I love the 2 mm technique. I tried it on my ME:A armor after watching your tutorial on that set, and it is now a new favorite way of making my armor smooth (when needed). Thanks for the awesome tip!
I'm glad you found it helpful!
OH MY GOD TYSM!!!! I was just researching for my classic Mercy and THIS was posted an hour ago 💕💕
Yayyyy I'm so happy this helped you.
Hi zon zon zonbie, it Omarys from Puerto Rico, thank you very much for mention us in your video. We really love your work and your personality...I wish you always the best because you deserved..Take care . Omy y Mark!!!
Thank you Omarys!
I love how your taking the time to show us what to do and listed all your equipment down and where to buy them. As someone who’s been wanting to get into cosplay and still a beginner, I have used all of these tools before and glad to know they will come In Handy for cosplaying thank you
Thank you so much I'm glad you found it helpful!
Zonbi's Workshop i can’t believe I’m now just seeing this reply back lol man I really need to fix my notifications and thanks again I’m currently working on a project and your tips have been really helpful
Brave Girl Grace...that 2mm overlay could've gone terribly wrong but went so wonderfully right! You're just knocking this suit out of the park so far!
Thank you! It took a lot of messing up in the past lol. I've honestly never done a 2mm cover this big before but I'm happy it turned out right.
Thank's for talking a little bit about Puerto Rico. Y saludos a esa pareja q está usando el cosplay para hacer la diferencia y llevar alegría a los niños boricuas. Q Dios los bendiga mucho!
I know this video is older, but I'm just now getting into cosplay and desperately needed to figure out how to form the foam when, uh, I'm a big girl with a DD cup. This helped so much. Thank you!
I've never seen someone use 2 mm foam as a substitute for worbla!! This is so helpful, thank you so much! And my favorite armor set from Diablo is definitely Auriel
I did a wizard cosplay from diablo based off of the concept art for the wizard class! I even have a couple of videos about the making of it on my channel!
OH COOL! I'll check it out!
beautiful job. tip: you can do the cup pattern by taking your duct-tape cup and split it from the bottom center up to the bust point (nipple). This will make a V shaped opening in the cup that will allow it to lay flat for tracing. You cut out the V shape from your foam and then glue it shut to get the cupped shape in the foam. You still have to heat it and finish shaping, but some may find it a simpler technique then cutting the cup into thirds for pattern drafting. I love how you use the 2mm foam instead of thermoplastic.
Your armor videos are so helpful ❤️ I'm going to do eventually be doing my first armor build (pyrrha from RWBY) and you make it look less scary than I thought ❤️
You have perfect timing OMG. I’m gonna be working on my first armour cosplay soon, Undyne from Undertale. This was a huge help.❤️
Oh cool! Best of luck on your build and I'm happy this helped you!
I'm doing undyne too! It's for comic con!
Wonderful patterning work and clever 2mm overlay!
Your videos are so helpful, also you make them look so easy and hence it's inspiring... Keep it up.
Thank you!
That was a really cool idea to do a craft foam wrap in lieu of worbla! It made for a really awesome look! :)
Adding a top layer to the EVA foam to smooth everything; my mind was like "noo!" But my curiosity was saying "yes please!" I have never seen that technique before. Kinda blurs the line between foam and worbla cosplays 🙄
holy crap, I got featured?!
YOU DID!!!
ZonZonZonbi whoooooooooooo!
Dude that get up is seriously awesome! Much respect!
Gorgeous work, can't wait to see it finished.
This is so cool! I’ve never seen foam used as a replacement for worbla before!!
Thank you!
Excellent work as per usual, really looking forward to seeing this come together. Keep up the fantastic work Grace.
Thank you so much Rob!
YEAH THAT CAPTAIN AMERICA IS MY DAD #1 DAD
The Vasting Gamer ok.
Aww Grace!!
It helps if you have a friend...but I'm alone
I love you so much and this was so thorough and well constructed- the armour AND the video! So proud of you ,beauts!
Is your memory still improving?
I saw your police calendar shoot pics and you looked incredible!!! Xxxxx
😘💖😍
Thank you so much! I'm doing much better.
Zonbi, your tutorials are always great!!!! Im gonna have to catch up on your tutorials. I dont think I have seen you make any cool male superhero armor like batman or iron man
I love how informative you are! You explain the details so nicely 👏
Also those ripped arms are goals 😂😍 love ya ❤
OMG THANK YOU!
This is so helpful I'm working on a chest piece and I'm having so much trouble with is. Youre the best!!
I'm glad this helped you!
