Can we appreciate how much of a lyrical genius Taehyung is? His ability to express his emotions using colours and metaphors has me SHOOK. Taehyung co-produced, self composed and wrote this song! It's a reflection of how Tae felt during the beginning of this year. It was originally suppose to be on his own mixtape, but the members' liked it so much they asked him to put it on the album. He is an AMAZING artist!

V also produced along with others 💜 V also described it as his thoughts from having a burnout before. He doesnt like to describe it as depressed also he said 😂

Right I think they both did so great. But in this song, just like stigma, we get to see Taehyung’s range especially because he’s a baritone and falsetto is harder to hit. Jimin said that he loves this song but because it’s in a lower pitch than he’s used to/ comfortable to he didn’t have much lines. While in most bts songs Taehyung has less lines because pdogg likes his songs high pitch. I think it’s great that bts enjoyed this song so much they asked Taehyung to give it up from his mixtape to put in the album. It shows that good songs are not always needed to be very high but can do equally as well in a lower pitch.

Can't agree more... it's a song of depression. Feels like once you are sick the color of life truly reduced to blue and grey and I feel it's just grey eventually. So desperately want someone to help but end up just screaming inside. Keep reminding myself the heart is still beating and I am still alive. What I want is just to be happier. " Am I too greedy to ask for that?" I actually feel more related to this type of song rather than the one keep singing "I don't wanna be alive, I just wanna die today. I want you to be alive"

V wrote this song when he was suffering from burnout and possibly depression. He said this a couple of times, I also think that’s why the members wrote such moving messages to him on the rolling paper during the fiesta. Makes this song even more emotional.

This song is very special to me. This is my favorite song of BE album. V said in the interview on Weverse
V: I wrote “Blue & Grey” when I was at my lowest point, when I was actually asking whether I could keep going with my work or not. Even the fun parts of work became a chore, and my whole life felt aimless. “Where do I go from here? I can’t even see the end of the tunnel.” Those kinds of thoughts hit me hard.
