I've had many dirt bikes in my days but nothing comes close to my 07 YZ250, I want nothing else. Sold my 500 years ago and don't regret it ever.

There's this thing called breaking in the engine....might wanna check that out!
John there are no plane bearings to break in and ball bearings require no break in. The only thing that needs to be done is seating the piston rings can be done just by normal riding
John you have no knowledge on breaking things in. Its a 2 stroke all that really need to be broken in is the piston rings to the cylinder. And like Matthew said it can be done by riding it normal.

John to break in a brand new bike all you have to do is ride it one tank of gas after that the bike is broken in I have the same bike just bought it

Steve Pilkington Yamaha is the only japanese producer of 2 strokes currently. Though the YZs are pretty much unchanged from 2006 to one you'd buy off the showroom floor.

That 3 stroke is smoking to much, i suggest changing to steel bolts instead of aluminum bolts if you want less smoke.

Why don’t you guys rebuild this track to refresh-in it and just make it better with more jumps and shit!! Cuz it has potential to be a dope track.
Can tell he will need a Suspension revalve / New WP or Ohlins etc Shock on the rear, I can already see it bottoming out, and and a new spanny chamber and V-force reeds ;) But most bikes you see just on the trail have most of those things done and more.. As Rossi said : "Two strokes are of the heart"and I will never get rid of mine. Especially now with all this Eu7ro s#$t just announced..

The 2018 comes with the first top end free in the crate when you first but the bike the manual says rebuild every 20 hours

Okey cudos for Yamaha still rolling this yz 250 out on the showroom floor but honeslty why cant they try to put atleast some R&D into it? Just some minor tweaks ? The japanese dont seem to understand that they would have a HUGE market if they revamped the two stroke lines again. People love them!!
They are great bikes how they are but I agree it would be badass to see a huge redesign of things and still keep as reliable as it is now. Their 250x needs electric Start if it wants to keep up with ktm sales period.
