Hey Archades, absolutely brilliant work you have been doing! Do you know if its possible to play Win 3.x,95 and 98 games on Xbox through Retroarch? I tried to play LEGO Creator on DOSBOX-pure. It did not work. Lol
3.1 maybe but not 9x in a capacity that would be worth it. You would need to use a different version of DOS box as well since I don't think pure supports it currently.
@@ArchadesGames thank you for replying. I tried to get the Microsoft Entertainment pks to work. They wouldnt install either. So far just the DOS games work. Its amazing what the xbox one x can do. Im looking forward to setting this up on the Series X when i get my hands on one.
Everything works fine, except when I make my game order and try to run a game, I get a "Failed to extract content from compressed file" error. Please help!

Where are the installations located ? I want to avoid internal installations so how can I set the target to USB ?
Is an uninstall needed or can I just delete the install folders (if I know where they are) ?

For some reason whenever I am in a game and go to configure the controller device type, the only options are keyboard and none. I am unable to see the option to emulate a mouse using the thumbstick. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?
Do you have to be connected online always or at anytime for retail or dev mode to be enabled to access retroarch?
Hi Archades. Have you already tried the blueMSX core? It works perfectly even with MSX2 games like Vampire Killer, etc...😉

I tried zipping cue and bin for a euro version of bugdom but it wont let me install within dos
Put these 2 soundfonts files in folder like in video : system folder, and game menu is telling soundonfonts not set up corectly . Terminator Skynet sounds awful on default program soundblasters. Need these soundfounds :/

I don't see any install option, Just unmount, and setup.exe options. I'm trying to get the neverhood to run, any ideas? When I click setup it says "this program requires Microsoft windows" or "this program cannot be run in dos mode"

@@ArchadesGames Appears it only came out on Win 95 DOS, there's an English translation for the PS1 version but the load times are awful. Safe to assume there is zero way to get it to run? It usually works fine with ScummVM, but on retroarch using the series s as soon as I set the path and click to load the game it kicks me back to dev home screen 😅
How do I get keyboards to work properly? I've tried in DOSBox-Pure and DOSBox-SVN and in both, only certain keys work when a keyboard is connected to my Series X. I tested a chatpad and a regular wireless Logitech keyboard, thinking the chatpad was just incompatible but the keyboard does the same. For example, typing "c" type the letter c as expected, typing "m" does nothing, while typing "k" pauses emulation!

@@ArchadesGames Thanks, that enables "Game Focus" which I have now set to auto so it turns on when using DOSBox cores (SVN or Pure). My remaining issue is that SHIFT doesn't work at all; there is no way to type characters like "!", "$", "?" or ":". The latter is especially important under DOS! Any idea what is wrong? Same issue with chatpad or a wired USB keyboard. I thought it was maybe a code page but changing that (via "KEYB US") doesn't fix it.
I do everything as described and got the message "Unable to load zip file" from USB drive. From internal SSD everything work's fine:-( Any ideas?

I cant get audio when playing Little Big Adventure. Why is that?
Gotta set it up like on original DOS hardware. If it used weird settings you have to figure out what they were.
@@ArchadesGames I did get it running on my phone's dosbox so I'm at a loss here. Do you think there may be settings files I can transfer from my Android's dosbox to retroarchs's?
Are you using DosBox pure on both?
@@ArchadesGames the android one is called Magic Dosbox but I couldn't find out what version of dosbox it's based on :(
DosBox pure uses its own structures so no I doubt it would be an easy transfer.
Do you plan to cover new version of Dosbox which enables running Windows 98 games on Series consoles?

i can't see whats different about the MS-DOS version of Megaman X, it looks identical to the emulated SNES version to me lol.
The game is choppier in the dos version music is lower quality and the sound effects are different
