Nothing like a new YZ 250 I’ve had several in my day starting with 1994,2000,2001 and 2013. The 94 I put so many hours on. It was unbelievable. 4 years of trips to Livingston every weekend 2 full days of riding from daylight till dark. So at the very least 12 hrs per weekend on the bike. I would bet more like 14/16hrs cause we rode hard and far. Went through lots of fork seals, swingarm bearings linkage bearings wheel bearings but only 2 top end rebuilds total. Maybe 3, but only as maintenance it never let me down. None of them have but it’s just amazing that the 94 went through so many hours. Thousands im sure. On a 2013 now and wouldn’t trade it for any other 250. Unless if Yamaha brings out a all new engine.. that will be sweet.

They look almost identical to all the yz250s of the last 10 years. The four strokes had so many visual changes while you are pretty much getting a bike that hasnt changed since 2009 when you get a 2018 yz2502t.

Thankgod yami still makes 2 strokes. I was wanting to buy a 250x cash, but the dealerships kept telling me they couldnt get them. 2 strokes are well in demand and are strong in the offroad market.

dementedspirit1 Honda stopped production of two strokes in 07 and they won’t ever make more because of the amount of pollution they produce. But that didn’t stop me from buying two cr250s

I wish we could post pictured on YT. I would love to show you want I did with my 2019 model, (same bike). I don't know about your bike, but mine was the worst set up 250MX bike I ever bought out of the box. But, I know how to make it the best from the suspension lowering a bit, to the power I want out of that pretty mellow stock engine, (has pretty good top end.). If you still have that bike, research the cylinder head. I think around 2011 they lowered the compression so it will run on junk gas all over the world. You can just swap heads for more compression, mid range boost, or take .0085" off the gasket surface of your stock head to make the same thing. I have both of them and measured them.

They are jetted rich to run on the safe side anywhere in the world. The smoke goes away, (sans start up for a few seconds), and you can find an easy 2 more hp by jetting the carb of your new bike.
