I love the 2 mm technique. I tried it on my ME:A armor after watching your tutorial on that set, and it is now a new favorite way of making my armor smooth (when needed). Thanks for the awesome tip!

beautiful job. tip: you can do the cup pattern by taking your duct-tape cup and split it from the bottom center up to the bust point (nipple). This will make a V shaped opening in the cup that will allow it to lay flat for tracing. You cut out the V shape from your foam and then glue it shut to get the cupped shape in the foam. You still have to heat it and finish shaping, but some may find it a simpler technique then cutting the cup into thirds for pattern drafting. I love how you use the 2mm foam instead of thermoplastic.

Adding a top layer to the EVA foam to smooth everything; my mind was like "noo!" But my curiosity was saying "yes please!" I have never seen that technique before. Kinda blurs the line between foam and worbla cosplays 🙄

Its so shiiiinyyyy!!.....Unfortunately there isn't enough cling wrap and tin foil to go round me lol I don't think its a case of bad memory, it seems to happen to most geeks I know (myself included) that the moment you are distracted by something else it all goes out the window. I suspect really we are all just cats in human skin clothing chasing after the laser pointer of life :)

That I will need to bend/move a decent amount! Thanks for all the great info!

I would really love to see how you manage to create a huge staff in a way so you can also take it to cons, since I am working on a costume with a prop like that atm.
As an example, look at the Character Red Riding Hood from SINoALICE in the Cleric Version.

Wow I never thought this, tank top using duck tape for a pattern after applying, I never thought of that. I do cosplay for Rikku on Final Fantasy X-2 I would love to make a breast plate for her outfit, I’m a little bigger now in size Brest size so I want to make a home made one, but don’t want to rush it. I usually sew my costumes but want to try breast plates out. I have a lot of pastie dip I usually use on cars.

You made that armor and you put boobs on the chest plate? How dare you! Don't you know according to Anita Sarkeesian female armor can't have them because its sexist and appeals to the male gaze. I am joking of course, great job I am sure whatever reason you did it for your own personal aesthetics.
