1Brain4Wheels  6 лет назад

      I actually really wanted the red calipers at one point, but so many people do that mod, I was thinking maybe a yellow color on those? Someday... The doors definitely looked cool, but in reality they are a total PITA, especially if you have passengers, it can be hard for them to pull the door down in the summer. :/

    • @1Brain4Wheels
      @1Brain4Wheels  6 лет назад

      Dennis T Yeah, I had it done by Eric at Top Gun Automotive in Rocklin CA yelp.to/qTKq/DxCG8Uf79J Definitely a master at his craft, but even the Lambo doors was a challenge for him, they're just really time consuming to install and really finicky...

    if this soyboy would stop skipping leg day, maybe he'd not have so much trouble getting in/out of the car =D granted, im 5'9" so getting in my vette is no issue, but... still.

    Would cool if you open and it auto goes up automatically instead of you pushing it manually

      That would be so much more expensive, but also wayyy cooler! I’m kind of surprised no one has done it yet, even as just a one-off

    how did you pay only $1,000 when every website including www.verticaldoors.com has it for at least $1,699?

    • @1Brain4Wheels
      @1Brain4Wheels  6 лет назад +1

      Email them directly, I wasn't going to pay the full price for this modification because that just would have been out of my budget and they were willing to wiggle down on the price... others may have different experiences, but they were very willing to work with me, which was definitely appreciated. Also, since I was having this done for my Mom's wedding (they used my car to drive off), I think VD may have been especially accommodating to what I could afford. Are you thinking of having these added to your C7?

    • @richcoury7477
      @richcoury7477 6 лет назад

      yes.... I have a '16 GS.. I've watched many reviews here and they're all mixed.. Some say they love it, others regret it.. But to me, like in your video, I don't really care what everyone else thinks, as long as I like them.. To me, I think it looks sharp on the vette... How much approximately, and how long approximately was it at the body shop.. Thanks for your reply btw

    • @1Brain4Wheels
      @1Brain4Wheels  6 лет назад

      Rich Coury yeah, for sure don't mention it, I enjoy sharing all the little modifications I do to my cars and seeing what others think! :) As far as install, I can't remember exactly but it cost about $1300 and took 4.5 days at the shop (no clue how many hours they actually worked on it though) Since this was his first time installing this kit and he didn't know how complicated it would be, I actually ended up getting a good deal, but it's still not perfect :/ I still love the way it looks, but they do have their drawbacks. I made a video talking about some of the issues I've had, I'll post a link if you want to check it out: ruclips.net/video/Gyi5KDKZtYE/видео.html

    • @richcoury7477
      @richcoury7477 6 лет назад +1

      so, the install cost an additional $1,300? Oh Lord... Ok, thank you... I haven't purchased anything yet, but after watching many videos, and reading reviews, I've decided on the ZLR doors instead of the Lambos.. I like the Lambo doors, but for me, I think the ZLR's are freakin awesome looking.. Once I'm ready, I will just email them directly, and see what kind of deal they will have... On the bottom of the home page, they had a link on saving 25% on the next purchase.. I clicked the link and it took me to a page where I would have to subscribe to their magazine or whatever to get that 25% off.. Thanks again for the info

    • @1Brain4Wheels
      @1Brain4Wheels  6 лет назад +1

      Rich Coury right??? That's what I was thinking, unfortunately I didn't realize that much extra cost until after I purchased the kit… they did find one guy who said he would be willing to install it for $700, but I looked him up online and to be honest he seemed kind of ghetto and I would've had to drive ~two hours away to get it done. The ZLRs look cool, I was just worried about opening them in tight parking spaces? If you do go that route, let me know how you like them!
