- "Barbra was chosen over such talented singer-comediennes as Carol Burnett, Eydie Gorme, Kaye Ballard and even the great Anne Bancroft, it was not just for her stunning talent and vocal prowess. The creative team of Jule Styne, Bob Merrill, Ray Stark and Jerome Robbins all knew the original Fanny; Stark was her son-in-law. Ms. Streisand was justifiably the closest and truest facsimile." - New York Times, 2011
It's petty and pathetic that Ballard felt she had to take a dig at Liza Minnelli for singing "her" song and making it a hit-and cattily pretending she couldn't remember Minnelli's name. Sinatra did the same thing with "New York, New York", which Kander and Ebb wrote for Minnelli, but she never complained. Generosity is always more attractive than envy.
Amazing lady....❤❤❤😊😊😊10 stars
Kaye Ballard was a great lady
She invited me to her house!
Such a nice person.
WOW!!!!! gotta love her!!! at her age, still being able to belt out a song like that is utterly fantastic!
Kaye Ballard.!! The only one! She Is.! She Was.! She will Always Be Most Deffinately In Our Hearts 💕 ❤ ❤

I saw Kaye in her show Working 42nd Street on Theater Row in NYC. She was sensational.

Marvelous!
Legend
Kaye certainly is a legend, as are you Ms. Billings. I'm a big fan of yours - thank you for stopping by!
Back at you Alexandra! You are one of the best!
Rest in peace.
I love Kay Ballard. Eight years later the video looks great even if it wasn't color corrected
Sad news in her passing. Terrific performer and person.
Is there are recording of her singing this same song from her younger years?
Loved seeing Ali...
Ali MacGraw? Wow. She looks strangely unchanged.
I met both ladies and they were nice people. Just gossip.
Is she still alive?
She died yesterday.

How was that a "dig?"
She was merely relating a story of what happened.
I happen like both ladies.
Chill !
