- Swiss leisure carrier Edelweiss has announced it will be upgrading its fleet in the near future! The carrier has chosen the Airbus A350 to modernize its fleet. The first of six aircraft will arrive sometime next summer, with the last arriving by the end of 2026. Notably, these twinjets will replace the airline’s four-engined airbus A340s! The A340s will be dearly missed.
There is something special and aesthetic about single deck, quad-engine aircrafts, and quad-engine aircrafts in general...
IMO, it's a perfect replacement aircraft for the A340
I'm surprised the 330neo was not picked for Edelweiss but since the A350 frames was available now it makes sense to take them now.
You're right. Edelweiss chose the A350 to adapt with its new design. The A330NEO is just part of the A330 family inheriting some exterior design elements from the A300 from the 1970's.
This is outstanding peace of business! A350 incredible aircraft of engineers

@@heidirabenau511 thank you friend, english is not of my first language. i always learn.
@@damsom1431The important thing is that you are trying. Keep it up and you'll be good before you know it
2:10 love the a350 formation. That's gotta be the coolest formation in Aviation History
Flew many times on Iberia’s all A340 models, and Loved these aircraft for their era, but Airbus transitioned into the A350’s, which should be my next best choice after the A380’s. Good Luck Edelweiss in your new aircraft venture👏✌️
When I first saw the title I was like YES YES YES but at the same time, I’m sad for the A340’s going away
Quadjets are becoming obsolete very fast
Great choice
I know very little about that airline
RR will be happy these planes are back in the sky. They charge by the flying hour - can’t imagine planes being sat in the desert is profitable for the engine maker.
Based on the coy strategy, the a350 will definitely deliver the bottom line results
It's a good deal to replace the A340s. They are old and becoming uncomfortable.
I was still on the A340-300 Air Glacier last month and these 30 years old were really showing, despite excellent maintenance.
On "Air-Glaciers" A340? The helicopter company?
@@thomasnorb4077 They are called Air Glaciers due to the Glacial pace of flight, the planes are anaemic.
uncomfortable? I'd care to disagree
@@thomasnorb4077 No, the A340 named "Air-Glacier"

Edelweiss, every morning you greet me...
I guess they couldn’t go all the easy up to the Dreamliner

Complete W you mean!
@@heidirabenau511 im not “mean” that’s just my opinion plus the a350 is sooo overrated
@@gabesaviation03so is the 787 and beside the a350 make more sense for the a340 replacement.
@@gabesaviation03 care to explain your opinion?
Trash upgrade. 4 engines for the win
have you ever even flown before, flight sim kid?
Twin Engines are more fuel efficient, safe for the environment and less costs then quad jets or trijets.
