In every submission I've seen with PSA, at least 1 or 2 cards will come back graded a 6, even though the cards are perfect. PSA knows they will be cracked out and resubmitted, along with the corresponding fees, and they are betting on them being resubmitted to PSA.
I have never had this with my subs with PSA. I actually have a very high accuracy % with them as far as my preview grades vs grades received. Maybe I am just lucky
Some great cards and fantastic grades, three straight Koufax 7s are sweet. I agree with you on SGC, they are tougher but way more consistent. Vintage also looks better in a tux!
Great sub! I love all the variety with it! I have never used SGC but I do love their slabs. I have been doing good with my reveal videos as far as the accuracy in my preview videos vs grades received from PSA. I must be lucky because I have seen videos where there are odd grades. Anyway, great video and you gained a new subscriber!
Anybody with any sense or baseball card savvy can grade cards. These "professionals" at the grading services are thousands of people. There is no way in hell that each card would be graded the same. I'll say this if grading to re sell cards, it is a crap shoot or gambling at it's finest. If an employee is having a bad day, you won't get a good grade.
Nice submission! First time watching your channel and just subscribed. I was looking for video explaining why its better to submit vintage to SGC. Thanks!
With PSA in vintage the fix is in. If it's a common player from the vintage era PSA starts with a 9 and work their way down. When it comes to a star player, they start with a 7 and work their way down. It's call a little bit too disgusting for me. I'd like to have graded but not in the stacked system. I look at PSA just like I do this scumbag breakers but then don't want to send it out. They are all just grifters. The cards were great though and I enjoyed the video very much. Just subbed.
PSA is OBSESSED with resubmissions. They are merely copying PCGS' late 1980s/early 1990s tactics of resubmit, resubmit, resubmit. What's ironic is PCGS is the same company as PSA. Collector's Universe. It's almost as bad as the coin market.
I only and have always used SGC. PSA constantly grade off center cards 10. Dealers love PSA because of uneducated buyers. And I won't even go into faster turn around times, lower grading fees, no club joining, etc.
I like SGC as well but their holder, specifically the insert being poorly cut has damaged multiple cards of mine. Their T3 holder allows cards to slide under the insert. SGC has had these issues for years. I made multiple videos on this with photos
same EXACT thing happened to me on THAT Topps Traded Griffey - A few of us looked at 3 of them; absolutely stunning - thought they'd all get 10s or at least 9s at worst. PSA gave all 3 the grade of 7. Can't find a single reason for this. I decided I'd crack and send to SGC. Pretty sure will get 9-10 on them. If grading company nails a card, they really should give SOME sort of explanation. I do realize it's very possible, there are things we just can't see with the naked eye that drop the grade, but please in those cases give at least a brief explanation.
I know PSA grades more than all the other companies, a lot more. How many of those submissions a month are resubmissions? I get a 6/7 on my card from SGC I feel that is the grade and do not feel the need to submit it again.
The rub on grading is that while SGC might provide you better grades as a general rule, the value of SGC graded slab is LESS than that of a similarly graded PSA card. Yeah, PSA is tough. But that's the premier grading company. Still.
Subbing with both companies I can tell you that SGC does not provide you with better grades they are actually tougher graders than PSA. What they do is provide you with accurate grades. I do send my modern to PSA and have bought multiple SGC and CSG 9's which i've cracked and sent to PSA and gotten 10's for that reason.
I agree PSA Is very inconsistent. Modern I think they worry about there POP Report. They are known better as PSA 9 I had a green Mosaic 2020 Joe Burrow Rookie got PSA 7. I said no way cracked it sent to SGC GOT 9.5. They just are very inconsistent but I think PSA are easier on Vintage Good luck nice Grades 👍
I'm not a PSA hater either, I just think PSA sucks! Love that run of Roberto. #Clemente21 PSA slabs simply cannot hold a candle to SGC with regards to slab quality and the way they present the card. Don't even get me started on how cards move around in a PSA slab. Baseball is the best! ⚾
Great video but their grading on some of those vintage cards is bogus. They did not give enough of a buffer for normal conditions of cards that old. I think they were a point or more too low on all the low graded cards. Gorgeous cards should get a higher grade. Standards are for a benchmark, but not definitive. Not impressed. I do like the black cases. But I am weary to send anything to them if they are going to low ball every great looking card. They are treating a nip like it's a crease. Maybe they are too scared to be confident of their own opinions or maybe they are in the wrong profession. Your cards are gorgeous. I would get them regraded for the principle of the matter, just like the nonsense of giving that Griffey a 6. Conveying the same B.S. happening in both companies. They are in too much of a hurry to to their jobs.
Thanks for the sub. Be on the lookout in a week or so i have a 34 card vintage order with Mantle's, Mays, Aarons, Clemente's and will be doing a vid. www.ebay.com/usr/toppchoicesportscards
CSG defiantly has the best feeling, clearest, and best looking slab of any company. Just hope the industry/ market will catch up with the values as comparable to the other grading company's. I think PSA added so many graders that the quality and correctness in grading has been lost.

That is a good take that I never thought of :)
Yup

Thanks a lot agree with everything you are saying

Great reveal, congrats on those Koufax grades in particular! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
Great cards!!!! Love those Hanks! PSA is so inconsistent and if you snap and send that Jr. in again maybe it gets a 10.

Definitely feel like that sometimes. And thanks for the sub
Fantastic stuff. Lots of great hall of famers and great quality grades. Wow. Thanks for showing!
Thanks Alot

Vintage cards rock thank you for sharimg
I’ve had good Luck cracking psa 6s 7s and getting 8s and 9s with sgc for modern. For vintage sgc grades tougher for mid grade 4s and 5s .
I like SGC as well but their holder, specifically the insert being poorly cut has damaged multiple cards of mine. Their T3 holder allows cards to slide under the insert. SGC has had these issues for years. I made multiple videos on this with photos
Just subscribed and wow, you made some VERY nice raw pickups here
Thank you. I have another small vintage submission arriving Tuesday
PSA older grading was much different than today. Their standards have definitely changed.
Agree totally
I use SGC now and totally agree with this, PSA grading is just so erratic.
Specifically they did not ding oc cards as much as PSA. The joke was that SGC just graded all the PSA OC qualifier cards and miscuts
Maybe the PSA person ment a 9 but put it on upside down and it looked like a 6? 😉
They are really tough on those small creases.
The 6 on the 1966 Mays is a fantastic grade.

Thank you
The Griffey got a 6 from PSA, because a computer scanned it, and printed out the label and no human ever examined it
Has anyone heard of a new card grading company in Illinois called Dynamic Card Grading?
I'm not a PSA hater either, I just think PSA sucks!
Love that run of Roberto. #Clemente21

Really nice cards and grades. Those Koufax are sweet.
Thank you
Great video
I thought a lot of these cards were graded low.

Beautiful cards!
Thank you so Much , Scott
Because SGC is much more consistently accurate than PSA.
Are you a collector or flipper?
IM a collector and a dealer. I PC certain players and also set up at card shows and work part time at a Spots Card Shop
Nice 72 Clemente

csg is better than psa. psa has lost their way in my opinion