IDK that but I already do that 2mm and 5mm combination in making tigrex monster in monster hunter , youre so cool
Gunna start a knight artorias cosplay at some point! You are always great motivation!
That's awesome! Thank you and best of luck on your build.
thanks for uploading this i'm planing to do a lady Thor cosplay so this will help tons
Have you tried letting the contact cement dry completely (until it’s no longer tacky) and see if it holds better? I saw that mentioned on another RUclips cosplayer video.
i kind of want you to make a batman or ironman suit you'd do either justice!
Great video. 2mm foam is my nightmare. you did amazing.
This is exactly what I was looking for!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!!
Thank you so much for your video. Maybe I missed it but do you include the back piece to the armor in any of your videos?
I am doing this but making knights armor for this Halloween
Fantastic tutorial!!! Any advice on making the back armor? I made a chest plate but the back armor I made keeps sticking up.
Girl your arms are goals !!!
Wow have to say your chest piece is awesome. The first show alone it looks like a real bit of armour. Wrapping yourself in foil each week......is err there something we should know? :P
Thanks! The foil. It calls me.
Its so shiiiinyyyy!!.....Unfortunately there isn't enough cling wrap and tin foil to go round me lol I don't think its a case of bad memory, it seems to happen to most geeks I know (myself included) that the moment you are distracted by something else it all goes out the window. I suspect really we are all just cats in human skin clothing chasing after the laser pointer of life :)
Looks awesome!!! I'm actually planning on making a Amazonian warrior woman cosplay soon, so this is perfect for what I need!!! May I ask how well you can move/bend/lean over in a chest piece like this? I know some of the poses I have planned with this cosplay (as well as general movability at the con!) That I will need to bend/move a decent amount! Thanks for all the great info!
Dude, Zonbi is buff as fuck.
Can you get rounded edges without using a rotary tool? I don't have the budget to get one just yet
This is an amazing tutorial, please do more.
Haha I don't know why it was so funny but I was cracking up watching you try to cover yourself in plastic wrap and tin foil lol 😂 keep up the great work!!!
Lol thank you!
Found your channel from the Boogie thread on Twitter. Great content! Have you ever considered a career in film prop/costume design?
Also, excellent choice of charity, btw. My family received direct assistance from the Lions Club many years back - they are truly a wonderful organization.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I just subscribed to your channel too!
You are quite brave to cover an entire area with 2mm. I would have been freaking out. lol XD When you're all done with this armor are you going to do a strapping video? Sometimes I have issues after I've made something that I'm like how to I attach such and such piece so it will stay.
you probably already know this, but I find using medical shears help you cut off patterns and clothes without hurting the person. My friend who is an EMT told me to try those. They work great. I think they might be also called Trauma Shears. Anyway, have a great day. :)
Do you plan to do the painting ? I'd love to see the final result ! :)
Of course! I'll be painting all the armor at once. Stay tuuuned!
Could use an actual "cup" from a brazier, for shape molding?
1mm Craft foam would let the details show more right?
Have a nice day all of you making you tube
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like barge looks like someone just sneezed in a can and just labeled it contact cement
LOL TOTALLY!!!
No offense but zombie is a literal angel
Full offense: thank you
Where do you get metallic sharpies that actually work??
Thank you for the awesome tutorial. :)
Thank you! I use 'sharpie' brand ones but they dry out quickly on foam! I haven't found a brand that works better yet. I have to replace them often.
This is amazing!!! Do you have any suggestions as to how I can make immortan Joe's plastic armor?
It has never crossed my mind to use thin foam in place of worbla, I can't afford worbla so I have not yet attempted any armor since I failed miserably at a half-life suit. I may very well try it again with this new information, now I just need to find a heat gun.
Will you, by chance, be attending Emerald City Comic Con this March? It'd be awesome to meet you cosplayer to cosplayer
Hey there!
I'm following you for a long time now and I've learned so much from you!
I would really love to see how you manage to create a huge staff in a way so you can also take it to cons, since I am working on a costume with a prop like that atm.
As an example, look at the Character Red Riding Hood from SINoALICE in the Cleric Version.
Something like that would be great!
Your are a great person, so stay like this! I love your videos and especially your cosplays!
Greetings from Germany :)
Sophie Kekskrümel you may want to watch Bills video same principle ruclips.net/video/cnHfG7rwRxs/видео.html 🙂
Thank you Sophie! And I would love to make a huge staff too!
How do you keep the barge from becoming a sold, I've used a squeeze bottle with barge before and it's turned sold.
Wow I never thought this, tank top using duck tape for a pattern after applying, I never thought of that. I do cosplay for Rikku on Final Fantasy X-2 I would love to make a breast plate for her outfit, I’m a little bigger now in size Brest size so I want to make a home made one, but don’t want to rush it. I usually sew my costumes but want to try breast plates out. I have a lot of pastie dip I usually use on cars.
I just saw ninja panda cosplays overlord last week at a con and it is 100% pulled out of the anime
OMG! Jealous you got to see it in person!
I cant express how perfect it was
did u wear a respirator when using contact cement?
super talented lady. Your builds are amazing and you have a very lovely personality..also you are very lovely. no creeperness intended
We just put a stormtrooper helmet together we 3D print it. You have some advice for what kind of foam and padding I should do in the inside and as far as screening or something for the eyes?
Hello! I was wondering if there's an alternative to the rotary tool.
This is great because I doing my pauldrons WHO have flower pattern and I looking for worbla because is pauldrons now are very heavy and I didnt know about Eva can be using Like worbla I Will try it because it is not that expensive Like worbla thanks!
Thank you and I hope you like it!
You are so amazing ♡
Does any super glue work? I always bought contact cement. But its quite difficult to get it in germany (especially if you dont know which one is the best).
wow this vid so helpful gonna make a alt version for my wife thx...
THIS. IS. RAD!!!!!!
Aww thank you!
@@GraceWillow seriously. It’s pretty bad ass. I watched a couple of videos on this and I like yours the most. Makes me want one just to wear around. Lol! Good job! Did people respond well to it when you wore it out?
Your awesome I love all of your videos and you one of my favourite cosplayers and I would love to show you what I'm working on too
THANK YOU!! Please show me what you're working on! My social media stuff is in the description
ZonZonZonbi btw I sent you a message on Instagram my name is alpha_5464
Favorite cosplayer!!!!!
Thank you Roman!
I'm having a lot of trouble finding foam, especially the 6mm stuff. They only sell tiny sheets of it at the Michael's here, and it's vastly over-priced. Do you have any recommendations?
I like using TNT cosplay supply foam! I have a link in the description :^)
;n; Unfortunately, they don't ship to Canada. I might have found a source though. Thanks for the suggestion though. :3
edit: never mind, apparently they DO ship to Canada. XD Thanks for your reply.
3:30a.m. in cali ☺, great vid.
Thank you Andy!!!
Im in the process of do a iron batgirl suit an can i use eva foam instead of craft foam?
EVA foam is usually the same as "craft foam" just check the labels before buying!
ZonZonZonbi ok cool thx
Wot in tarnation? 1-2-3 blocks as paper weights that should be illegal.
Awesome armor zonbi
Thank you!
I trying to sleep here! :P love the tutorial, keep up the great work!
Thank you so much! And you can sleep in 10 minutes 50 seconds mu ha ha ha.
ZonZonZonbi well, you're the boss! :)
Whaaaaatt?? You mean Adam didn't help you with this???? WHY THE HELL NOT?!?!?!?! 8-o
And I'm Also Using Cardboard... That Okay??
Will you be wearing this to Katuscon?
No plans on going to Katsucon this year but I wanna go some day !!!
Darn! I'm using so many of your tutorials for my Katuscon cosplay and was hoping to be able to meet you in person. Maybe another time!
This is so cool!
Thank you!
ZonZonZonbi OMG YOU REPLIED AND HEARTED!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! 💕
What is barge?
I believe it’s the brand of contact cement.
I am doing my Skyrim Dragonborn character as a cosplay and most of the armor is for males not females that have a cup that is bigger.
Totally not related to cosplay: your arms are bomb, I look forward to being this muscular and fit through regular exercising !!!
And the armor piece is on point, as always !!!
AWWW!!! Thank you! Glad you liked the armor. And I was self conscious of my arms when I was editing this video because I thought they looked scrawny ;_; Thanks for the nice comment.
Lol I'm Doing This For My Halloween Costume, I'm A 11 Year Old Girl And I'm Watching This Video To See The Tips And Tricks On How To Do This (BTW! I'm Only On Act I ;-;)
You look like Sarah Jessica Parker In that 1st bit of your vid. Just saying. Brill vid
I really enjoy plans from Stodoys.
You made that armor and you put boobs on the chest plate? How dare you! Don't you know according to Anita Sarkeesian female armor can't have them because its sexist and appeals to the male gaze. I am joking of course, great job I am sure whatever reason you did it for your own personal aesthetics.
